- As is fully evident in this video, the entrance to Cedar Point has forever changed with the addition of GateKeeper - the park's new for 2013 B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) wing coaster. The station stands where Disaster Transport/Avalanche Run was located and the coaster wraps around to the front of the park and back again sailing high over main entrance.
Check out the rider cam POV video we posted to see what our first ride on GateKeeper was like: • GateKeeper ridercam on...
Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio.

This is such a beautiful coaster to watch and look at.
But boring to ride
That's both the same thing isn't it?
Damn right
@@ethanblue94 no way
@@ethanblue94 Shut up
So this is the video where the audio is from for all of the new ride animation videos!
true it does sound like fake screams from animation videos
This coaster is enjoyable to simply watch.
LOVE the twist through the walls...That's original, and it's about damn time too! Looks terrifyingly awesome! Super stoned...Maybe. Sober, NO. LOL
Visited Cedar Point earlier this month, my girlfriend rode it stoned and loved the hell out of it. Lol
i was looking for a comment admiring that cause i thought it looked soo sick 😭 & i love the stoned part cause i’m shmoking while watching this 💀
I LOVE that shot from 5:50-6:07. Epic!
A wonderful ride and a beautiful machine. Pro Tip: The back seats on the very left or right sides, are the best.
This was the first roller coaster I had ever ridden! It's amazingly smooth and so fun! (The rougaroo is fun as well~!)
Such an under-appreciated ride.
what a great ride, so smooth too, but my favorite it the maverick, with the raptor and millenium force at a close second
BEST RIDE EVER! The wait was SOOOO worth the best moments of my life
LarissaShea go ride maverick
LarissaShea then you haven’t experienced much in your life
I, occasionally, watch these theme park and amusement park reviews. Everyone who does these reviews are usually roller coaster enthusiasts and when it's Cedar Point they are reviewing they often say the Gatekeeper is among their least favorite AND that statistics show they are not alone. They say ridership is among the lowest of any of the coasters at Cedar Point. I don't think they are lying since every time my son and I have tried to ride it the wait has been minimal. But, my son and I are always HAPPY this is the case because we happen to LOVE this roller coaster. Frankly, it's my favorite roller coaster EVER and, trust me, I've been on A LOT of roller coasters. In fact, every time I ride it I say that whoever invented it was BRILLIANT. THE very first drop with the immediate inversion is so damn fun plus, no matter how many times you ride it you're always convinced your feet are going to hit the cement part of the "keyhole" openings. I absolutely LOVE this coaster and I don't understand the low ridership whatsoever. Yeah, it's at the front the park and nowhere near most of the other coasters but, imo, this is a plus, not a negative. If you've ever thought to try it but haven't, for whatever reason, you really must. I actually think this one is better for first time coaster riders than even the Gemini despite the fact that the Gemini doesn't go upside down. I think this because the Gatekeeper has a much safer "feeling" with the over the head restraints AND I think the ride is much smoother than most. I think this is a great combination for a first time coaster rider or a nervous coaster rider. It's not boring at all either, not by a long shot. I still love this coaster and will ride it multiple times this summer if Cedar Point is open under normal operating conditions this summer. We didn't go last year because they were making entry sound unbearable. I.E. half capacity on the actual rides and then masks required EVERYWHERE, including ON THE RIDES. On a 85° day, with even moderate humidity, this sounded more like torture to all of us than a good time. Hope it's better this year. We missed our multiple trips to Cedar Point last summer.

Huge respect

A Ba Ba Ba...I'm lovin it

Are you talking about the McDonald's song?
Isn't that copyright looks like Taylor's trouble
I'm going to Cedar Point in a month. I can't freaking wait to ride this coaster. Back seat, left side!
Love to ride Gatekeeper while listening to Gatecreeper. Winning combination..
This is by far the best off ride footage of GK that I have ever seen. I was there on media day when this was filmed.. I had a blast. I love the variety of shots in the video.. great job :)
Man that thing is a capacity machine! What a gorgeous ride! I bet it feels amazing.
I love that people sound HAPPY on this ride. Everyone is laughing, it's not just blood curdling shrieks of terror lol. I much prefer a coaster that is FUN than one that makes me want to pass out. Not everything is about pushing limits and setting speed/height/force records. Just have fun!!
This was closed for both of the days I came to ceder point. I really wanted to ride this one so hopefully next year when I go it will be open 🥲🥲
This coaster has the most aesthetically pleasing inversions
I live in Western New York, our local theme park is Darien Lake. We went to Cedar Point over the summer and this was the first coaster I rode. I absolutely loved it. This park is great, along with Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Maverick were all great coasters. I hope I can go back someday.
I was about to say, the audio sounds familiar
Such a beautiful B&M.
Cedar Fair's CEO said in an interview that there are no other winged coasters on the docket right now for any of their other parks. He also has said they generally work with a five year plan for each park... but sometimes they decide on an idea and it is implemented in just a couple years.
@SixSlicerFX yeah same. Swarm I have been on forwards and backwards, this one looks awesome! I love flying coasters like Air or Manta and winged coasters.
1:05 1:40 omgomgomg these are the sound effects for almost all the animated coaster promo vids!!!😂
This looks and sounds so smooth!
Probably the best looking most graceful coaster out there 🎢 B&m know what they are doing
I like that they used this screaming and coaster sounds for the animated promos
We don't have roller coasters like this in colorado! Going in 7 days and I'm PSYCHED!
Definitely one on my bucket list. Not because the money is because I want to face my fears in this coaster.
wing coasters are so satisfying to watch
Great Video! I bet that airtime is beyond AWESOME!!!
beautiful maneuvers 😍
to be up front, i am fat and when riding regular b&m otr's i need the double seatbelts. what are my chances of fitting on the new wingrider restraints?
Incredible design
The iconic screaming
Looks amazing! I've never ridden a Wingrider before but I want to so bad!!
I love this coaster
Why is there a ride dummy in the left front seat in a lot of these shots?
i'm so excite, i get to ride this in a few weeks
How do you rank this compared to coasters such as X-Flight and Wild Eagle?
Im curious as to why you guys prefer x flight over gatekeeper though, please reply :-)
coaster force ive been on this once and i love it but i didnt got a chance to do it again i wish i chould ride it 10 times
What's the better side to sit on? And front or back? I'm going next month.
Why is there still a test dummy in one of the cars?
The lift is completely INSANE!
Random comment coaster force you going to Alton Towers For the smiler this year?
Amazing
What is the point of that block/break section right before the end of the ride. There is only like a 200 more feet (Total guess) before the end of the ride.
+Airboss
Yeah I know that but that would only give them like 12 extra seconds. It just seems pointless so close to the end of the ride.
That's actually a good thought. Cedar Point doesn't have too many backwards coasters (wicked twister), and the swarm was doing so
It's not bias if they just don't like the coasters as much as the ones at other parks. Ask many of our members, Top Thrill Dragster, GateKeepr, and Millennium Force have made many of their top tens. TTD even holds #10 in EastCoasterGeneral's rankings. More than plenty of CF members also have Cedar Point ranked as their favorite park, as well.
Even though its way smaller and shorter? Cool opinion, is there any site where you review the rollercoasters of parks you've been too?
hey COASTERFORCE, this is a random question, but are you going to do Hades 360 this summer?
It looks excellent, but why does it sound like a B&M hyper and a B&M invert?
This is my new favorite ride in the park. Cedar Point is the best park in #Everdom
Looks fun
This is fun af
I agree with Trevor...I heard this was not very thrilling...I like the Eltorro at Six flags great adventure. Wow that is awesome!! Cedar Point should take meanstreak and revamp it similar to this one
Your prayers have been answered!!!
This coaster is bigger and it's a final version of the Wing Coaster while the other two were still prototypes
watch at double speed to see what this ride would have been like if it were built in the 90's
It says that Gatekeeper stands on the former site of Disaster Transport only. It doesn't say Space Spiral because that ride wasn't in the way and they could've kept it even after this ride opened. They only took it down because it was old and unpopular. So they figured that while their clearing that section of land, they might as well take that other ride down as well.
hey coasterforce here is a question which is better x2 or gatekeeper????
Don Wilson Sr. I found x2 kinda rough
Ive ridden it about 25 times (between Media Day and CoasterMania). Great ride but i would wait more than an hour for it. Heres a tip for anyone who wants to ride it and avoid long lines; do not ride this before 3pm. The lines will be significantly shorter later in the day. If you ride it later in the day it will almost be a walk-on. Your welcome.
Mind the gull mate! 1:33
So I'm going to cedar point in like 2 weeks and have never been on a rollercoaster that goes upside down. I want to know if you can feel it when you do go upside down?
No not really its really fun trust me
Thanks
No.
And what rides did you ride?
Not on this one you don't. Its so damn smooth. On older, more rough coasters with loops like Vortex at King's Island, you feel the loops a bit more, but smooth ones like these, you don't. If you're nervous, just close your eyes before you go through a loop 😊
I'm not sure why your comment received so many down votes. I guess it's because most the people watching this are American or Cedar Point fanboys. I myself am American and LOVE Cedar Point (I'm going there this summer), but both this and The Smiler look like awesome rides, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally love the design of The Smiler and think Wardley did an amazing job cramming all those inversions in without making it too repetitive. *steps down from soapbox*
From what I heard, the coaster doesn't withhold any force or anything. It seems to lack a punch.
Jay Alford wing coasters are never forceful
xXx_B1GG13_CH3E53_xXx 420 Except one....
Is this more or less intense than blue streak?
MORE
Excuse me, Coasterforce, but I really need to know why you and your members liked the other ones better than this one, and why X-Flight is still your favorite. Thank you.
I feel like if this ride's wing style was mashed in with the upright coaster chassie like SeaWorld Orlando's Manta or Superman, it would change the dynamic of the ride COMPLETELY.
Half of me is waiting for their chairs to lift back side up. How it looks here makes it seem like the ride's not all that interesting.
many of you are neglecting to see the first dive loop that goes straight into an immelmann.
Good lord, whats with the hate on this coaster? Not every coaster has to be "intense" or "forceful". Not everyone enjoys that. I don't enjoy coasters that make me feel like the wind is knocked out of me. I like calm ones like this. Just cause some of you don't find it fun, doesn't mean it needs to be "removed" or "remodeled". Its supposed to just be a chill coaster. Lmao there's plenty of other extreme coasters at Cedar Point. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion, but just cause you don't enjoy a ride, doesn't mean it needs to fit your needs and be taken down. I thought Gatekeeper was wonderful. A smooth ride, with a pretty good view of the park and lake. You really feel like you're flying on this thing. Also, its a lot faster than it looks. I felt like we were hauling. Cameras never do the justice. Cameras manage to make Dragster look slow..
why are there these "clicking" sound during the ride? when i visited heide park i noticed that flight of the demon doesn't makes them.. i think i heard them thunderbird too..
it's the train hitting joints in the track.
or your talking about him taking multiple amount of pictures at one time.
+Valerie Blair i'm talking about the noises durikg the ride
. at the bottom of the dive drop. that cklicking in the station, these are sensors.

+GeCoDe btw i can hear it on almost every wing coaster in the us. thunderbird has it. not sure at the moment about xflight. but i haven't heard it on flight of the demon!
Lol, I think the keyhole was the most intimidating part for me when I rode this.
kings dominion needs one of these asap
I really wanna go on this
Seems like they've got a stacking issue.
in the BEGINING did somebody have a bachelors party there?
they dressing fancy
Because this one is even more forceless than the others.
like gatekeeper or not
OMG
It's a roller coaster!
*This thing looks amazing.... But also looks SLOW!*
I've never actually been on it but I would think the left side because of that first drop
0:08 who wears a tie to an amusement park?
B&M makes the best coasters in the world
LOL i never noticed - this might be the only wing coaster to basically start with a Norwegian loop.
The restrains probably won’t bother me, I’m used to them
Ok
Gatekeeper is like swarm at Thorpe park
The wait wasn't worth it I was really disappointed
scary!!!
Cedar Point.... all day
Raptor: B&M inverted.
Mantis: B&M Stand-up.
Oh, you asked COASTERFORCE that. I'm not COASTERFORCE. :)
Three trains running! SFMM would run one even if they had seven.
They need one at kings dominion
No line.
