Finally, some original Kitchari, not the mixed-vegetable concoctions, which are, of course delicious, but not entitled to call themselves Kitchari. Thanks for video!
there's 3 modes or gunas, goodness, passion and ignorance or satvaguna, rajaguna and tamaguna. things like milk, yoghurt, rice and beans and most vegetables are considered to be satvic. things like, garlic and onions which are stimulating are considered to be rajasic. and then things like alcohol, vinegar, mushrooms, anything old and fermented is considered tamasic, ignorance. so because kitchari is considered to be satvic, when you add a rajasic element it can't really be considered satvic.
for the people asking about seasonal mix! basically you roast and grind seeds etc and store them - the spices you choose depends on the time of year. Here is some information i found online: cumin and coriander and turmeric you'll find all year round. fennel and cardamom are cooling spices and should be used in summer (when its hot out). peppercorns cloves etc are warming and can be used in spring. ginger in all seasons except summer. I'm seeing mustard seeds in those cooler times of year as well. kripalu.org/resources/ayurvedic-spice-blends-health-and-wellness www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/blog-the-banyan-insight/details/diy-spice-blending/

I cannot focus with the background music Sir,please mute music when you are speaking. Thank you, this is one of my favourite meals that I loved from my mother's cooking.
Could be brief n to the point....not sure what is seasonal Mix And this is when I cook Indian all the time. For non Indian audience, need more specifics on spices
This is so frustrating. It's called "How to make Kitchari", but instead it's "What is Kitchari" and he's making it in front of you and not saying what he's doing...
bad presentation; you dont even say what the mix is, no need to even talk about garlic....talk about kitchari...look at other videos that do the demo way better and they are not even a doctor of whatever
cooking as a medicine that makes complete sense. thank you...you are a gem

To make this a more pitta pacifying dish for summer try adding some extra coriander or fresh cilantro. Great video!
Hello Dr Douillard, nice to know you frequent this knowledge/channel:)
Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏
What is seasonal mix? And what you have in seasonal mix?
I love the music. The tablas are beautiful.
garlic makes you more passionate or as purpleorchid has said it's stimulating. it's a good body cleanser but still increases rajaguna (passion)

What is the seasonal mix made up of. No use getting just part of the receipe

Yes he did but can't understand why

Nice explanation but Ayurveda doesn't suggest khichadi to be cooked in pressure cooking

the music is annoying. Thank you for the knowledge though
he isnt telling how to make kitchari, he's just talking while cooking.
Too bad you don't tell what the seasonal mix has in it!whats the point of making receipe when you keep something secret
This is so frustrating. It's called "How to make Kitchari", but instead it's "What is Kitchari" and he's making it in front of you and not saying what he's doing...
U say this is ayurvedic cooking,n make use of a pressure cooker wow.
bad presentation; you dont even say what the mix is, no need to even talk about garlic....talk about kitchari...look at other videos that do the demo way better and they are not even a doctor of whatever
