I loved Wild Gardens! Dwayne, the theme made me think of you: gathering ingredients to cook food for your friends. 😊 Happy New Year to you and Alicia from me and Michelle!
I love that Super Pets was mentioned! It is the card game version of the tamagotchi pets I took care of as a 90's kid. 😂 A great family game too. I'm so intrigued by Creature Caravan. I love the simultaneous play in Come Sail Away, so I think I would like this.
Oh man! I was so happy to see Mistwind! It’s such a great game and I can’t understand why hardly anyone is even mentioning it, let alone putting it in their top games. I’m so glad I found someone who agreed with me that it’s fantastic.
Love the lists, so many fun games there. I got Wild Gardens for Xmas and I’m psyched to play with the solo campaign! And yes that is a beautiful color shirt you’re wearing Alicia, you look great in it! Actually both of you are rocking some awesome colors. 💜💙
The Gang is a huge hit with my various groups of friends, even with people who don’t really like playing board games, they had a ton of fun with this one. I love River valley, I am always in a game of this on BGA. Great lists. So many games I want to try now.
Excellent lists! Alicia putting Windmill Valley as #1 definitely makes me want to play it much more as I like similar weight of games as her. (Next time I play my copy of Wild Gardens….I will look more closely at that character!) Thanks for the video and Happy New Year!!
Happy and Healthy New Year to you and everyone here! :D Thank you for sharing your gaming explorations and hope you have the chance to play plenty of great games this year!
Hey, I just watched your list, and I have to say, it was fantastic! Your insights and commentary really made it stand out. I love how you broke everything down and explained each point so clearly. You clearly put a lot of thought and effort into it, and it really paid off. Keep up the awesome work!" Sidenote love the shirt too GO LIONS!!!
Thank you for sharing your list! I really want to play Mistwind now. Precisely a pickup and delivery game I enjoyed a lot this year was Cargo Empire. It's a nice pickup and delivery puzzle. I also enjoyed Let's Go to Japan. I played it with my son's best friend who's 10 right before he went to Japan. Now I'm expecting to hear about what he saw there that he had seen in the game. My other highlights for 2024 were Comic Hunters, First in Flight, (both very solid fun), and two enhanced old ones, Trekking the World 2nd Edition (very nice redesign) and Sushi Go! 10th Anniversary (with different delicious desserts to switch with different fun scoring mechanisms). Happy New Year, guys! Hope you all have blasts of fun and good health all throughout 2025!
It seems from this video that Alicia has yet to play Creature Caravan. Not sure if you do this Dwayne, but when I'm teaching the game, I do the first round as turns and make sure everyone is ready to go simultaneous after that. It's such a fun and well designed game, and the simultaneous play really does make sense. I always ask people what kind of engine they have going, and it's usually very cool.
I'm so excited you mentioned Super Kawaii Pets! I just bought it for my friend's granddaughter (she's 12) who's one of my best gaming partners. I found it at my FLGS, and it looked like something Sadie would like, and it has a solo mode. I'm happy to get a thumbs up from Alicia! And I love River Valley Glassworks, that's probably my favorite of the year. And Dewayne - Mistwind looks very interesting, because flying whales!?!?!!!?! 😁😁😁
@ yep. You were very early and it is much appreciated. We are closing in on 200 in our first year. Great lists. We will definitely have some cross overs next week. I just posted my most anticipated this week.
Really great list of games! All super good. I think 2024 was very good (I agree with Dwayne) and SETI is one of my top games! Also, if you can get it and like a heavier game, check out Civolution. It is really good solo as well (and I don't play solo games very often).
I played 18 games released in 2024 last year. My top were: 1 Galileo Galilei 2 Tír na nÓg 3 Gnome Hollow 4 Águeda: City of Umbrellas 5 Castle Combo 6 The Search for UAPs 7 French Quarter 8 Donut Shop 9 Aqua ROVE: Results-Oriented Versatile Explorer 10 Spectacular 11 Café Baras 12 Harmonies 13 Color Field 14 Maple Valley 15 Another Man's Treasure I really need to try Windmill Valley.
