Apparently I've been told that some shifters like the puma speed don't have a recess cut out underneath and it actually makes contact with the plastic component. You can see this happening around the 9:55 mark. It's striking the plastic. Some people have said that after a while it can cause damage to it and in the end it will just fail on you and there's nothing you can do roadside. You'll have to give a long term update on it.
Just fitted mine myself and it is 100% worth the money, makes gear changes slik and quick whether your driving slow or fast. On a side note i found the best way to pop the linkage off was not to pull up on it but tilt the head to the side and lever it off that way instead of trying to yank it up and off :).
Pretty cool videos mate! At present , you are running all the components that are in my shopping cart. The only car part that is missing it is the miltek exhaust. I'm looking forward to se more of your videos , good job!
Cheers 👍 I have order my exhaust, scorpion GPF back. I nearly went with the Miltek but went with the scorpion because it’s a deeper sound. I should be getting this week so I’ll do a full install video. I’ve also ordered a Airtec stage 1 Intercooler.
Another great video. One thing I did notice was that the difference was millimetres not %. The stock shift was 125mm and the first nipple was 110mm therefore a 15mm difference and it was the same for the 2nd nipple a 15mm difference. Only an observation. Great way to work out the shift pattern too. 👍🏼
Well done filming that. I don't like how the new swivel is at a different height from the original and I'm not a fan of extra bolt on parts so it'll be the mountune option if I ever feel the need.
Great video I have been waiting for a review on a quickshifter for the mk8 be interested to know your thoughts. Just a heads up on what I've read about what mk7 owners have said is to put threadlock on bolts to stop them working loose.
Cheers for the heads up! I did have that thought myself to be fair. I will be fitting my engine mount tomorrow so I will check that everything is still tight.
Realy nice video, prety interested in the torque mount installation Btw have u ever been told u look very much as Dr. Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis?
I’ve never been told I look like Rodney McKay 😂. I have just fitted the torque mount today so keep your eyes open for the video. It will be out Saturday morning.
@@G5MAV well havent seen the series like 10 years so maybe i do remember him wrong, anyway hope it didnt offend you. I clicked that subscribe button so i will be noticed
Guys, you can clearly see the quick shift mount hitting the rest of the shifting linkage while changing gears, 9:50 , 12:30 .... That's really not good
excellent vid- much better than some of the pretentious rubbish on here! The "throw" ranges were easy to understand and visualise- does the space between 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 decrease as well or it it just "up and down"?
Hello from Spain, I am going to buy the Fiesta ST MK8 and I want to know exactly what this "quick shift" for the car is for or improves. Sorry but I don't speak English. Thanks.
@@G5MAV Hello, thank you for answering, I imagined it was for that but I was surprised that it is so easy to achieve it. When managing to reduce the travel of the lever between gears, it would not be ideal to also put a higher gear knob to be able to have the lever closer to the steering wheel and therefore more reaction speed by cutting the distance between the lever and the steering wheel. ? Thanks and sorry for the questions !!! In two months I will have my new ST.🤗🤗🤗
@@G5MAV how economical is it? i know this is a silly question on a car like this haha it will be my daily car, work, / Fun with the lads car / mods ect
When I’m in work mode I can get around 36 - 38 mpg but when your not being careful you’ll be around mid 20s. I haven’t notice a difference to the mpg with the mods I’ve done so that’s a result.
Another great no nonsense vid mate👍🏼

Very good. Nice and thorough.
Beaut vid ! really wanna do mine , looks quite easy to do , but not being that way inclined could be fun for a novice ! 👍
Give it a go mate. The hardest bit is getting the gear linkage apart.

I saw that too
It's all VERY close, but doesn't actually touch.
It hitting it. 100%@@mikebull1972

The sideways travel across the gate will be unaffected.
Great Vid. I know your face from somewhere ?? Did you work at Heathrow T2?
Hello, do you have any issue after 2-3 years please? Or anybody other?
I would appreciate for any feedback🙏
hello friend, are you happy after a long time? Do you have any problem?

Hey
No worries
It reduces the travel of the gearstick between gear changes. Also makes the driving experience a lot better.

nice man i cant wait to get mine, no idea on the build time though as of this virus
I did hear there is a bit of a back log on new builds. You’ll love it when you get it.

Why not go for the mountune quickshift?
No reason to be fair. just thought the Pumaspeed on would be the easiest one to fit.
What did you think of the mountune elbow?
I did notice a slight decrease in turbo lag. I’ve got a review of my upgrades coming out tomorrow.
What do you think to the m235 ?
Hi Phil, The M235 is defo worth getting. It makes a massive difference to the car.
