    • @Mike0660

      It really doesn't, but being a part of the LGBTQ+ community means that you should at least try to learn more about the people and concepts surrounding that community. Don't think that sex, gender, and sexuality are the same things because they are not.
      They may define themselves as a transgender woman in terms of what sex, but identify as gender fluid/non-conforming in the sense that they don't adhere to the gender norms that can coincide with their sex. It can also mean an umbrella term for someone who is not a cis-gendered person. That being said, they did not say anything about who they were attracted to, so sexuality doesn't need to be part of this conversation in this case

      It is just basic dues so that the fraternity can run. A lot of fraternities are national or international organizations and aren't free to do so. I'm in two fraternities and the dues aren't that much. Kappa Kappa Psi at my chapter is $110/year and Phi Mu Alpha is $120/semester at my school. I'm also in Phi Kappa Phi which is an honor society, but that is a one time deal at around the same price.

    • @jacky79322
      @jacky79322 6 лет назад +38

      Lol ET gender neutral (can) refer to her identity, and being a transgender woman might refer to her current sex that is now biologically a woman. It makes perfect sense if you’re not combining the two. Your (gender) identity and sex are two different things. There are circumstances when transgender can be used as an identity, and therefore it would merely mean that she has two identities she identifies simultaneously or she switches between them when convenient. She can then add the part about being a woman to merely emphasis her biological sex. This works vice versa as well.

So you can join football, basketball, hockey, rugby and many more of both genders and for societies you can join religious ones, your course ones or just similar hobbies one like the rock society (for people who like rock music) in order to deal like part of a community.

      I think the use of Greek letters started with Phi Beta Kappa and other literary societies. They wanted to create something that was their own, with a motto of their own in Greek, and used the abbreviated letters to represent their organizations.

    Being in a a sorority has changed my life, I'm more confident about myself as a whole and know what I can bring to a table, socially and professionally. Yes, there are some bad eggs in the greek community, and those are the only ones that you hear about because that's the only time anyone cares. My chapter this semester alone has raised over $3k for our philanthropy. You are a part of something bigger than yourself. It's amazing and has made such a positive impact on my undergrad career.

    • @KimbobulousPlays
      @KimbobulousPlays 6 лет назад +2

      You have to meet the guys/Interview, hangout with everyone, go to rush events, probably some parties for and eventually get a bid if you and the fraternity men like which takes weeks before you pay a dime. saying you pay for friends in fraternities is like saying you payed for your college friends because you have to pay to go to the school. You pay dues so you have money to throw parties, pay rent on your house and many other things.

    • @Firebolt4
      @Firebolt4 6 лет назад

      Dues go towards Nationals (people to make new chapters, it's like taxes) and then the rest to your own local one, which pays for things like philanthropy events, rush shirts, events, etc. Friends are a bonus
