Trains at Pratteln | 19th March 2024

An amazing 4 and a half hours at Pratteln on the outskirts of Basel, Switzerland, which is known for being one of the best places to go for freight in the country and after going I can certainly see why! I've included some passenger workings but the majority of this video is just sold non-stop freight, including the Rollpin Swiss 'rolling highway' lorry trains from Italy which takes many trucks off Switzerland's roads every day, also a few SSB Re 420 and 620 locos (formerly known as Re 4/4 and 6/6) which were built in batches from the 1960s until the '80s, so it's nice to see some 'heritage' traction still in use!
