Asphalt Kingdom Sealcoat Brushes for Manually Applying Asphalt Sealcoat

- Want to sealcoat driveways by hand just like Gregory Francis of viral RUclips channel SEALCOATING IS LIFE? He uses sealcoat brushes to apply asphalt sealcoat manually on residential driveways. These brushes provide smooth applications and are easy to maneuver against walls and inside corners to get clean edges.
Applying sealcoat by hand takes longer but ensures the asphalt is coated well, there is no possibility of overspray, and you are able to have more control regardless of wind conditions.
SEALCOATING BRUSH OR SQUEEGEE?
Greg says he prefers sealcoating brushes over squeegees because the 90° angle of the brush allows easy use in tight corners. The bristles of the brush also help to push sealer into the tiny cracks and fissures inside the asphalt driveway surface.

Is the brush more effective on rougher asphalt, better at getting sealcoat into cracks?
Brushing sealer is always good on driveways and does assist with sealing small surface cracks. If you’re sealcoating a larger surface you’d want to save the time and spray two coats on the asphalt surface for proper sealcoating.
Does he use a 48” brush?
This was a 36" brush if I remember correctly.
Horse hair brush, near impossible to find around here unfortunately. Hey @SEALCOATING IS LIFE, why brush not squeegee?
He’s using a nylon brush not horse hair, but you can order horse hair online
I would assume it makes edging faster less risky and squeegees usually use more material than a quality brush.
Hey, Riley Hoddinott - great question. In our Driveway Sealcoating Kickstart Course, he says that the brush allows the sealer to get into all the nooks and crannies better as he goes over it from different directions. Check out the course here: asphalt.vip/DrivewaySealcoating

How do I get my ak130 spray tank to let the sealer out like this. It seems like it shoots it out at a way higher psi and would ruin siding and stuff
Great question. Take the spray tip off and turn down your engine idle and you can do it this way.
