I hav visited Rome 9 times from Melbourne, Australia. Your videos make me realise that I could visit 99 times and still not see all of this wonderful city. Perhaps I should have lived there like you !!
Ha ha, even living here, "a lifetime is not enough" as the Romans say. Non basta una vita! But hopefully you can come back again soon. :)
Elyssa, I think this may be your best video. It conveys the essence of Rome.
Thanks so much Greg! I'm really glad you like it. I have more like it in the works. Stay tuned!
We are staying right near the Trevi fountain so this video is so helpful to me!! Thank you

@@Romewise hope to definitely go for a 3rd time.
Hi there, I have seen so many walking videos covering Trevi to the Steps and not a single one of them mentioned entering the Farmacia and the Department store or the restaurants, OMG so obvious, but not until you mentioned the largest department store, did I then include it on my route towards the Piazza del Popolo as a major stop. It took me a month to discover you and your site is now my go-to for info. Thank you for all the information and some :) I know these videos are tiring I walk in the sun daily, but OMG are they priceless and the trust we have in you in providing us updated and accurate info, who needs Google? Grazie !!
Wow thank you so much for your kind comments! I'm so glad you find my video interesting and helpful - that's why I made it! Of course Google maps makes it easy to get around, but Rome is so rich with interesting things to see, do, eat, and drink that I wanted to show them on this walk. I have other walks, too, and I share similar favorite secret spots as I go.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know!
Elyssa, THANK YOU! I loved walking through the streets of Rome with you and seeing so many of my favorite spots (especially San Crispino!). Please keep these video walks coming, at least until we can get back to Rome ourselves! Un abbraccio!
Thank you so much Haley! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video. I've got a lot more coming, so stay tuned!
Great video! I love to see the backstreets and the little areas where I might not know! :)
Thanks so much! I've got many more like this coming so stay tuned!
Your videos are so helpful! I'm in Rome right now and planning to do the second walk in the coming days! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful walk.
Thanks for following along! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I really love these walks! You show so many wonderful sites !! Showing the two different walks to the same destination is a super idea and very helpful. Thank you sincerely, Alyssa!! Grazie!
Thanks a lot for your comments. I will make more like this. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
it was great seeing those little streets that led to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps, we found a restaurant bout 5 min away from the fountain which we Google and ate 2 night in a row, the first night we waited as the locals and was seated at a little hole/room across from main place and delicious food and the second night we made reservations! And was seated inside the main place ! can't remember the name anymore but was definitely popular with the locals. if we ever get back to Italy will check into your e books. bernini angels
Thanks so much Roxanne! It sounds like you had a wonderful time. If you find the name of the restaurant, please let us know!

Do you know why they won’t let people sit on the Spanish steps anymore? I got to do it a few years ago but I hear that they stop letting people do it
Yes that's correct. First they banned eating or drinking on the Spanish Steps because it was just getting out of control and the steps were constantly being dirtied from this. Bulgari had paid for a years-long renovation and cleaning of the fountain, the steps, and the church at the top and it may have been some of their influence that prompted the move to ban eating/drinking.
Eventually they had to ban sitting on the steps too. My guess is that because it had just gotten so crowded, it was impossible to walk up or down the steps which may have been a hazard. Also, with people sitting, they managed to sort of hide the fact that they were eating/drinking. But more than anything I think it was to clear the steps so they could in fact be used as steps, i.e. a way to physically get up and down them. I know it has disappointed many but they are enforcing it and I think that rule is here to stay.
@@Romewise Thank You. It looks better without all the people. Thanks for this video!
