It does put things into perspective. Compared to what my grandmother had to go through I can do it! My grandma had to get 5 kids through famine, being forcefully separated from my granddad, living under constant fear of air raids, being shot at and living off whatever food they could find in the jungle. Then came to a brand new country without knowing the language and only the clothes on their back. It really helps me appreciate everything I have in those hard times.

I teared up several times during this video just because some of the things you said made me feel very validated. My daughter is 11 months and I've had no help at all other than my husband who works full time. I'm isolated all day, across the country from all family. It's really hard. I'm in a whatsapp chat group with all the moms from my birthing class and that's been my life saver

my sister has 6 kids. When her kids are in the "going stir crazy or fighty" days, she has them run laps to expend excess energy whether that's running laps in the house because it's raining outside or running laps around the house on non-rainy days. Ofc she makes the difficulty level according to their age, but you kno whow much energy kids have. Now, that most of them are older, they can tell when they have too much excess energy and choose to go run laps.

Potty training: love the “oh crap” book!
And yes to teaching kids to function as future adults! Everyone focuses on having a baby but really we are raising future adults. God willing, only a small portion of their lives will be babies/kids. Reminding myself of that keeps me sane and patient when I’m teaching them basic chores and manners.

Agree 100% about mom loneliness. I just moved from Texas to Maine and all my family is in Texas. The signal is bad here so I can’t even call them without our conversation being like “what was that? You’re robotic”. There was this amazing motherhood retreat I went to with my sister in Brownwood, Tx and it was so fulfilling being around all these moms/women who were there to uplift each other and learn from one another

I saw that TikTok recently too. It hurt a little bit, tbh. I get that we as new Moms can get completely wrapped up in our new roles and change pretty drastically due to the circumstances, but it's still hard to hear that certain friends just cut themselves off because of it.

Going back to work was the absolute hardest thing for me to do. I went after just 8 weeks and it’s still my biggest regret because I still miss my baby so so so much. But he adapted to day care really well and I get updates on an app through my daycare so I know when he’s been fed or changed. He is now almost 8 months old and I still have days where I wish I was a SAHM but most of the time I am very happy that I work because I have my dream job. 🙏 Being thankful for our circumstances definitely helps with the sanity. That is so crazy to learn about your grandmother and her journey becoming a mom!! 😳

My second child is the “chill one” so potty training was harder for her - we finally told her she didn’t get an M&M if she didn’t use the potty. Once she realized we were serious, she tried harder. Find what motivates your child and try that. Just know that this too shall pass 😁

This was fun! My boys are grown now but I remember bribery working great for potty training. There was a movie my son REALLY wanted. I made a big deal about buying it for him. Then I set it on top of the fridge. He cried and cried for it. I assured him he could absolutely have it, as soon as he pooped in the toilet. It took a couple of days but he got it figured out.

I think as an adult it's hard, to maintain friendships. We have such busy lives and even my friends from before seem distant at times. I don't have little humans, but I do have a dog for who I'm constantly making play dates. His friend's parents are our friends but it is still difficult. But I also don't have all the time in the world to hang out, as long as you're happy. It's all good.

Love the video and how real you are. I have been in a mom burnout mode lately. I find myself feeling down about not having any real strong friendships anymore. At the same time I am too tired. I am very lucky though to have a husband who is amazing at caring for the kids and helping me clean when my mental health is absolute shit. Sometimes he does it all just so I can clear my mind. Does it ever really clear? I don’t think so. I do also find myself somewhat feeling resentful towards my husband because he hasn’t lost much connection with his friends. He tries his hardest to step up in place of my friends. I struggle with female relationships anyway because you could say I have mommy issues. I grew up liking men more since all my women role models failed me growing up. So I blame that. That and my borderline personality disorder. Life if hard, but baby steps! 💕

Mai your channel really got me through the mid/end of 2020. I gave birth to my 3rd July 2020 & your baby content helped me tremendously! Although it was my 3rd rodeo my son was 5 & my girl was 3, so I got rid of everything thinking I was done lol then my dad unexpectedly passed 3 days prior to giving birth due to COVID, so I felt really defeated and alone. So your decluttering videos really help me keep my mind off things. Anyway, I’m in the same boat as we moved away from everyone, so I’m pretty much on my own. Everything you answered in today’s video resonates. So hope you keep the content coming, b/c I truly look forward to it. Hope to one day feel comfortable enough and not be so awkward in order to do the same, b/c I sure could use the motivation lol Ok done rambling 😝 God continue to bless!

Now I see why things are the way they are (came from the Air BnB). That's sad, but definitely glad MIL is better to y'all. The mommy loneliness is a whole 'nother level. It's a huge part of why I don't have kids yet :( I already know I have no one to help me. Was told that even if my bf's mom were still alive that she'd be useless. I'm like ok, so obviously the family genes don't need to be continued 💀 Lol! Idk. I'm still in a state of healing, but I do support cool chicks like you. Used to have awful mommy friends that looked down on me for not suffering with them (weird times, yo), but the ones I made/reconnected with are awesome ladies.

I appreciate how authentic you are.
As a busy mom what moments do you manage to take advantage of the get little things done? Do you prefer doing a whopping clean up like these videos - getting it all done in one go - or do you find moments (minutes) here and there to accomplish individual tasks? Everyone has a different style/method that works for them.
2 video ideas for the moms: morning routine, bedtime routine (talk about, just show what you’re comfortable/feel safe with).
Also, do you watch other youtubers for inspo and would you be willing to share one? Maybe you could collab with another and link to eachother’s video. Glad you’re able to make youtube a bit of an income source. I would like to start a chanel but I feel like I would not do great with other’s negativity/judgment.🤷🏻‍♀️
Are there things you do that help you relax when the kids are away/asleep? Do you take moments for yourself? Yoga, meditate...wine? Etc.

I feel like I am always doing little things to maintain my house from crumbling lol! but even doing that it still becomes a mess everywhere else! It piles on fast if you're not cleaning 24/7. So I do just enough daily and then once a week usually have a power day when my kids are out of the house.
For other RUclipsrs that I watch there are a TON! I've tried to reach out to some, but never got a reply which is fine. I'm sure a ton of people reach out to them 😀 Some of my faves for RUclips and IG are Sonia Casteneda, Baiyinadotcom (decor inspo), The Take (commentary), Cody Ko (comedy), Jackie Aina & RawBeautyKristi (Makeup), MissLizHeart, Safiya Nygaard, Amber Ashleigh (she is way boujier than me, but her videos are calming), Susan Yara (Skincare) and so many more I am probably forgetting!

I was the first of my friends to have kids. Still friends with a few. To be completely honest 20 years later I still don't have mom friends. It used to bother me, but eventually, I accepted it and I am ok with that. Might have actually stressed me out had I had mom friends lol. I saw later my friends and acquaintances who had kids, completely parented and prioritized differently than I did. Thankfully... I didn't have to compare myself to them and how they did it because I had done it already. Over the years as an extroverted introvert parent with ADHD and Anxiety/Depression, I became very aware of my weaknesses and strengths and glad I got that all worked out. I think we shouldn't idealize what we see on social media and tv, that we HAVE to have MOM FRIENDS/Participate in the PTA or be heavily involved with other parents. If you are cool, but we shouldn't have to because not everyone is the same with the same support structure or homelife. Just know you are enough, your family appreciates your hard work and things will work out eventually.

I've always said, "I won't raise helpless men." I started really young with my boys in picking up toys every night before bed. It was a game then. Toy Race! Then brush teeth, get jammies on, and tuck them in. Mine are nearly 17 & 16 now, and I have the only two teenaged boys who LIKE having clean rooms- that I know, at least. :D I haven't had to remind them in years to clean up/dust/sweep their rooms. I don't have to remind them to do their laundry, etc. The only thing they need to build confidence in now before I'll feel I did my job right, is cooking. My fault. I just love to cook, so I haven't put much more than helping me prep on them. We've recently sat down and made a cooking schedule so they'll be responsible for dinner instead of me. (Then I get to do the dishes. LOL)

Hope you get to continue on your RUclips path I love how open real and honest you are!

I do get more if you watch the ads! I appreciate it if you have the time, but if Google gives you a super long ad we’re all busy and I don’t expect anyone to watch a crazy amount haha
Just watching supports my channel. I’m hoping to get more sponsors in the future and just supporting any sponsored content really helps 🙏🙏💕💕

So I am on the opposite end of the spectrum of segregation.... As I have chosen to not have kids but every friend I have now does. And that's great! I will love those kids, and I would never give up a friend just because they wanted a kiddo. But trying to schedule time to hang out with a mom of a newborn is so hard. I try and text as much as I can to keep in touch but it's hard on both ends. So just know it's not just you, and I guess that's just life as an adult Aparently.

It makes me sad that women choose to be mean in this day and age, especially with all the mental health knowledge we have. What happened to women supporting women? And if you can’t, just not being mean! Love your videos!

Thank you for showing real life messes. I absolutely loathe cleaning my gas stove top it has the bumps like yours.
What specifically did you use to clean it? Was that salt?
I feel I have tried so many tricks and I Scrub and Scrub and it never gets 100% clean.

I love your table with the storage..trying to get my husband to buy it. He says its too farm house but its clearly not because it works so well in your house and our house is very similar. Anyway..have you ever put anything in the storage benches? I'm trying to think about wtf I would store there.

Mai, if you want to set up a virtual mom community(coMomnity?), check out Discord. You can set up an account super easy, and create a server super easy, setting it up is a little more difficult but doable. You can create topic rooms, chat rooms, moderators, editors(supermods), roles, etc. YOu can post links, gifs, allow embeds. It's a really good way to access other ppl with a similar interest.

I would say moms are definitely lonely these days. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is very rare in our modern times because we're mostly isolated and/or keep to ourselves. Also, many of us live far from family so it's hard to find help without having to hire someone instead. There were days where it got so hard, I broke down crying.

My daughter was hard to potty train. But one day it just snapped for her and she was potty trained. Just keep trying and dont pressure your children to potty train. It will come eventually . And dont punish them for potty training.

Hey mama. Wondering how old your twins are now? Mine are 14 1/2 and I have to say that with each passing year, that age becomes my favorite. Don’t get me wrong, they’re definitely full blown teens now with all the teen attitude but I still love it. I can have deeper conversations with them, I have so much more time to spend with each, one on one and I just love it. I don’t know if I’ll still feel the same in a year or two, but that’s my two cents. Lol
