You mentioned that lack of proper footwear, some are limited to the work they can get. I've always known that you have a huge heart, with the way you work. With you wanting to find a good home for those boots meaning someone can get the job they want sealed my assumption of your heart once more! Kudos!
As for bottles, best day was July 1 Canada Day at Alberta Legislature when I made $240, but I worked 24 hours, all night, had flashlight, hex wrench to open garbages & gloves for diapers. As soon as Sun came up time was up because cleaners with blowers showed up, except I could still jump in the remaing bin, ripped open all bags & threw bottles outside. I crushed all bottles into 4 bags, & tied 2 bags together on each shoulder. Glass got stashed in gravel box at transit station, which I came back for. Weather has to be perfect & it helped that welfare recipients were busy partying. I also found booze & food. At $10/hr, you have to be open to salvaging food too -- if it's clean.
Good brass finds! Brass is my favorite metal to find, I just love all the places it pops up. When I started scrapping I happened across the dumpster being used to clear out the old Lutheran school in my neighborhood. It was an old school building with brass everything. The building was being refurbished before being sold to a charter school and they threw out everything including what must have been the maintenance guys storehouse of spare parts: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, even a bunch of old wall mount pencil sharpeners. Good times!
The worst part about watching you dumpster dive (actually anyone that dumpster dives), is seeing you struggle trying to get an item(s) out of the dumpster and I want to jump through the screen and help you out but I can't! Great finds! Looking forward to the scrapyard run!!
For me the worst part is how it's all mixed together, which means it's ALL ending up in a landfill. Here in Italy you'd never see this except in places where assholes have dumped some trash illegally.
I'm amazed by the amount of rugs I see dumped, they're not that hard to clean if you have a pressure washer and a squeegee, the pressure washer doesn't even have to be a big one.
I hear you on that. Most people dont have the time, energy, or desire to learn simple stuff. As well as get the basic tools. It really is unfortunate creates more waste and people spend more hard earned money. 🍻
@@E-hab True, but if you can get one then it makes it a lot faster, and you'll get better results. I've done it both ways and my back likes the pressure washer better
Been known to take them to a coin-operated car Wash. The kind that has clips on the wall to hang your car's floor mats. Then you just put in some quarters and power wash away! It even includes soap. The point is you don't have to own a pressure washer to get your rugs clean fast and cheap.
Reasoning behind nitrous in paintball is to not freeze internals and go through a million o-rings due to co2 freezing, way better alternative using no2, longer lasting guns and parts gaskets etc
That's why it pays to have new friends in different places they can give you info on places that might be good for you when you're doing what Thud does.
Now let this be a lesson my Crazy Canadian Bohemian Cousin, sometimes you need to dig through the trash to find the GOLD. Whoop, there it iiiissssz! Hope you like that bronze alloy with the maple 🍁.......
What I usually do with longer poles to make them fit is, I put it up under the back of the truck and then you can lift up on it. Works pretty good for most long poles or pipes.
I gotta say, when I first saw you, I wasn't too impressed. But as I continue to watch you, you seem to be getting better all the time. Now I can't wait to see your next video.
I swear I live in the only Canadian city where no open top bins are put out on the street - here every bin/construction area is fenced, secured 24/7 and enforced by Dumpster Rangers.
On site stripping is the way forward, i collect on my walks . So if it dont fit in my backpack i cant have it , so stripping the goodness on site helps
Way to go you found two of the treasures plastic bottles and aluminum cans aluminum cans are worth more than aluminum siding trust me. Why do you pass up doors with metal handles on them either brass or titanium?
It’s kinda hard to get rid of those tanks at about the 10 minute mark - gotta kinda hide them in your regular house trash (a simple way to rid of them) …. What do they sell for? Or is it just considered junk metal?
For your safety when you run the risk of stepping on nails inside of dumpsters get a pair of safety shoes with steel inserts that are in the bottom of the shoes. I will gladly send you the funds to purchase them. Let me know how to get you the funds. A small contribution on my part for watching a dedicated and hard working guy.
Scrap prices are horrific in my city. Greedy bastards are giving .25 per lb on clean aluminum and $1.50 a pound for clean brass. Copper is $2.75 per lb for clean. Total rip offs
I like watching this stuff it's therapeutic but he puts all that effort in for bigger pieces of metal but the second big dumbster I saw I literally counted $50 worth of just cans he just ignored like where I live it's up to .45 cents a can. you can collect cans for less effort and be paid basically more
Yes it’s considered abandoned property if it’s been set out to the curb for trash pickup which allows the police to search your garbage for evidence of a crime without requiring a search warrant.
I use a bag for cans and bottles, sort of like a feed bag, it would save a little time. No offense but , your OCD is off the charts, you dilly daly in the field way to much. Why screw two pieces of threaded pipe together, that you are scrapping ?

This lumber worth gold nowadays...
Great video
you indecisiveness cracks me up sometimes...lol
I drive roll off truck so I'm around dumpsters all day , everyday, there is always pile of copper in my storage unit !
Nice!
You're job definitely saves you from needing a gym membership.
Great finds!!
Adding a comment for the algorithm.

my grandpa has brass bars like that foe foot rests along the bottom front on his old western bar in his basement! very nice score!
those boots are the good $$ ones :D You can always donate them to the scrapyard guys
Nice video, a long type one...
Those 2x4s and 2x6s are worth more than the metal you picked up :p. Still close to a buck a foot.

Totally get that notion. Find myself want to yell through the screen some good info to help him out of a frustrating situation.

@@TheRealRedFlashlight good idea and simple didnt think of that
There is a guy that washes rugs on his you tube channel, quite satisfying to watch.
That lumber looked good lumber being still high in the states
Worth more then his truck that amount of lumber lol

Use the hammer thub! Use the hammer! Smash that sink to pieces! 😂. Nice vid! Tc
Fox fork should be worth it for resale.
They were broken.
I sure do love me a nice long dumpster dive!
almost nothing in that blue bin belongs in the blue bin lol.
I know! 😂😭
Another awsome video
good finds nice weather
If scrapping was my only job I would be grabbing things like those boots, cleaning em up and sellin em.
Always cool how you find containers & bags to reuse

Amazing video, can't wait for your next one.
Good call on the boots 👢
The fork suspension may be expensive too, I'd love a follow up for what ya did with the tanks and suspension
On that sink drain. The very top is a separate piece threaded on.
Great vid
What does he mean it's OK not to get brass out of sink. As a last resort, I'd smash sink with hammer to get it out. When in doubt, smash.
You forgot the big o laying right there. Its worth lots of money

That actually sounds pretty clever 👌
great finds Bro!
Thanks Bush dog!
Those wheel hubs probably came off of a “dooley” (dually) truck. Nice find!
Oh, could be!
The valves inside inner tubes are brass.
Awesome finds as usual.

The fox forks are worth some cash on ebay, resell before scrap
They were broken.
Awesome scores! Thx for helping inspire me to do my own scrap videos :)
use the regular dumpsters part where they pick it up to bend bars or under the open door one
Yep! Learned that quickly and have shown others the “trick”. 👍🏻
In that bin were your friend (bottle and can friend) said was load of scrap, a mobile phone slipped down as you dug a little deeper,,
It must be dumpster season!! 😁
Getting into it now!
I swear I live in the only Canadian city where no open top bins are put out on the street - here every bin/construction area is fenced, secured 24/7 and enforced by Dumpster Rangers.
Do you do your treasure hunt during the winter too?
I miss paint ball, well speedball which is tiny 3 man team course
Good number of dumpsters, but they were a little light on rewards. Still not too shabby, especially those truck rotors. 👍
True, but it still felt like a decent afternoon 😁 guess I just have to start hitting more dumpsters per day!
That's why I Carrie a recipe saw
Carrie might want her recipe back. She is trying to cook dinner.
Why dont you clip the handles of the buckets off?
"It all adds up"

Pains me seeing all that good wood scrapped. Can’t save everything though
hoping you didnt scrap the nitrous paintball tank, co2 cheap nitrous resell good money

I guess I commented a little early .. so you use them for a soda stream or just refill them, aye???
You said to leave it better than you find it but at 22:22 take the hubs but left the trash on the floor...
22:04 I’m pretty sure those are breaks for a dually

Isn't a dumpster or garbage can considered private property?
Yes , so don't ever take the dumpsters or garbage cans.I😄
In the USA, dumpster diving has been declared legal by the Supreme Court, as long as you are not trespassing.
Yes it’s considered abandoned property if it’s been set out to the curb for trash pickup which allows the police to search your garbage for evidence of a crime without requiring a search warrant.
Keep your stick on the ice.
😆🤙
👽👽❤❤
Why do you collect cans and bottles.
10 cent deposit
Good finds....Is the grunting and groaning added for Our benefit or are you just that feeble?
Do you ever get yelled at I feel like if you do you don't show it
I show it every single time I get yelled at 😆 that’s good content! It very rarely happens though
