Fix Canon - Change the Battery Pack ERROR

Problem
Change battery pack error message keeps popping up and not switch on properly.
Solutions
Place a small piece of paper between the battery and cover. This will force the battery onto the connectors.

Great post, thanks! I've been having this issue for a long time. I actually used a few narrow strips of electrical tape along the top edge of the battery. So far this seems to be working.

Just a word of caution to readers: Don't make the paper too thick. It becomes difficult to open the battery compartment lid again. Experiment till you get the right thickness: Deep enough to make a strong contact with the electricals - and space enough for the flap to slide open without too much of difficulty.
If this didn't work for you, then your problem is likely not due to physical contact.

doesn't work for my PowerShot ELPH 330 HS, but even if it works for you, canon should've been well informed and responsible for this issue in many of its products, they should've recalled and replaced all camera defects, that's not a real solution, just a make shift

Thanks for this, have been using a SX240HS for 9 months without a problem, and suddenly "Change Battery Pack" appears even though I knew the battery was full.

Instead of to avoid loose contacts of batteries point, put medicine tablets cover in between two cells ,this will resolve battery low problem
