12:40 those cylinders look like molds to sample concrete. Once concrete is cured the concrete cylinders are put in a press to test compressive strength. It's a shame they were wasted but oh well.
That last piece out of the green dumpster has a massive compressed spring that works in conjunction with a large truck air brake system. Do NOT take it apart unless you know exactly what your doing!!!! Enough energy in that spring to kill or maim!!!!
The radio is a tower mounted radio that goes behind the Cellular antenna they are used for 4g service fiber optic line runs into the radio this avoids the signal drop Runing through the coax to the ground
Hello Thub. I really enjoy your content. By the way I worked in telecommunications for 8 years here in Missouri. We used Ericsson products. You are right about that RRU being worth a lot and about them being challenging to resell. Your best bet may be to find companies that refurbish them. Even though they may appear to be new likely they wouldn't throw them away if there wasn't something wrong with them internally. However, even if there was something wrong with them a company who refurbishs them would still place a high value on them and have the means to make them serviceable. I wished I was able to scrap from my telecom company when I worked there. I highly recommend you keep visiting that place or even better make a friend there who can inform you when they are getting rid of mounting hardware or devices like the RRUs, switches, coax cable, even scraps of very thick cable or antennas [which is the huge pile of devices you first came across at that location]. The antennas you saw are what are installed on cellular towers. They are replaced when they go out and since there are usually many in a market they seemed to me to be replaced fairly regularly. The antennas will likely have 3 metal stripps down the length of them that may be worth your time plus the end with the connectors. I'm curious if you would find them to be worth your time. They may make an interesting video. Blessings brother. I'll keep doing the thing & leaving it better than I found it along with you.
made a bill today walking.....found a good bin full of copper bass and wire......you are a true scrap soldier like myself....keep making the vids dude.....cheers from toronto
At 7:25, he left a couple deposit containers, which he could easily grab with a picker stick (I use Nifty Nabber from Home Depot, $25 Can, has magnet). Also, use picker stick to pick up garbage around bin, so you're not blamed & people see you respecting property.
Hello from the Oregon coast, my name is Tyler, I work at a scrap yard and I'm the non-ferrous guy. It's really cool the difference and things that are the same. But really cool what your doing, the video and showing what's in it to win it.
When you mentioned new people I went to see which video popped off, 2 in a row! One was 5 best such and such and the other was 10 things this and that. RUclips is telling you something lol, it wants your knowledge in the form of 5 best and 10 things
I am new to scraping not to the extent that you and others are at i just do not have the room to go that far into it. I am mostly scrapping copper and i was wondering how do you get the coating off of copper from alternators , transformers , starter motors just to name a few. i am a new subscriber to your videos and enjoy them very much. A fan from Medicine Hat Alberta.
I used to work in a scrap yard and did all the copper people brought in. Coated wires as in that clear plastic stuff is left on and the copper is graded as no.2. This also applies to the dark colored dyed windings. Every company is different but this is how we did it.
Do not try to burn it off, most scrapyards don’t even accept it that way. As said, just turn it in as #2 wire, they don’t knock it down that much in price.
Gary, Thub has a video about a couple of wire strippers he tested. You may want to check them out. They use a drill and seem like something I'll invest in at some point as I too am just getting into scrapping. Blessings!
Have watched your videos for a while now, have not made a comment, until now. Have not subscribed. Did not know you were a family man. Good for you. Subscribing, now.
There antennas for phone towers not much metal aluminum, some brass gold plated ends lot of little screws to take off lot of fiberglass trash love your videos
Had my biggest scrap run yet yesterday 121$ in non ferrous and 636 in no1 insulated(173 pounds) No1 copper(46 pounds) No 3 electric motor copperwire(65 pounds)
I am so not jealous of you and the weather you have. I hate low teens in the winter... I couldn't do it for much more than a month or so a year! Lol! Awesome care package!
That brake chamber that you found be extremely careful if you decided to take it apart it's spring loaded and extremely deadly i just throw them in shred
The reason i asked was that i seen a video where a person said you could use acetone to get the varnish or the coating off it really wouldnt work for me my self because i work in my home so not an option. I was just curious if anyone else heard of this method.
The blue water buckets you might want to use to hold small parts. This way roads not accidentally fall out and get into yours or other people's tire. And they can make more room in your back. Or use them as a tool carry.( tool tub) cut where you desire! Just a little tip from a little panda! Haha
Those heavy-duty brackets probably used to mount the 5G things. Also the 5G things probably have serious copper inside. Why else would it be so heavy 🤔. That was some good treasures despite the snow covering everything. Stay warm brother & happy hunting.
I was looking for good ways to make money as a young teen, and I found your channel. But some of this stuff is stuff I don't know how to do, or I'm too scared to try. Any tips? For now I've been collecting bottles and cans, but that's it
#5, cuz. One thing I noticed is that you haven't been recycling beverage containers. Do you still do that or the redemption is dried up? Heck you went ape-poop crazy on that! Guaranteed some substantial change.
As someone who makes cad drawings for cell tower and Mount "fixes" that it's one of the coolest finds. I would have been all over that dumpster looking for other parts just to keep! Basic description of an rru: These transceivers connect wireless devices with wireless networks, making it possible to send and receive text messages, among other things
Part of me is envious you have such easy access to so many open tops, until I see the snow and freezing temps in your part of Canada. 12c here today. And congrats to the increase in subs.
Hello from Hope B.C from a fellow scrap/ scavenging man. I think you should take those gloves and leave them in a dumpster. Shame on hockey Canada, this comes from a 10yr hockey dad.
Watch the show every morning at dialysis. Watch a lot at home as well. Grateful for the tips and pointers. Happy hunting....Kevin
I love scrapping and scrapping videos. I use scrapping videos for a reference and refresher.
Even in the snow, you are still putting in the work! This sets a really good example for the younger generation 👏
It's Canada 🇨🇦 it's always winter. Lol
"Bin There, Dump That" - Awesome!

Very true!

Blessings brother. I'll keep doing the thing & leaving it better than I found it along with you.
I just remembered the company that we sent our parts to be refurbished is called CBRE. Hope that helps. Blessings!
Hi Thub, my baseball shirt arrived today. It's great, thanks ever so much. I'm now officially a Trash Panda 😄👍
me thinks the long equipment you were next to talking about asking, is part of the 5g equipment for a full cell tower.
made a bill today walking.....found a good bin full of copper bass and wire......you are a true scrap soldier like myself....keep making the vids dude.....cheers from toronto
Still watching you man, it's been years you got that package (container box) from me, cool you still remember! ~ stay safe man, Mark (Netherlands)

Oooh snow, sooo cold..
I suddenly just got hungry !! 😋. Thub, those things at 13.14 look like cell phone tower transmitters, did you go and ask about them ?? 👍
The cylinders with covers look like concrete test cylinders. The scoop they use to fill them.
Yes they look like 4" x 6" cylinders to test concrete compressive strength
Miss all those back alleys behind homes in Calgary. Hardly an here in Cambridge \ Kitchener area.
Those grey cylinders are usually for concrete/grout samples, fyi.
Great video as always, keep it up!
Nice load Thub!
Let's go in and ask!
Instantly skips to next container 😃 guess that was a no 😂
You should ask some of the better locations if you can leave a garbage can induce for metal only. They maybe willing to.
There antennas for phone towers not much metal aluminum, some brass gold plated ends lot of little screws to take off lot of fiberglass trash love your videos
Nice grabbed a steelwall stud. I watch mike the scavenger and he hates those things. Keep the videos coming thub
Got hit some snow bit early here, gotta go pick me up some warm work gloves since i used all mine up last winter.
The Netherlands is Dutch Holland is in the Netherlands.
Every time I see the wires. I think the shredder people gonna hate that. Haha
Telecom, cell tower antennas, some aluminum and brass. A lot o plastic and/or fiberglass.
Had my biggest scrap run yet yesterday 121$ in non ferrous and 636 in no1 insulated(173 pounds)

Can the plastic from appliances and other items be recycled?
The reason i asked was that i seen a video where a person said you could use acetone to get the varnish or the coating off it really wouldnt work for me my self because i work in my home so not an option. I was just curious if anyone else heard of this method.

Hi just that song ha ha sufi dance I keep singing it
quick question is 10rw30 wire when stripped bare bright or #2? its stranded wire but idk cause its kinda thick
that raido thing pulls up a listing on ebay for $900. Also another listing for $1534.50. looks like its a cell site device. Never mind you know lol.
You didn't ask about the metal things behind that commercial business?
just remember to save your dice for table top RPGs such as D and D
Those heavy-duty brackets probably used to mount the 5G things. Also the 5G things probably have serious copper inside. Why else would it be so heavy 🤔. That was some good treasures despite the snow covering everything. Stay warm brother & happy hunting.
Go get that free scrap mate no matter how cold it is lol
Alot of time those green dumpster are recycling and are not always fair game cause someone else wanted to cash out

don't throw the pumpkins🎃 away ? eat them.
You should throw in some heavy metal music clips when you say "metal"!
That sounds hilarious and I’ll keep it in mind 😆

Might want to bring your magnet fishing rig for out of reach items…
Might not be fun for you, but it is fun for... me at least :D
