Hey:) i have just had a fix for this when i bought a old bike a few days ago.
First of all remove it from your bike and open it completelly. Clean and oil all mechanical parts. And now to the keypart. There should be a small shaft which limits the rotation. Remove it and load your spring 360 degrees in the opposite direction you want the tension. Then you need some force to get the limiter shaft back on.And that should be all. It worked just perfect for me and i hope some Simplex cn be saved :)

This is exactly my problem! Thank you for sharing. The sound is a bit quiet though.

Nice video, but do you have any tips on how to fix this spring tension problem?

And if spring tension goes? New spring, or new (/old) derailleur?

Yes it can it’s a spring tension they sells those in all sizes and shapes. It’s a part it’s going to worn out over use over time.

If the spring isn't broken, can't you just turn one of the big silver screws and it should work again?

Hi, I think that I solved the problem - have the same rear derailleur model. See the movie on my channel - Peugeot Randonneur E03
