Can confirm ... Moccamaster is great
I've been looking for brewer that puts out HOT coffee. Thank you for the review!
It's so good! Love this machine!
I tested mine with a high end thermocouple temperature measuring device. The temperature directly out of the shower head was a constant 206F with a peak of 209F. That's what the Bunn coffee makers used to be able to do back in the early 90's, but then they started to import their heating elements from China. Now, you're lucky if they even peak at 200F.
Nice video, fun and informative
The brew size selector adjusts, most importantly, the flow rate. For a smaller brew, it restricts the flow rate of the brew head. I believe it also lowers the temp of the heating plate, but its primary function is to slow down the flow rate.
That's exactly what I was curious about! Thank you😀
Mine is twenty-three years old and still brews like it's brand new.
There worth every penny
Truth be told, do you wet down the coffee filter before you brew? And where to buy the best filters for Value sake? And if you're grinding your own coffee which I assume you do, what kind of grinder are you using? I just ordered mine yesterday it'll be here in a couple days.. so I guess you can tell by my questions I don't know diddly..Old Jarhead 😉
Haha just watched your other vid..There was my answer, other than where do I buy cheap filters good ones..
and you can spareparts for allmost everything to this coffe machine😀
Nice one
Thanks for watching
I’m the only coffee drinker in my house. Usually just drink about 12-16 oz a day. Would this be good?
Also it’s now on sale for $249
I’ve never seen them on sale
As a Moccamaster owner myself (and I live alone), it’s great. I usually only brew enough for a 10-12oz mug with no issues. They do go on sale occasionally, but only certain colors. (For example, polished silver goes on sale a couple times a year, but other colors seem to never go on sale). If you see your favorite color on sale, grab it.
Would you recommend this glass one over the thermos version?
Not sure I have only had this one. The warmer is on for about an hour and I usually put it in a thermal cup like a Yeti
Is that polished or brushed finish, please?
Polished silver.. this color is perfect 🩶
They do not make a secret of how it keeps warm.
when you only make 2-4 cups, is it still delicious?
Yep... do it all the time, usually a 5 cup.
NO! That was the biggest problem I had with the moccamaster and why I got rid of it!!! If you want a small batch, or god forbid just a single cup, the moccamaster will make weak not as hot coffee even when in half carafe mode. If you want an SCA approved machine that makes large and small batches equally well, get an OXO 8 cup, Zwilling or Cafe Specialty. You can adjust the amount of cups all the way down to just one on those machines. Best part, the flavor is superb, just as good as when making a larger batch. The Oxo and Zwilling run about $200 and the Cafe Specialty is around $300. The Cafe is also programable and you can even use it with an app to start your coffee in bed on your phone. Moccamaster is great for larger batches, makes excellent coffee, but no so great if you live alone or just want one or two cups.
thank you so much!@@Meyerc-yv2bi
@homecookbasics is what Mereyc is saying g true? Please do tell. AND are your sponsored by MM
@3americanpie the difference between this one and the one the other dude is talking about is this one has a selector for the half pot (4 European cups/16oz min recommended). The old ones did not have that, and would have issues with brewing
Does the hot plate burn the coffee after a while sitting there?
No, it works great. I think its on for 2 hrs
