    The documentary actually left out a key detail: The reason why Vince in 1989 dropped the last pretense of wrestling being a “real” fighting sport as distinct from a stunt performance. (Yes, the fans had known for many decades - the denials were more like a magician refusing to reveal his secrets.) He did it in order to avoid government regulations and taxes to protect the health and safety of the performers, which apply to competitive athletes. This also ties in nicely with his union-busting against Jesse Ventura, it’s all about maintaining power over the talent and running them into the ground.

      It seems this is how all billionaires are created. They have to find ways to use the blood, sweat and tears of their workers to build an empire. It obviously worked in his case. It isn’t surprising that he led the narrative to save himself money and time. I do think there is a lot that the docuseries left out but to cover everything properly would take seasons of content!

    I honestly didn't find it as controversial as they made it to be. They could have shown a lot more about the cruel side of Vince McMahon but they played it safe.

      Wwe soon becoming a mainstay on Netflix probably really biased going that route.

      Yeah I think there are some politics involved too. As soon as Netflix signed the deal with WWE, they must have told the producers of the doc to play it safe. I feel like we were promised something of substance but really just got a superficial overview covering things we already mostly knew.

      I agree, I think I saw most of these stories from Dark Side of the Ring first and that show covers them more in depth and gives us different perspectives. This docuseries really missed the opportunity to delve into the more important/controversial parts of Vince’s life.

    And let’s not forget about the storyline that Vince trying to convince Stephanie to do, which she rejected: that Vince had impregnated her. Yeah, I can see why that was one of the few times she would’ve said no. Makes Vince even that much more creepier. Not only would it have not aged well, I don’t think anyone would’ve even been entertained by it even back in the attitude era or ruthless aggression era.

    Why do Republican workers/enployees of a company NOT want a Union when it would only benefit them and their co workers and only hurt the business owner!?
    These Republicans care more about the business owner than they do thenselves and their familes and their co workers! Yet another example of how partisan people are. Instead of thinkijg objectively.

    There's alot of Masonic symbolism in wwe and Masons have the demolay foundation wonder if that's how they recruited the ring boys? Lol

    • @Superplex17
      @Superplex17  Месяц назад +1

      What kind of symbolism? We’ll keep a look out from now on.
      There was definitely something happening with the ring boys…where there’s smoke there’s fire and there’s a lot of smoke there.
      Really wish the documentary went more in depth with the bigger ‘scandals’ but I guess we will have to wait until the truth comes out…if it ever does!

    I just finished watching it last night. Overall, I would give it a 8/10. I compare McMahon to Michael Jordan in many ways. To be the very best at what you do you almost have to be a complete and utter psychotic individual. Someone who is willing to burn everything to the ground to get what you want. Nobody matters but you and what you want to accomplish. McMahon and Jordan left a lot of bodies along their path with zero remorse. I have met a lot of absolutely filthy rich people and they are all pretty much the same. Narcissistic and psychotic.
    Now, with that said I have met some very wealthy people in my business life that are the opposite of Michael Jordan and Vince McMahon and are far greater people than them...but they are few and far between.

    • @Superplex17
      @Superplex17  Месяц назад +1

      I’d have to agree that it takes a certain type of person to be able to create a legacy like Vince has. He comes across sociopathic at points in the docuseries which isn’t really all that surprising considering all of the things he’s been accused of in the past. I’ve never met anyone on the wealth level of Vince but I’d assume they would have also trampled over others and put personal relationships aside to reach that level of success. If that’s what you need to be a billionaire, I’m happy to be poor!
      I think the documentary did a good job covering his life and the history of WWE but I think they could have gone into a lot more detail about specific events that people want to know more about like Rita Marie or the Ring Boys Scandal.

    • @Superplex17
      @Superplex17  24 дня назад +1

      Ventura was really the only person back then who saw that the industry was messed up and tried to do something about it. It speaks volumes that Vince got rid of him and never wanted him to come back, I reckon Vince was afraid of what Jesse could have achieved
