If anyone asked what is the perfect example of an 80’s cliché action thriller, it is The Delta Force. It’s campy, cheesy, overdramatized, with unnecessary explosions and numerous montages, and I love every minute of it.
It's amazing how underrated Alan Silvestri is. Music for Predator, back to the Future, Delta Force, Forest Gump, Cast Away and tons others. My dad went to High School with him.
Once a year, my buddies and I get together and we toast to Lee Marvin. And we get drunker than we ever have previously. Lee Marvin was a bad ass through and through. Getting "Lee Marvin Drunk" once a year is how we honor this fine American. 🇺🇸

Man, I saw this movie on the big screen when it came out in '86....we were big Chuck Norris fans & couldn't wait. I remember distinctly this theme music which rallied McCoy & his men throughout the movie. It stuck in my head. I looked at again recently & I still got Goose bumps after 36 years. Alan Silvestri couldn't think of how to compose this theme until Chuck Norris walked into the room and stood there. He didn't say a word he just stood in the middle of the room. 10 minutes later this theme was composed.
My cousin's Dad use to get rental video tapes of new movies every week of all the great hits of the 80s like Predator, Rocky 4, Kickboxer, Bloodsport, Commando. He also had some owned video tapes of Western Action movie like The Good, the bad and the ugly, fistful of dollars, McKenna's Gold, etc but Delta Force was out of the league , a different story and mind blowing action...loved chuck Norris and his stunts...we asked uncle to not return the video tape for some more days and we kept watching over and over again...it was so much fun...and this theme now is so nostalgic ..miss those days in 80s

This absolute banger of a song is one of the reasons why the Cannon Group made some of the coolest films of the 80's.
Every single major event in my life has used this song as the soundtrack, every promotion, every graduation or achievement, hell I had bran surgery and when I was wheeled into the waiting area before it this movie was playing on TBS. This song lets you know everything is gonna be ok cause its time to kick some ass. When Jesus comes back, this is the song that will be playing as he rides into battle.

Listening to this on Dec 15, 2020. Was first introduced to this movie by my father when I was 9. I still remember it and I still watch it to this day. This is favorite movie theme song of all time! I feel like I'm ready to seize the day listening to it.

I loved this film as a kid in the 80’s..I’ve watched it with my own son now and he loves it as well...great film and the nostalgia watching it with my son is unreal.
Lee Marvin knew he'd never be in another film as awesome as Delta Force, so he died. True story.
+Graham Allen And George fucking Kennedy as a pacifist Catholic priest who tells the terrorists to fuck themselves and take him hostage as well. Kennedy and Marvin had more badassery between them than a legion of Chuck Norris clones.

MultiTrickydicky .... On a recent Documentary on former Military channel the program was " Delta Force" Tier 1 many senior members of SAS working alongside DF guys everyday said that indeed they felt DF was better and had surpassed SAS

The Aust & NZSAS and Commando Regt, Dutch, German, Polish and many other SF have deployed and between them they all have the utmost respect for each others work rates. Try not to make comparisons about who is better. That are all on the same side FFS
