OBVIOUSLY a Freudian slip... my guess your compunction is you've been tucking into some goodies on the side??? Me, almond M&Ms!!!!!😋 Both a compunction AND a compulsion!!🤦♀
You're definately gonna smash it pal, very disciplined training can't wait to see the race video. Massive good luck for it, hope the day goes exactly how you hope 🏃♂️👌🏆
Thanks a lot mate. I keep tweaking the editing, trying to improve over time. It's all good fun. I'll have to see how realistic the goal is on the day. It's all guesswork really 😁👍
Cheers, Mihai. I think the running and racing tips from AI are actually helping me at the moment. I can just ask it anything at any time and get an instant response. Sometimes have to take it with a pinch of salt, as they say though :)
Came for the weightlifting montages; stayed for information about your right nipple and handkerchiefs 😊. Can't wait to see the outcome from next weekend. Really hoping you get close to that 45 minute mark.
I give the people what they want 😂 Thanks a lot mate. I'll try to build into it on race day and see what I can do. If my 5k speed was a bit faster I'd be all in for sub 45. You never know though 🤞
@@markg99 just don't go off like a stabbed rat! You had a strong finish in that 5k. Psychologically, you know you can run at that speed. You don't need to do it all the way though. A quick final mile could make it 💪
Good luck for Sunday Mark. Those 800 reps sound tough, I used to do 8 x 400s on a Thursday before I cut back my running, enjoyed that session though. Interesting comment about Altra, fitting your feet properly, I might get some for trail running. You packed in a great variety of training there, you should be bulletproof on Sunday💪
Thanks, Andy 👍 I've been enjoying the 800 reps and various other distances from 400 to 1km. It makes a change for me from just plodding about at one pace. The Altra are zero drop of course so if you've not tried them before just be aware, and ease into using them if you go ahead with them. Loads of room in the toe box though 👌
I'm predicting a 45:20, BUT nooooo pressure, you've only put it on youtube for all the world to see, with or without hanky!!!!😆😜😉😁 BTW Mark have you seen Brodie Sharpe's videos and/or podcasts talking about Nordic Hamstring exercise?? Brodie did his final thesis on that to complete his physiotherapy studies back in the day and has often promoted doing them, including from other experts too, and now one of his most recent podcasts reviewed even more scientific evidence showing how phenomenally effective they are in improving performance. I'm gonna finally stop procrastinating over adding them to my workouts twice a week!!
I'd be happy with that time! 😁 Anything within 2 or 3 minutes would still be a PB so fingers crossed I'll get something to be pleased about whatever happens. I can totally believe that strong hamstrings will improve running performance. I do squats, deadlifts and Romanian deadlifts at the moment. Will be good to hear how you get on with the Nordic ones. I've heard they're quite tough at the start. Good luck 👍
Thanks a lot, Ben 💪 I think doing some new and varied training gives a lot of different stimulus to the body and should hopefully make me stronger for the race. Will find out on Sunday 😁👍
If you noticed me saying "compunction" when I meant "compulsion", I can only apologise for my evidently oxygen deprived little brain 😂

Thanks a lot mate 👍 Training has been good. Can feel those race nerves sneaking in. Should be a fun one 👌😄
Great training dude, your editing is noticeably getting better as well 👍 Beware that last minute goal creep 🏃♂️

The subtlety of the first bench made me smile 😂
Good luck on Sunday - everything seems to be moving in the right direction 👍
😁👍 cheers Greg. I can't wait for the race now. Feeling good and quite hopeful of getting a good time, hills permitting!
Love the dedication and the humor, Mark. You’ve got this race in the bag, hehe! Just remember, pain today, victory tomorrow. Good luck!

Much success this weekend, Mark! Excited to see you smash the race and set a new PB. Excellent final week of training!
Cheers mate 👍 I just checked the route to see about the elevation, and it seems pretty flat. Should be a big help with steady pacing 👌🙂
Solid training! Always good to see runners getting the lifting in.
Thanks, Jess 🙂👍 Barbell strength training was my first love, before running, so it's nice to be able to fit them both in now.
The handkerchief returns. Solid tapering advice from Mr GPT there.
If it goes well on Sunday I might have to call the handkerchief of the day my Lucky Hanky 😄
Good luck for Sunday Mark! I'm sure you'll come away with a PB. Hope your taper week is going to plan!
Thanks, Chloe 👍 I've just done my final session before the race. Can't wait to give it my best go now 😀

Good luck with your race mate, I’m sure you’ll smash it 💪🏼
Cheers mate 👍 I'm toying with the idea of identifying as a 90 year old woman, and going for the age group win 🏆 😁

Damn. No sense of adventure, that's your trouble mate 😂

#nipguards. Best product ever 👌
Of course! I'd forgotten about those. Top tip, Stu, cheers 👍
