Hi Gabriel i religiously watch the Ad's completely all the way to the end after i read from one of your members why they do it. I don't know whether you knew or not the commercials on your videos are actually worth watching and so tempting to click on them and actually make a sale from them. You are very special and even the Ad people know that. Happy holidays, travels, and safe journeys to you my friend.

I haven't been here very long, so I'm learning a little about the country and the culture as I go along. A lot to learn and I'll probably leave in a few days still not knowing all that much, it would take spending more time in a country to really get to know it.

Great! Those Sony cameras are excellent. The kit lens 16-50 mm is light and very capable for excellent video and photo. There is also a 18-105mm lens which could be good if you didn't have to lug it around as a travel vlogger, since it's bigger and heavier but it does give you more flexibility. Putting myself in your shoes I'd get the cheap but very good kit lens 16-50mm with some extra "knock off" batteries from Amazon or where ever & a small lanyard to put around your wrist to minimize the chance of dropping it or in the unlikely chance of someone trying to snatch/grab ir from you. All the best Gabriel! :)

Gabriel Traveler: Your trip to Morocco was in my opinion the best representative of middle eastern Arabic culture. Your videos of Dubai and UAE shows these countries too westernized and dull, too much concrete.

Morocco isn’t middle eastern nor Arabic.
Arabic cultures are in Yemen UAE Saudi Arabia Oman Kuwait Bahrain Jordan Iraq
Arabs are people from the Arabian peninsula. Morocco is a Berber ethnically but Arabic speaking
In the UAE we have a lot of Arabic culture but people who go focus on the modern things not the culture.
Here are some cities you’ll find Culture
      Dubai:
      Bur Dubai(Al Fahidi Bastakiya)
Deira ( Dhows and Abras and Souks)
Hatta (Mountains with Springs and castles)
      AbuDhabi:
Castles and Forts within the Island
On Bani Yas Island is one of the oldest churches
Al Ain (Forts mountains springs Bronze Age tombs Palm Gardens)
Fujairah ,Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain:
      Pearl Diving
      Traditional Fishing
      Traditional Cooking
      Etc
      Within the People you’ll find:
      Traditional Cloth and its functions
      Perfumery and Fragrances
      Food
      Hospitality
      Camels
      Jewellery (pearls)
      Hunting (falcons)

    • @omarab865

    • @Donald590
      @Donald590 6 лет назад

عُـمَــر آل بــَـدَوي you must be hanging around a lot of arabs then because most people ive spoken to call the the persian gulf. It is also internationally recognized as the persian gulf. Also Persia has a huge coastline with the gulf so while there is only one persian country, it not like the have a tiny coast line with it like most arab countries do.

In Oman you must visit Alrustaq city they have this amazing volcanic water spring called Ain al kasfah, which is super hot and very therapeutic water, also try to go to the green mountain and climb to the peak, which is the highest peak in the Middle East, it's an easy climb and amazing view, and also go to Muttrah in Muscat must east authentic Omani grilled meat called Mishkak or mashakeek.... To explore Oman you need years, few days are not enough.

Cool shirt Gabe. I know just going somewhere you haven't been to yet is fun and I'm really trying to feel it in Dubai but somehow all that concrete just isn't cutting it for me. looks like a concrete jungle. At least in LA it's pretty buildings and A LOT of art on our buildings. I hope more is to come that proves it all has much more to offer. Hope you're having a great time tho, my friend. ☺

    • @usedbrickie9166
      @usedbrickie9166 6 лет назад

Yes, but maybe not for everything. I even liked the old Icon. Check out the video on Karl Watson's camera choices. I know he's probably got a fortune invested in his equipment now but I'm sure he didn't start out that way. I think he had a little Sony Handy Cam, $400 range. I thought it did a great job but I don't think it's water proof. I know stabilization is super difficult packing all that gear and I can live with whatever you have. It's us older farts with not quite the vision we had is the problem. Everything you do is perfect in my book that's the hole journey. Have a great holiday Gabe, thanks

Hey Gabriel, nice video! The image quality of the Sony is really good, the colours and crispiness of the image are way better than the Gopro. Also the audio seemed better, you are not using any external microphones right? The stabilization did not bother at least myself too much. However maybe you could consider getting Kimble (i.e. sort of stick like gorilla pod, but with inbuilt stabilization)? Enjoy Abu Dhabi and looking forward to your Oman videos :) Its more fun to see you exploring places which are new to yourself. Merry Xmas!!

Just a suggestion, if it will help. When you get the time, download the GPS app called "HERE we go". The Android Authority highly recommends it too. It's the only app I use for walking around or using a taxi or bus, so I always know where I'm at. It works with airplane mode activated too. Works everywhere I've been, even Nepal. Good luck, and thanks for all your videos.

What is your cell phone company, Gabriel, please and why do you think you did not have any service in Abu Dhabi? Man, that was inconvenient, wasn't it?

I use T-Mobile which has great international coverage, but it doesn't work in all countries. It just depends on their business dealings with certain countries I guess. Not sure exactly the reason.

Got it! It surely must be terribly frustrating to land somewhere and then find out ... YIKES, I have no cell phone service!

It's not too big of a problem for me actually. I got my first smartphone two years ago, so I'm used to traveling without one. The main thing is finding places without having google maps, but then I just write down the directions to my hotel in advance. But still, having the phone service is definitely better.

Yes, there are always work-arounds. I actually MISS the old days of no social media and "smart" phones. I actually still own my old flip (3G) cell phone, and use it so little that I can't conceive of wasting $40 month just to own a phone.

Nothing special, just another day traveling. I'll be here in Abu Dhabi.

That bus is the nicest one I've seen you on in awhile. A marked contrast from the India buses. Obviously a wealthy country has the money required to have top of the line infrastructure. Nice seats, good air-conditioning...I bet it even had a bathroom! (still remember the awkward problem you had on the bus with no bathroom ;) It was a lesson to us all...for that could happen to any of us. THIS bus...comfort, and no worries!

Margie Tucker hi Margie, the bus that he has taken is from Dubai to Abu Dhabi which are two largest cities of Emirates, while in India he mostly prefers places in tough terrains where such luxury buses just can't operate, if you ever visit India and need to travel between major cities placed at short distance, you will get quite a good no. Of air conditioned luxury buses and also air conditioned trains with onboard catering for short & long distances, it's just how you choose to travel, if you prefer extreme luxury, you can spoil yourself with Palace on wheels and Maharajas express kind of luxurious trains.
India is a vast country so railways & flights are preferred mode of transport for us & tourists as well ,for this reason the luxury bus services stay unnoticed in background, which mostly working professionals travelling intercity use when they can't get ticket in train.
