I watched a whole bunch of videos about the fix, but didn't fully understand where the squeak was coming from. Thanks for showing it so clearly. Wow.... Ok, doing this tomorrow.
Thanks a lot for this video my WRX had the same noise and problem.and I was about to book it in for a TOB replacement before I found this video. Mine was exactly the same the noise would go away after you press the clutch a bit and it got noisier if you rev it out of gear. So did the same as you put a spring on the fork and greased it up and the noise is gone!
Had this issue with mine 2022 wrx, if you put your foot on the clutch and it goes away do not listen to the dealerships telling you it's the throwout bearing, if you push the clutch in and you hear the noise then yeah most likely throw out bearing, but the noise is caused by the clutch fork pivot ball not having proper lubrication get some grease rub it around/ as deep as you can on the pivot ball for the clutch fork put everything back together pump the clutch a little bit get things moving and it should be fixed it's what I did for mine
my car has the same problem, did the spring and still have the noise. where did you use grease? i dont believe it is my throwout bearing becasue it just got replaced.
hey man my 2015 wrx is making this same noise when you press the clutch down like a half an inch. did this method fix it permanently?? it wasnt your throwout bearing making the noise??
Mine was the opposite, it only made that noise when I wasn't on the clutch. As soon as I depressed the clutch the noise went away. This did permanently fix my issue. More than one year later still good.
I have a 2018 MT Forester. I also hear a chirp. It usually happens if I'm coming to a rolling stop. Instead of forcing her into 1st, I put her in 2nd gear at low rpm. As I'm letting off the clutch, into 2nd gear, I hear the chirp noise. Does this sound familiar?
Hello Michael, it could be, in my case the chirping sound was there when I was not touching the clutch in all gears. However this chirping sound is most likely at the clutch fork or could be coming from the Throw Out Bearing, I would grease up the pivot point on the fork under the boot (don't over do it, careful not to get grease on clutch pressure plate) also try placing a release spring on the fork as I've done in my other video , which fixed my issue.
Question.. I’m having this same issue but I have a 2018 CVT Wrx. Im under the impression that automatic cars don’t have clutch forks. Any help with this.. :(
@@michaelnoller8537 you can access the top of the pivot point by removing thr rubber boot on the clutch fork, then I used a grease gun with a hose attachment to get some High Temp grease on there, but careful not too much or it can get around the clutch which may cause slippage
@@legitimateghost6262 it was silicone based, don't remember exactly which one by now...anything with rubber boots, you want to make sure the grease you are using does not deteriorate the rubber.

You gotta mess with it, took me like 10 min of trial and error to get it

So what’s the solution to stop this noise

Hey sorry i am not sure, maybe try and use a mechanical stethoscope to narrow down the location of the noice
When you gave it gas did the noise stop?
No it was worse
Did you just lube it up?
Yes i did add some grease on the ball joint of the clutch fork and at the contact point of the slave cylinder.
MishaUA 91 how did you do it without removing the transmission? Or did you? Have the same issue.
