momota is unbelievable at the net but those returns are not impressive. yes they make it over the net but they are hit very high. despite a little action on the shuttle every one of those would be killed in a match. in actual play momota takes the shuttle high and early and repeatedly uses the net to keep his opponent from dictating pace from the back of the court. it's one of the tools he uses to prevent his opponents from playing the game they want to play
ruclips.net/video/ttEkhHGqJNQ/видео.html here's another clip of LCW and Taufik practicing and countering each others tight spinning net shots. Kento vs Greg also ofters insights will have to watch in slow motion.
I have watched a number of v-logs uploaded by players about the All England tournament. Yours is by far, the most enjoyable and educational sharing. A well struck balance of meaningful conversations + analysis, actual tournament experience and match footage. Could also witness how both of you put into actual play, the previous sharing you did about doubles positioning. Wonderful really. As usual, insightful and humorous. Thank you! =)
Hello from Malaysia, just started to follow this channel since yesterday for the tutorial, it blows my mind that both of you are athlete players! Keep up the good work!😊
World #1 celebrated bcos he knew he had a battle on his hands. The length of net rallies were incredible. Very close in the mxd, can only improve from an already good base once you guys play more often together. Great LD match Jenny. Tnx for vid.
Very bittersweet to watch this perfect Kento Momota sequence after he announced his retirement. :( He has such a good personality. I really miss him a lot!
First time seeing your channel and I gotta say, I love it especially Kento Momota, one of my favorite badminton players of all time! Really funny when he kept shouting, he so energetic everywhere I watch him!
Oh man, my favorite player. What a rarest view that was! And yes guys, the net exchange was top notch from both sides. Infact I would say a novice won't find it interesting but in fact it was a high skill demonstration from both of you guys.
Aloha Greg and Jen, loved your All England vlog, us mortals only dream of playing in the rarefied climes of such a prestigious tournament. Seeing Greg exchanging net shots with Kento was a treat. You guys played well in the mixed doubles and Jen in the women's doubles. It was so awesome getting to share your experience. Thanks. Take care.
Well played both. Looks like you had a lot of fun .... esp with Momota, how crazy is that! I'm sure it must have been a great experience playing in a Super 1000 🙂👍
Yes it was a lot of fun, especially as All England is one of the best tournaments in the badminton calendar! Fingers crossed the crowd is back next year!
Hey guys! You are both lefties!!! Awesome!!! Great playing together, so one is always forehand! You guys were are the all England! Hats off!!! Nice to win but you were there! You are winning!!! Big cheers and jenny I can see your excitement! Thanks for sharing guys!!!
Great video as always!! Could you please create a video on how to perfect the split step? There are tons of videos out there, but your channel's videos are the most intuitive to me!
Covid has changed the world of sport so much I guess? I cant imagine how different it is to play to an empty hall and lose the amount of energy youd pull from a supportive crowd. That said, thanks for giving us a peek into lives that some of us (me at least) pretend to be living when were on court! Stay safe! Cheers!
Great vlog! Kento looks very friendly. I'm very surprised to know the drift Jenny were facing during the match. It must have been so tough adjusting. Looking forward to more vlogs.
Yes he was very nice! 😄 And unfortunately yes - it looks like there is now more of a sideways drift yesterday watching some of the matches! Thanks for the support 🤗
@@BadmintonInsight I also heard some places open up their air conditioners or windows to train players for feeling the drift, what do you guys think of that?
These vlog videos - great stuff! Hope to see some more in future with you're winning of course! ;-) Really nice to get to the backstage and sneak a peek view of PRO players life and competitions. Cheers!
Seeing you guys having fun with other pro players is such a life-affirming feeling ahah. I love seeing the insider stuff in pro badminton. Where do you guys practice? Who decides how much practice time you get? What are pro players doing on the practice courts during/before games? Stuff like that would be really cool. Also more name drops please haha also did wittinghus actually end up getting a fine?
Thank you so much! And great questions - we'll definitely try to keep including as much behind the scenes as possible! Haha, we're not sure! We'll let you know 😜
You are not the best XD badminton players, but you are one of the happiest couple. Work-Life-Balance enjoy the happening, I love ur gentle smiles, look forward to see your next video.
How are you guys not suffering muscle fatigue ahead (or during) of the match after all that training? I tend to have a reasonably intense swim beforehand but you guys are insane!
I saw the women's doubles against Malaysia and thought hey she looks familiar I've seen many training videos on RUclips before! Great to see u guys on action and all the best for future matches!
I looked up you guys's play.. just so know, I was rooting for you guys! Better luck for the next tournament. Also I can't believe Lee took out both momota and Viktor to secure the men's single title.
Great Vlog. Do you write down the things you get from your analysis of future opponents so that you don't forget and that they act as a quick reminder during the warm-up ? PS I thought you were good at the net game but Kento is just FANTASTIC !!!
Thanks Andy! Yes we add all of this to our big list of opponent analysis that we have and then usually talk through our analysis with our lead coach for the match so that he/she can remind us in the warm-up and throughout the match! Should have probably mentioned this in the vlog 😄 He was 🔥🔥🔥 The spin he got on the shuttle whilst being so relaxed is unbelievable
That is my match up I am most looking forward to Axelson totally feels like a new player much more explosive in his jumps and movments , Faster and stronger too ,,he could really turn that 14 -1 around in the next couple of years
Loved this! would have been good to hear what you noticed about the Malaysians as you went through it. The Momota content was ace though!! Do you normally train with foreign players at a tournament?
Thank you so much David 😊 We didn't want to give too much away about our analysis of them, incase we played them again in the future haha! Not usually but some European countries (England, France, Netherlands and Germany) are starting to try and do this more at tournaments!
Hi Guys.....I watched Jenny's game of Women's Double match on TV the other night...I was rooting for them but unfortunately, they were on the losing side...nevertheless, there's always next time...we see you guys only on RUclips and to actually witness Jenny play and watching her on TV I had a feeling like my sister was playing. What a crazy but fun week at the All England! We hope you guys enjoyed our Vlog series 😊🎥 Who should our next challenger be...? 🧐

It is unbelievable net skills that Momota is showing in the short clip. How is getting those back from the floor so close to the net?
It was unbelievable! So relaxed and an incredible amount of spin on the shuttle too!
