I was planning to make a mechanism that would remain open for 12 hours to do timelapse. this was the first and best video I've seen about it. but it's hard to do. I don't understand technical workmanship, so I think there must be a simpler way. my machine canon ixus 145.
I think Canon sells a kit that does the same thing if you need it but don't want to mess with making a custom one. It's very easy though but you need to solder stuff and need a diode to lower the voltage of the battery to approx. 4 volts.
This is for running it from a charger but yes 3 x AA 1.2 rechargeables should last a lot longer than the original battery depending on the mah capacity.
After doing all the things mentioned in the video, only my canon ixus hs255 is getting powered on and lens is also not opening fully, what could be the issue?
Make sure to watch the full video. Power should be enough on the power supply and the Voltage at the battery terminals as close to original voltage as possible. I think the power supply is not good enough if it starts but stops. No resistor just diode as you see in the video. Hope this helps.
Can you buy this camera expose the sensor and modify it to adapt c cs mout lenses and show us the difference between original and benefits and drawbacks ruclips.net/video/MCcvQ4LsWW4/видео.htmlsi=FOdNCeSvhWw6UmOZ

@@IONHowTo What exactly is the kit name Canon sells? I don't understand soldering. it makes more sense for me to get ready kit for her
@@Hakan-xv6qm I don't know but search for external battery kit and your model.
@@IONHowTo thank you man, thank you for helping
Very good explanation! I'm interested in learning this kind of things and your video really helped! thank you very much! 💕
Thank you, this was a very useful and informative video! I will definitely use your idea!
Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what i needed thanks
Very good mate.Congrats
Sir please help canon IXUS 265 HS model how to external power battery use??
Is double A battery is better than normal battery from the canon that last 2-3 hours only ?

hi i am just learning, in this case i can use zener diode.
You could try, most important, measure the voltage as shown before using it in the camera.
Can cardbord or just a piece of wood be used if you don't have a dead battery?
wow, will you make another video about this but for the more powerful cameras eg canon 60d thank you
I would if I had one but now we use Lumix S5 and it doesn't need this mod.
Or can u modify it to adapt c, cs mout lenses to it by dismantling it and 3d printing mount for it
That's too much for it but yeah I can imagine you could easily make some custom mount for it if the lens was broken.

@@IONHowTo After I charged my powerbank fully, it started working properly
Great work
What about the middle tab on the battery? Because it is also having a different voltage & might be powering some low voltage components directly
The battery is 3.7 volt but Powerbank is 5volt, is it no problem??
Did you watch the whole video? :/
can i use ( IN4007 )diode
You could, check voltage before connecting to camera. 4 - 4.2 volts is fine
@@IONHowTo thank you bro you solve my problem 😊😊😊
You pimped my cam👻🎉
😎
Which diode do u used in this video !?
did you watch the whole video?
@@IONHowTo yeah
Hey I'm interested in doing this for ixus 160, looking for help
