All Day Trains at Dedensen/Gümmer (60+ Freight Trains!) | 6th September 2023

Somewhere I've wanted to go to for a long time due to it's high volume of freight traffic passing, Dedensen/Gümmer station is a small stop on the Minden branch of the Hannover S-Bahn, which is also the mainline route to the west of the city. Just a short way up the line is the large Seelze hump marshalling yard & depot, which explains the frequency of freight through here as most of it has come/from or going via there. A crazy amount of freight Dan, can't believe how many car trains there were. Where about were you standing? Is it far from the station. I've had a look on Google Earth but can't pinpoint it. cheers

It's about a 10 min walk from the station, it's to the west along a road, co-ords are 52.403149, 9.538208

Only 60+ freight trains!! You've got to stop posting these videos Dan as every time I watch one I add the location to my list of places to visit. It's going to cost me a fortune haha. Where did you base yourself on this trip? Which hotel did you stay in and was it ok? I'd like recommendations for my trip hopefully next year when the lighter evenings start again. Keep up the great video work.

On this trip I stayed in Arnhem for the steam gala and the other Dutch videos I've posted over the past few weeks, for this I stayed in the Ibis Budget at Hannover Hbf, the day after this I went to Hamburg-Harburg which is my next video from this trip where I got 120 freight trains in 9 hours, only 12 euro on the train from Hannover and then after that I stayed in Rotterdam for 3 nights for some other stuff that I'll publish when I get around to it, I've been extremely busy at work so haven't had a chance to upload videos this week!
