    Great tips! Funny and well done video. Spot on with the have a drink and soak it all in.
    I LOVE this game so damn much. It's fantastic.
    -Tipping vendors absolutely raises your rep, which gives you better prices, etc. Always tip, you only need 10 Groschen for it to work, plus, like you said, increases your speech.
    -Training tip with Bernard. You can train with real weapons, get beat on, bleed, etc. Don't worry about bandages or going to sleep to heal, just talk to him again and choose learn some combos. Your health, stamina, and injuries are reset. But be mindful of your gear, still have to repair all that.
    -If you're playing as a legit upstanding knight who isn't a dirty pickpocket thief, bandit camp missions will make you a very, very rich man.

      @21Kiloton  6 лет назад +50

      Thank you for watching, and more importantly, thank you for the helpful information mate. I didnt know about the 10 Groschen tip threshold, or how retraining with Bernard would heal you up. Very much appreciate the heads up.
      Ive pinned this comment so if anyone else has any helpful advice just reply to Brian Mayr's post.

    • @brianmayr539
      @brianmayr539 6 лет назад +23

      By the way, did you know you can somewhat auto-combo? If you start your swing in the correct direction, you can just enter the swing and stabs without having to manually change the direction, the game will automatically go to the next direction of the combo. Try it out, makes it easier. IF they don't perfect block you that is.

    • @21Kiloton
      @21Kiloton  6 лет назад +23

      OK Im gonna have to pay more attention to this. tbh Im horribly bad at combos and can barely ever get them to work deliberately..... but sometimes they magically just happen. I guess I must be doing this by accident. Ill try harder to start from the correct direction.

    • @brianmayr539
      @brianmayr539 6 лет назад +16

      Combos are tough to pull off against better opponents, they often perfect block you right out. What does work though, is clinch then hit stab, it's a hit with the butt of your sword, the spacing you knock them back is perfect for a strike, that's when you can pull off a combo easier because they're unbalanced. If you knock them back with the slash they can be out of range, but the longer combos can still work from that. Combo after clinch or a perfect block to get higher success.
      Scarmaker with the longsword is 3 moves, starting with a stab, it's fairly easy to get even against good opponents. Great against guys with no facemasks.
      And keep in mind if you are using the longsword you can't use a shield to get combos. You can only combo using just the sword. The other weapons you can do combos with a shield.

Wasn't aware you could farm bandit camps after the missions were done. Haven't done herbalism/alchemy so your tips are all new to me. Overall very useful to me, the non-god player. Thank you kindly!

      Im sure you are just as good a gamer as me mate, I just spent a bit more time playing. For what its worth I still ask people to fact-check my advice in case I've got it totally wrong.
      Despite me showing footage of fighting the whole of Rattay at the end of the vid (which I strongly suggest you NEVER do as its a great commercial hub, and you want to be their friends), for most of the game I struggled with the combat. Horse archery was a way I found to kill people and not go toe-to-toe with them. In most games, if you want to fight a target that is better than you, "kiting" them is an option that might work.
      Also, early on I got the herbalism skill that gave you Strength XP whilst you gain Herbalism XP. Im not sure its the best choice in the long-game... but it works well early to mid.
      Im very pleased you got something from the video mate. Im a very average player so when I make a guide its great that someone actually got something out of it.

    I know the video is old but I must say I enjoyed it. I bought the game pretty much when it came out mainly cause I love the medieval period. And I must say the lockpicking system is a major pain on console but your right with practice and a fuck ton of hours it gets easier.

      Thank you Adrian. I love this game, so I am honoured when people find the video helpful. You just made me stop and think about what my first piece of advice would be to a new player ... and I guess it would be this:
      There are 2 fundamental dynamics in Kingdom Come Deliverance:
      1. Increasing your ability to survive and prevail, by gathering gear, levelling up, and learning the game
      2. The increasingly dangerous situations the player can put themselves in (intentionally and unintentionally)
      So my advice is this:
      Make sure that the value of 1 is great than the value of 2. (that is pretty much it mate)
      Especially surviving on Hardcore with 9 debuffs, a big part is developing your character, even if it means peon-grinding, and running away from fights if things turn bad... just keep surviving ... stay alive and grab the rewards you can so you can arm and prepare your character. Choose your fights ... practise your "running-away-skills" ...
      Being a "hero" in Kingdom Come Deliverance" is about surviving so you are alive at the end of the game. All those times you ran away or stabbed someone in their sleep ... well that can remain a secret between us /wink.
      Good luck, and happy hunting.

    (SPOILERS)
    Some more tips for beginners, pick up any and all herbs/plants in skalitz. Do that till you get the perk leg day. Then continue doing it and you'll increase your strength and herbalism together. Then sell the herbs you don't want at the traders.
    Store everything you get in the chest in your family home. They stay their till later when you come back. When fighting Kunesh at the beginning just spam your jab/stab button. RB/R1 he will quickly run out of stamina and you can beat him quickly without getting hit. And always leave your father's ale till last otherwise its gets too warm and you'll have get another but you'll need to pay for it. Also if you're brave enough you can stay next to Theresa's Mill and fight all the Cubans. The way I do it is I get a horse and charge at them killing them in one blow. I then get off the horse and loot the the dead cuman giving me some form of armour because they love their bows. Oh and maybe get arrested at the beginning to get the achievement.

    • @kraanz

      Yeah, those horrible Cubans with their bloody communism, KILL THEM, AAAAA!!!!!
      Horrible advice. They'll butcher you. Smack them to "save" Theresa, then flee for your dear life.
      Kunesh is a challenge, too, I beat him only on my... 5th new playthrough? And I was actually hugely surprised I managed to do it. Later, I bullied him until I started feeling bad for him. Then, I bullied him some more. Fucking Kunesh... =D

    I have played KCD a few times and never got past the first large battle. It always seemed way to hard for me.. but after watching a few videos ending with this one I realized that the only way to truly play the game is to basically imagine myself as Henry himself. There is no way to do things without training consistently and repetitively. It’s about pretending you are the character. This made the game much more enjoyable and easy as well once I understood that and slowed down my desire to jump into it immediately

    Starting playing this yesterday and loving it. Your video cracked me up, and is spot on. Not only is Henry is a totally incompetent knob, but his pride should have ended him on several occasions. I was a bit annoyed that you aren't given the chance to make decisions at several points, but just have to sit back and watch the train go over the cliff. A good example is when he is trying to close the tavern and Lord Hans gives him lip. Even though Hans is an ass, Henry should have (would have?) known better than to get into it with a noble...and, realistically, getting into a fist fight with a noble would have at the very least ended him up in the stocks, or more likely executed.

      Yeah its weird how with Fallout, I always play them on progressively harder difficulty, in quick order, then usually end up downloading mods to make them EVEN MORE hard and realistic. Kingdom Come is just like that out of the box. Its like modded Survival mode Fallout ... set in the middle ages, and your dressed like a peasant from Holy Grail. Its genius.

      21Kiloton I agree, I love the fact that I have to really measure my opponent before engaging in battle. I've run like a bitch more often than not, because my character is not leveled up, but I like that I shouldn't be able to slash my way through after just handling a sword for the first time. At the moment I'm travelling under the rain and the thunderstorm is great, I just love to look around and see the little details that add up to a bigger outcome.

    How to get nice armors and groschens early.
    After you get to Ratay, travel/fast travel back to Skalitz. There is always a fight between the various groups: bandits, guards, cumans, or merchants. Ideally, you want to see a battle between guards and high-level bandits; they have nice armors. Save with a Savior Schnapps, in case you fail.
    Wait until one side killed off the others.
    If bandits or Cumans won the battle, try to lure them out of Skalitz. Then come back to loot weapons and armors.
    If guards won, you can just loot the bandits.
    Sell them back to the Talmberg innkeepers. Rinse and repeat until you have enough groschens (about 2000) buy a horse from Merhojed.

      That is excellent. Daniel Vavre, the boss of Warhorse Studios, is a real character and is genuinely a video game hero. He discuss him a bit in my 2018 Game Awards Video. He pretty much decided to make the game, and fought through hell and high water to get it financed and completed. Both him and the game came under attack for not being "politically correct" enough ...so he pretty much went on social media and told them all to fuck off. He seriously had no fucks to give about their crazy accusations.
      I dont have many heroes, but I reckon Daniel Vavre has earned his stripes from me. He incidently has a bottle of Lagavulin in his whiskey collection that I sent him earlier this year lol.

      @@21Kiloton I'm glad the Pain and suffering from funding the game has actually paid off. I've heard this game was bugged as fuck back when it released, they stuck to their guns and made it 10x better than it was a year ago.
      also, KCD will be getting a sequel which I'm guessing was successful.

    • @21Kiloton
      @21Kiloton  5 лет назад

      At launch it was more "glitchy" than "buggy" in my personal opinion. It did have a lot of issues but I honestly managed to work around nearly all of them. The main problem was that there were a few absolutely game breaking bugs where certain main quests would not progress if you did things in a certain order. If you were lucky you never experienced them. But I had a friend who seemed to magically faceplant into every single one and he got fucked off reloading from earlier saves and just took a month break until they patched it all. I would add that I think the experience was different between pc and consoles.
      As for a sequel ... well Warhorse got acquired by THQ, so Im quietly confident there will be one.

    Henry's come to see us! Thanks for showing Henry in jail on day one; that was hilarious. I loved this game and find it surprising that so many top RUclips LPers never get very far in their PTs. At the start, I too was one of those that felt I could never pick a lock but I enjoyed the game so much that I just continued playing. I was impressed that the game always gave me options so it was never a game stopper. However, even before the monastery quest, I was an expert lockpicker and a pretty fair pickpocketer - with my reputation intact. Fun times.

    But mongols did have the best horses for the steppes and the best bows for horsearchery. Also they not only had a great use of mobility but also were madly disciplined and had excellent execution of their strategies since they practiced them since kids.
    They adapted hunting techniques to sieges, they would set a meeting point, usually a big city, and go ravage the land making all the people flee to the metting point. All this refugees brought word of mongol atrocities, striking fear; consumed the cities resources, caused havoc in the city. Also this way they couldn't flee from the Mongol hand.

      Btw all the horses have different stats. If you are riding Pebbles it will likely shit itself. Google the horse stats and go for one thats a good mix of stats. Warhorse Jenda is a safe bet. Had it for a year or two and still yet to complete it. This game is easily one of the best, innovative, frustrating, addicting, gruelling, rewarding, hilarious, sad titles I have ever played in my life. As a modern game, it has almost no peer. To think this is the studio's first venture and it's better than most outputs by veteran mega corps is fucking impressive. I get glitches and plenty of texture popping from time to time but who the fuck cares. It's still absolutely amazing and I'm thinking about it, typing a comment about it while watching RUclips videos about it past 1am before going to sleep.

I also saw a video showing the real life counterparts on some of the buildings in the game and they were pretty much spot on, right down to the brickwork being EXACTLY the same!
    I'm only 20 hours or so in and can't wait to experience the rest of this game and this video has given me some great advice on not only what to do but also what NOT to do :D

      @@crazyate9830 Same. i grabbed the free PC copy on the Epic Store but I play it on PS4 which I got in the sale. If I ever get myself a PC which is able to run it a good settings, I have it now ready to go.
