@@adamb2216 I've personally only managed to play around 3 hours and I cannot wait to play some more. It's a much tougher survival game than I had anticipated! Stephen, who reviewed this game, sunk 40 hours into it! - Aaron
this seems more fun then helldivers. and I’m also waiting for alone in the dark sale and then pre order announcements of any new silent hill or resident evil
I dont know how many years I have dreamed about a "roadtrip" game, where is only you and your car you have to take care of, drive, finding resources and stuff, surviving and all that stuff. Days Gone had this mechanic where you have to upgrade your bike but it was very basic. So recently I came by with this review, its like finally my dream game is made with deep learning curve and deep relationship with your wehicle, absolutley brutal, uninviting mysterious enviorment, this is gonna be really great journey, and I noticed this game has physichal version as well, so I had to order it!
Fired this up today and it is rough on PS5. Only has one graphics mode. Low res, low quality textures and shadows, pop in, jaggies and aliasing, and the worst offender is it’s uncapped framerate which bounces all over the place from 20’s and 30’s seemingly all the way up to near 60. It’s not a great first impression. Hopefully they’ll get some patches in but I’m surprised no review sites really mentioned this. I get they were probably playing the PC version but this one is in rough shape.
Not only that, but there's a gamebreaking bug 18 hours in on ps5. Exit gate wont open in red meadow research facility, it would really piss me off if this kills my run
Yeah I was wondering the same thing why no reviewers said anything about the fps I had bought the game thinking it was a solid 60 the devs did a poor job with console the ps5 could easily run this game 4K 60 but the devs are lazy
Double-A games are the best games. The budgets aren't so high that devs aren't willing to take a chance on more niche ideas. And at the same time it still has enuff of a budget to look like a polished product.
Speak for yourself buddy. My favorite game this year is Helldivers 2 which is a huge Sony game. Also looking forward to Dragons Dogma 2, a Capcom game. I bet you see games like Madden and CoD and assume all AAA games are bad. Up yours.
@Antony.T Helldivers 2 would he considered a AA game according to budget and pricing categories that people usually go by. It was published by sony, but not made by sony.
He def downplayed the performance issues. It’s bad. Like real bad. Very choppy and stuttery. VRR does nothing which tells me it’s running below 45fps 99% of the time. Unacceptable imo.
Blows my mind how a game like Horizon Forbidden West, a detailed open world game mind you, can run a solid 60fps yet this can’t SMH. I’ll wait for when the performance is 60fps or at least offers a stable frame rate experience.
This game was made by a small newer studio of 20 people. Not by the juggernaut that is Sony Studios. A couple hundred people with a blown out budget made Horizon. With that said, I do think it could have been polished a bit more.
I’ve heard rumors of it dropping to 30 fps is this true if so frame rate issues are probably a deal breaker for me it’s a shame this game did look cool
It’s like 30-40fps. Disappointing to say the least. Should be a standard for every ps5 game to be able to handle 60fps. I can’t stand anything lower lol
@@cathanbucko5594 30 fps is playable. 60fps is something you want and 30fps is something you need but yes a game that looks like this should be 60fps with no stutters. I'm okay with 30fps if it has raytracing though

It's in dire need of a patch, every fixing the car I'm told to get the first aid kits out of the locker, oops, I already took it, and now they're gone and apparently no one to get them back. Too make things worse, got this far figuring it's been auto-saving, nope. Also no save option so far. So yay, have to restart from the beginning. Oh also, getting into the car can be buggy. I get the enter car option, use it, it opens the door and thats it. The label now changes to "open door" but I if take the option it lets me sit in the car... Has the reviewer actually tried playing? These are some game killing bugs there.....
Did my first run and I'm extremely pleased with its level of complexity. I was expecting something much simpler. To my delight, it's not! Lots of scavenging and crafting with the lone-wolf feeling in a superb atmosphere! Don't expect perfect framerate and graphics. It's an excellent survival game.
With the price of most new games being $60-$70.00. I think if you can get a game for $30.00, and a lot of reviews are positive. You should put it on your wishlist. I expect some things to feel repetitive at a $30.00 price. I like open world games, but it's nice to have some games that keep you on mission.
looks good for 2hrs or so but honestly looks really repetitive and I heard it's like 15 to 20hrs but if ur wanting to 100% it will take 40 to 50 hrs love long games but like I said 2hrs pushing 3 it will start getting repetitive

@votpavel there's no graphics option that i can find honestly looks like inbetween 1080 and 1440p at 30fps witch is so disappointing how they not making it run on a ps5 4k 60 or even 1440p at 60 its not good looks like the forest if u ever played it the trees are probably wors then the forest.
Iron Wood Studio's forgot the Steam Deck was a thing when developing Pacific Drive, the small text guarantees the game will never be Steam Deck verified, what a shame.
@lawrencenewman9941 A great game with 30fps is suddenly bad? Yeah, right... Thanks for the useless insight! Been gaming for over 30 years and I'm sick of fake gamers who have nothing else to talk about besides framerate and resolution. You just make comments' sections reek.
I've been disappointed to find out that some PS5 games are missing content that is standard for the PC version. For instance, I have Stranded Deep on both platforms. But the console version has a much smaller map. There are about 50 searchable islands on PC, whereas the console only has 21.
Will you be checking out this car survival game? 👀
