One of the most beautiful ride I've ever been. Due my health, I don't think I'd make it to a second visit to CP. I'm willing to trade my soul to ride Gatekeeper at least ONE MORE TIME in my life. If you read this, please keep having fun in remembrance of me!
❤️❤️❤️
Hugs, I will every time I ride.
Wow! I pray some way some how you get to fulfill this desire again. Bless you and I wish you a longer life than you’d ever expect🙏🏽✨
All the best ❤️🙏🏽
Huh? I have no clue who you are. How can I do anything in remembrance of you?
I just love the design and aesthetic of gatekeeper
This might be the most underrated coaster I’ve ever ridden, like it’s legit one of the best B&Ms, and ranks 20th out of 135 credits
The clicking sound as the train leaves the station is so satisfying and terrifying
its really fun bc sometimes the cp employees clap to it
That looks robustly engineered to be safe. I really like the seating looks high quality.
The manufacturer, Boliger and Mabillard (B&M) are renowned for producing some of the most reliable and safe rollercoasters around, you can see it well in this video as the cars start up the lift hill, you can see just how thick and heavy the steel chassis on the cars are. I don't know how heavy each one is, But I've worked with a lot of heavy equipment and steel, by eye each car on the train is at least 3000 pounds. The interesting thing is that the further back you sit, especially on the outside seats, you can feel this resonant vibration travel through the wing and your seat as it goes through high load maneuvers, so if you do ride one try and get close to the front and the inside for a smooth experience. You can actually hear the rattle in a few spots, around 1:40 its pretty audible.
Incrível como aguenta tanto peso
Yeah, feels super safe and smooth. The best spot to ride is definitely the back.
@@cygnus024 It must have been a blast! I would love to take a ride some day.
@@allenpost3616 cedar point is a must
This is a good warmup ride not too scary but has the feeling of thrill with the feeling of smoothness making it kind of relaxing will always be one of my favs
what is the best 4 scares?
@@GTAWildestPolicechasesMillie, SteVe, Maverick, Top thrill 2 (when it opens again)
Have you ridden this ride? I decided to try some software stabilization to smooth out the footage a bit, you may see some black edges pop up now and then but it definitely reduced the shakiness of the video. Comment below. Hey question, I am going on this ride in a couple weeks and wanted to know if the seats are really secure.
I rode it on Saturday. I thought it was smooth, and I'm 6'5", 290 lbs.
@@bpschmidt4707 thanks
My 13 y/o daughter absolutely loves this ride. We rode it about 10 times last week when we were there.
@@dm1tr3y76 seat is kinda deep and the restraint is like a rubberized vest . Absolutely no way you could come out
I was there last year towards the end of August. The park was dead it was during the week. The line for Gatekeeper was very short. I road Gatekeeper 5 times in a row that day. Three times in the frount. I absolutely love this ride
I did the same 3 times on a row,
Next day I was a mess! Severe headache and body aches, I made the dumb mistake of riding this one an other ones because the park had short lines and yeah not so safe 😥
Reminds me a lot of the wild eagle at Dollywood. B&M coasters are so smooth.
I love seeing pov from the back! To see the front twist and turn before me is so cool to watch! Thanks, just subscribed !
I find that the back is better for the drops as well because you get pulled down more quickly
The first time i went to Cedar Point, I got to ride this at night 5-6 times in a row cause the line was so short. So much fun!!!!
I live in NJ and always wanted to go to Cedar Point since I was a kid. Going for the first time this summer and can't wait to ride this! It'll probably be my first ride of the day! I've never been on a wing coaster and can't believe more parks don't have them!
@@mikebaglione1536 Hope you have fun!
@@ShadowForce271 thank you! Can't wait!
Such a graceful fun ride
The ride is kind of relaxing. Nice and smooth.
@@ThemeParkPOV next time dont sit at the back seat :( sit at the front seat
And rides like this is why i want to go to cedar point before i am too old!!! Awesome.
Amazing!! Never seen a first drop like this one.🙀🤓
I love this ride and I don't care what the haters say. For me, I love the front row end eat because I feel like I'm flying like a peaceful bird. It's all about the views of Lake Erie for me baby!!! So calm, serene, and blue. The ride is buttery smooth. The one flaw is them wicked restraints, but I always tell myself that the Gatekeeper is just being a hardass on who he lets in the hallowed halls of America's Roller Coast.
Looks like a smooth ride, not too many screams.. The drops must not be too bad... Looks like a fun ride that you won't loose your voice on...lol
Nice, smooth and yes,👇 Graceful Ride. I don't ride rollercoasters, but if I had to choose one, it would be this.
Looks amazing and original design...I am from England so probably will never see this but enjoy everyone.👍
Doc, I'm also from England but live 1.5hrs away from CP. I went yesterday and I'll dedicate my ride to you 🙂🙃🙂
This ride is a completely different experience in the back row. Definitely what I prefer on GateKeeper.
Its nice on the inside, on the outside it beats you up quite a bit, but thats not a gatekeeper problem thats just a wing coaster problem.
@@uu9rj I kind of like getting beat up. Not like Mean Streak-style, but I'm good with a little whip. I'm a fan of X2 and the coaster at New York, New York in Vegas (whatever they call it now).
@@CampLo When did you go on the one in Vegas? I heard the changed the restraints so theyre much more comfortable.
@@uu9rj Years ago. Prior to COVID. It was definitely rough but I still enjoyed it. If they changed the restraints, I should go back
This looks awesome. Haven't been to Cedar Point in many years. Miss that place.
Pretty tame speed wise, but the tight curves and dangly legs are dope.
the one thing i hate about living in TExas is that i am so far away from Cedar Point...I miss going there so much
Think yourself lucky Spangelina I live in the UK.
There are theme parks in the UK too.
@@edwardholmes91 nah not a single one anywhere mate.
its so kool when it goes thru that keyhole element.
I would ride this coaster at Cedar Point. SOUNDS AND LOOKS FUN!
I miss peak Cedar Point which was in the mid-1980s. Double Ferris wheel close to the entrance along with the Demon Drop and also great dark rides like the San Francisco Earthquake and the Pirate Ride - those were comfy times at The Point!
You think peak Cedar Point was before it had almost all of its most famous and iconic rides?
Well now it’s basically just a roller coaster park. Too many steel coasters but that’s the trend nowadays. CP was super comfy in the 80s!. More laid back and enjoyable.
@@planetfabulous5833 I suppose that’s what makes it stand out from all the others. Because it’s a place full of mostly coasters. It probably wouldn’t be as notable of a park without them.
One of my favorites
Now that's my kind of roller coaster!!!
I saw myself in the video :0
Awesome coaster, terrific video!
Seemed so peaceful
It’s actually a really great looking peice of engineering
A fantastic experience in a great park!!!!
Love this ride!
Love this ride. Great theming
Ngl I would fall asleep on this ride and not in a bad way, in the way it’s that smooth.
I just find the engineering so satisfying
That was WAY too short and should last longer.
You did a great job with this video!!! 😊😊😊😊😊
I was just on a band cedar point trip and the entrance we used for marching was right by gatekeeper
I think this is another one that is a bit underrated. Graceful and very re ridable coaster.
that was better than space mountain in real life
Love this one!
This looks very similar to The Swarm at Thorpe Park (another B&M Wing Coaster).
Yea first drop is identical
Which do you prefer to be on when it twists?
I prefer overtop.
It looks so smooth 😍
Reminds me of Thorpe Park Swarm ride, almost identical from start to finish nearly but so fun
cedar point never disappoints. haaaaaaaa.
This was my first ever B&M wing coaster!
I think this coaster is also in a theme park in Germany - different name but very similar. Just went there couple of weeks ago. Heidepark Soltau - Flight of the Demon (Flug der Dämonen).
There's also The Swarm at Thorpe Park.
Also X- Flight at Six Flags Great America
@Yulianti FNU, Please don’t ever say that your willing to “trade your soul” for anything. I understand what you’re saying because I have M.S., Syringomyelia, Lupus, and Endometriosis and chronic pain. In 2016, I temporarily lost the ability to walk. I believe by God’s Grace and the medical care I was able to relearn to walk. Keep your spirits up and you never know what might happen. I know some days are better than others. Never say or think “never.” I haven’t been to Cedar Point since 2012 and I live in Southern CA. I watch these videos on Cedar Point because it brings me happy memories of when I would visit with my late Nana and Papa and my family. My late Papa was my ride partner and he loved roller coasters. He would have loved this one and the newer coasters that Cedar Point have added. The last time I went to Cedar Point with them was in the Summer of 1994. God knows if/when I will get to return and I believe the same for you. He has a plan for all of us. My mother is in her mid ‘70’s and returning to Cedar Point is one of the things on her “Bucket List.” She was born and raised in Bellevue, OH, so she has many fond memories of Cedar Point and Lake Erie. I wish you all the best and I will pray that one day soon you’ll be able to return to Cedar Point and ride this and all of the other rides you enjoy.
Sweet ride
I'm dying to ride this, All I have is a Foto .I heard it's way rougher now BUT still really FUN .
that looks pretty epic!
Awesome!
I always hate that steep incline lol it’s worse than the drop to me
Oh yeah, I'd ride this!!
GateKeeper in the back is a completely different animal to the front
That looks so fun 😊
Wow so cool
Looks like Thorpe parks - the swarm
It's my dream to go to cedar point. Looks fucking amazing
Don't lose that dream. I've waited over 40 years to go, and I'm scheduled to go in Oct for the first time. A little bummed Dragster is down, but they've got so many great rides, I'm sure I'll keep busy.
Make it a bucket list item, like I did, and eventually it'll happen.
That jank be sweet.
My dad was a janitor here back in the 70s, he said after the park closed, he'd clean up the areas around roller coasters, he said he'd find at least 3 pairs of shitted up underware, he started hanging them in the back of the maintenance shop, he said within a year, a 20 x 15 foot wall was covered in those underwares, yuck
Solid.
Superbe 👍, j aimerai bien le monté celui-ci, sensations comme je les aimes cependant.😁
Superb 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
crazy
This is a great ride but for some reason it’s gotten pretty rough over the years
I rode it this past weekend and didn't think it was rough...I'm also 6'5" 290 lbs...
@@bpschmidt4707 depends on which seat you sit in. Some seats I sat in had a rattle. Overall it’s still a great ride. I like it better than raptor
Really enjoyed your video!
I keep having intrusive thoughts about getting to ride GK )
Bucket list.
It looks fun, but the better version of it is at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia CA. Basically the same thing, except the seats have a free °360 swivel adding some spice to it.
#X2
Is this a copy of SWARM in the uk
This looks like the wild eagle at Hollywood which is fun
I noticed it’s very similar to x-flight st six flags great America, we’re they both made by the same company?
I know it’s 2 years later but what do you record with?
I'm so jealous
No swivele chair? I'd love to see an X2 car on this track.
I feel like coasters need to be longer. Short coasters were decent a while back but now I feel like MOST arent worth it. Like Sheikra at bush gardens. Great coaster when it first came out. Now I look at it like geesh it would be so much more worth it if it were a longer coaster.
There is not enough money in the world to make me go on that ride
Probably the only ride I like the last row on.
Front view would have been better. But thanks for the ride.
Next year will be Gatekeeper’s tenth anniversary🤯
I rode in 2013. Wow 10 years... also rode mantis as a stand up and mean streak
Crazy I rode it when it first came out in 2013
Noisy ride🧐
My fear isn't riding the coaster it's the possibility of someone barfing that scares me
Love to go on this, but doubt be going to USA any time soon
I was just there yesterday til closing time because we get passes every year cause I live 45 minutes away.
Which theme park??
cedar point
Howd this person get on with camera?
x2 is better but the scenery on this ride is breathtaking
First time in my life Riding a Rollercoaster and guess who was the First One !!!!! GATE KEEPER 😭😭😭😂😂😂😂🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Nice !!
👍👍
Its just like x2
What camera are you using?
Oho 4k pro video sunglasses
Wish I could . So scary
Wanna know how we say Roller Coasters in french? Russian Mountains. I kid you not 😆
Like de fenix from toverland
X flight is better, but people will say gatekeeper is ONLY because it’s at cedar point
Or because they, like me, have been riding both since they debuted and believe what we believe
I like Thunderbird at Holiday World over X Flight and GateKeeper because of the launch in the beginning.
X 2 at Six Flags magic mountain has this beat because you flip over through out the ride at 76mph. It's the top wing coaster out there.
@@leonardclay4804 😆
@@leonardclay4804 bro that’s a 4d coaster not a traditional wing coaster. We’re talking about the ones made by b&m
17,452nd!!!
i’m going on august 12
Yup that’s bout the closest I’ll ever ride something like this!
Geez us don’t know how y’all do it
