Five Tribes is so good. It's in my top 5 of the 100ish games I own. I love the fact that there are so many different ways to score points. It's never the same strategy for each game.
Another nice thing in the competitive mode of Planet X is that each player can set a different difficulty level which basically gives each player a different amount of starting information.

Oh man... If I can only pick 1 farm game what will it be?... Viticulture, Agricola, Caverna, Hallertau, Fields of Arle, or La Granja? Somehow, I missed listening about La Granja all these years, but it now has my attention. for peats' sake, I need a Turing machine to determine which one. If I could only have 10 farm games, problem solved.
Love Five Tribes & Paladins for everything Mike already mentioned. Wingspan is always going to be played. Just one of the strongest lightweight entry games to the hobby yet offers enough depth to keep most gamers engaged. I am a bit sad there isn't a new bird mechanic type in the Asia box :(. Empires didn't click for us, every game always felt one sided especially if you couldn't acquire any raiding axes easily as some factions. Allowed strong early builds to just snowball. We even tried buying 2 of the small expacs for it and it just didn't improve it for us. Concerning the Ark Nova/TM comparison, I think it has quite a few even though they don't play like one another. Besides Tags and tableau building. You get bonuses for putting tiles out on certain spaces of the map. You have global conservation cards which are akin to awards/milestones. The player board/maps themselves are a little like the corp powers from TM. Either way, love both of them. Great list guys, looking forward to the next one.
I prefer the tightness of Calico because Cascadia is too simplistic to be fun to me. Personal preference, I suppose. But I’d take Verdant over either one. Anyway, back to my list of Games I Want To Replay: 30. ALUBARI: A NICE CUP OF TEA (NEW). A bit of route-building with a lot more crunch. Only played once; keen to try again. 29. TERRAFORMING MARS: ARES EXPEDITION (NEW). I’ve played Terraforming Mars and Roll for the Galaxy, and this game I like more than either of their inspirations. Just like Terraforming Mars, it starts slow but it ramps up towards the end. Bought a copy after my first play. 28. THE TAVERNS OF TIEFENTHAL (-20). A neat little dice manipulation game with a fun theme. 27. WILD SPACE (+7). Why do more people not talk about this fast, clean, addictive engine builder? It’s so good! And you only have 10 turns in the game so you have to optimise your action combos fast! 26. TRAMWAYS (NEW). I found this game’s player interaction really interesting (weird, because I don’t usually like a lot of interaction). Another crunchy route-builder. 25. NORIA (NEW). A friend brought this game to a game night, and it’s got a satisfying crunch and gorgeous art. It’s not perfect but I really enjoyed it. 24. TZOLK’IN: THE MAYAN CALENDAR (NEW). Finally played this! You know why it’s good based on the description in this video. 23. PALADINS OF THE WEST KINGDOM (-19). Really like this one. Haven’t tried Viscounts but I do like Paladins slightly more than Architects. Both good games, though. 22. BUS (NEW). This game came up at SHUX … and we couldn’t play it just once! Such a weird worker placement mechanism with a wonky theme and a competitive map. Just good, silly fun! 21. LOST RUINS OF ARNAK (+14). This one went up for me with the Expedition Leaders expansion, but it’s still a good game without. -TO BE CONTINUED-
Wow cool perspective about Calico! I prefer the theme of that one and was debating which to get. I think I’ll give Calico a go as my family is into the yarn arts! 🧶
Tzolkin!! I think that game is ripe for an expansion...it's soooooo good. The Czechs are game geniuses. I see that can of coldest water making an appearance:-)
@@TheBrothersMurph you're right! I only have the physical base game and have only played the base game on BGA. I need to get the expansions...it just needs a little more complexity.
MARVEL UNITED LOVE. Marvel United is my number (SPOILERS) game of all time. My top ten continued! 30. Pandemic System - Season 2 might be my favorite so far (haven't played Season 0 yet or the Clone Wars). 29. Notre Dame - Love to see how sick you can get and still win. 28. Caper: Europe - I always play the Ocean's 12 soundtrack while I play. It's a whole thing. 27. Vindication - What a silly thing that I love so much! The cards communicate so much fun flavor! 26. Caesar!: Seize Rome in 20 Minutes! - This game is so tense and so good. I enjoy Blitzkrieg (especially the variable US side of the board,) but this game beats it. 25. Puerto Rico - I am surprised how high this game is, but now that there is going to be a version of the game I'm willing to buy, I might try to own the game. 24. Le Havre - This is my favorite Uwe game by a country mile. The decision of whether or not to take a stack of goods is DEVASTATING. So simple but will stop you in your tracks. You will become filled with regret. 23. Brass: Birmingham - The card system in this game is so good. Setup and the first turn of the game are weird, but there are so many little levers to pull that it's just great stuff. 22. Return to Dark Tower - Oh my stars, this is how all dungeon delving games should go. The turns are so smooth, the expansions offer delightful wrinkles. So good. 21. War Chest - Another spectacular head-to-head abstract. This system (implemented in Undaunted) is at its best here. Understanding the strengths of the unit types and how to populate your bag is such a fun puzzle. SO GOOD.
Yeah I agree about Wingspan. I love trying to break the game and make a broken engine, which is also why I love games like Slay the Spire. I see why super competitive people might not like that, but c'mon... it's fun.
So the end of the theme song we hear “Matthew Jude’s better”. And he seems pretty great but if he’s making that claim I assume that means his charity top 100 is coming soon? Can you confirm that here? 30. Lost Cities 29. Bohnanza 28. Innovation 27. Ark Nova 26. For Sale 25. Architects of the west kingdom 24. Space Base 23. Hansa Teutonica 22. The Castles of Burgundy 21. Villagers

-TO BE CONTINUED-
That's fair about Calico. And we just got Verdant, can't wait to play it!
It has a couple already, are you talking about more expansions?
@@TheBrothersMurph you're right! I only have the physical base game and have only played the base game on BGA. I need to get the expansions...it just needs a little more complexity.
Escape games make me feel super dumb too 😆
At least it's not just me lol
I see why super competitive people might not like that, but c'mon... it's fun.
Yup, exactly
So the end of the theme song we hear “Matthew Jude’s better”. And he seems pretty great but if he’s making that claim I assume that means his charity top 100 is coming soon? Can you confirm that here?
30. Lost Cities
29. Bohnanza
28. Innovation
27. Ark Nova
26. For Sale
25. Architects of the west kingdom
24. Space Base
23. Hansa Teutonica
22. The Castles of Burgundy
21. Villagers
His charity Top 100 will blow ours out of the water
What?!? No “Praise be!” ? I am disappointed. Not really 😂 keep up the great list and videos guys!
I knowwwwwww we fail
Oh those deluxe Tzolkin components... Mmmmmm
Deluxe bitsssss
@@TheBrothersMurph my preciousssssss
5 Tribes is the best game ever!!!!!
Nick always sayin that Ex Libris is his favorite solo game yet he turns around and ranks Search for Planet X higher and says he only wants to play it solo 🤔
Don’t bring your logic here
Sooooooo close to not having to wade through absolute garbage. Looking forward to not having to shower and delouse after every video!
I'm so over the trash in these lists
I'm the first, yeah! Love you guys. Thank you!
Yasssss
Great list and video as always. I really disliked Marvel United. The game was just way to lite for me.
That's fair
Planet X is insanely hard solo. You are probably better than you think at the game.
To be fair, I don't usually win...
I really need to dust of dungeon pets....shame on me
SHAMEEEEEEE
These games were really good when you talked about them but now they are trash to me
Dead to us as well. Already out of this house
