Man, being on an inverting coaster with a simple lap bar must be pretty scary
This is easily one of the most intense coasters I've been on. The whole ride is just BRIMMING with airtime. First time I rode it my friend Edgar (who's not really that into coasters) said to me, "I don't have the strength to ride anything else!" I rode Superman immediately afterwards and it felt almost like a kiddie ride in comparison!
By the way, RUclips videos really don't do the part on top of the quarry justice, one of the highlights is actually the "sideways airtime" on the 1:58 overbank, it's the strangest feeling, it gives you this crazy "Crap, I'm going to fly out" sensation.
yes I rode this, this past sunday at night time four times it was so fun and every time I rode it felt like it got crazier every time lol. And since it was nighttime we didn't even have to get out of the carts they just kept going it was so fun. I finally got the courage to keep my hands up the whole way.
my girlfriend refuses to ride this..... simply because she's constantly afraid she's going to fly out. she's tiny, and i insist that it would take the force of 1000 pounds to compromise those lap bars. doesn't matter.... the illusion of flying out is still too much for it. personally, i've been riding it for years and i love it. season pass holder for the past decade.
Agreed. The video doesn't do it justice. This is my favorite coaster ever.
When I first went down on the rattler, my whole body felt like my soul was pushed out momentarily.

Shiv totally agree - the way it hugs the cliffside and plunges down the cliff three times is just stunning. I’m sure a lot of thought went into the “slower” section to keep the sensation of speed going. There certainly looks to be plenty of momentum after the last tunnel for one more helix or something before the station brake (same argument I’d make with Lightning Rod). Just a beautifully designed ride - a near perfect 10!
I traveled 8 hours from my home state to ride this and it was definitely worth it! I rode it three times in one day!

Still gotta be one of the best around...Fiesta Texas is definitely the best themed of all the six flags parks. It's actually pretty nice

Wow! the first drop is so STEEP! its scary how its going up the lift hill and the train stop at the top then drops you EEEK!
I gotta get there~ just for the 1st drop and the one off the cliff into the wall/tunnel!! Worth the airplane ride I think!

This seems rather short compared to Texas Giant but more intense twists and turns.

Am I the only one who does not stick his hands out? Serious,I have hit stuff while riding themepark rides! I am a bit longer than average,but really even at the slow speed of a rollercoaster it hurts hitting something stationary.

This looks like a wonderful experience. I don't like comparing coasters to other coasters... I think most of them have their own merits... but this one looks like just a peck of fun.

Is the middle section, after the zero g roll, more exciting than it seems in videos? Is there air time or forceful whipping/ G forces?
It always looks really slow on video, on and off.
It's fast, but it's SMOOTH. There are times it just feels like you are floating off the track

I haven't had the chance to ride this yet, but it kinda looks like they brought back the "original" drop. I sure hope so. I remember being so sad when they took it out.

i think the boss needs it more than mean streak, because the boss has a simple layout and many slow points. what mean streak needs is millenium flyer trains. then it'll be smoother, they might be able to take the trims off the first drop, and then the ride will be speedier and smoother.
unfortunately, son of beast isn't coming back, because they're already building a b&M in it's place (a wing-rider according to screamscape, but it isn't confirmed).

Not the 1st coaster with a loop and only a lap bar, the old tower of terror at Camelot had it , felt like it made it a better ride

Awesome! Just awesome, great footage, but could you consider using AVI format, most players run smoother in avi. This format seems a bit jumpy.

Extremely smooth. It's nothing like the old Texas Cyclone that was at Astroworld back in the day, that just jostled you back and forth and felt rickety

You know, I do not think the Outlaw run vs Iron rattler is relevant anymore. Rocky mountain coasters in general are just amazing, no turds so far.

trizel777 LOL, no my friend. Not the suspension coaster. The Goliath in Gurnee Illinois is the combination of Iron Rattler and Texas Giant all in one.
Drkone Davis FYI - Goliath at Six Flags Great America will not be a combination of Iron Rattler and New Texas Giant. Both of those coaster have steel track and Goliath has wooden track, so it's more like a bigger version of Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City than a combination of Iron Rattler and New Texas Giant.

Drkone Davis I went to six flags a couple days ago and so far Goliath looks so much smaller than expected! especially the space its in. on the other hand the lift hill isnt all the way up yet so we will see! this one seems a bit more interesting though.
