Hey everyone! My name is Dan and I have been a rail enthusiast since I was a very young child. I try to upload every week, but sometimes this may not be possible.
West Midlands Freight | 17th May 2024
The day before I went to The Severn Valley Railway's spring diesel gala I spent the day around Birmingham on a West Midlands Daytripper ticket chasing some freight about. I've included details of each working in the video.
I had planned to release this video months ago but I discovered that in the 4 videos I filmed before this I had major audio issues, worse than ever before, making most of it unusable. I wanted to release the videos in chronological order but whilst I'm still working on a solution to salvage what's left of the audio on those other videos I thought I'd upload this one in the meantime as by this point I'd noticed the issue and had disconnected by external mic for recording ...

Yet another great diesel gala put on by the K&WVR last weekend. This is the first gala in a while which hasn't featured home fleet 20031, which is out of action of a large overhaul at the moment, but this was made up by 5 visiting locos in operation. Hi Dan. How did you get on in Switzerland, price wise I'm thinking about, food, hotel etc. I've heard it's a touch on the pricey side.
I didn't stay in Switzerland so I can't comment on hotel prices (I stayed in Strasbourg when I filmed in Basel because it was cheap and a good excuse to get loco hauled trains in for haulage on TER200), food was pretty pricey whilst I was there though but that was mostly because I didn't have any francs on me and had to use euros and in some shops things cost more because of it

Cheers, for passenger trains in Belgium specifically I use Haltelink Tracker which gives live allocations of locos and carriages, but with freight it's very much a turn up and wait job. I was with some Dutch friends who get gen on interesting moves as well; we went for the Class 21s and weren't expecting much freight hence why we weren't really on the right platform for them.

It's planned to run tomorrow and Wednesday, not at all between Christmas and New Year and then 3 times a week until April then 6 times a week. Should be Monday/Wednesday/Friday when 3 times a week then Sunday to Friday from April

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply I've been taking a bit of a break from RUclips. I use a Canon PowerShotSX70HS with a Rode external pic and a PrimaPhoto Gear tripod. I also use a Nikon A900 for still photos whilst filming with the canon.
