When I adopted the most beautiful Mustang in the world, my first thought was: "what have I done?"....... turned out to be one the best decisions of my life. He is a true friend. Please if you adopt, make sure you have the ability (or the ability to hire someone) to properly "train" and care for them. Its not all "tree-hugging" and "rainbows", it can get intense real quick.
I agree, I hope to adopt a mustang once my family and me get to Central/northern Idaho. Where I live now, we own 4 horses, we used to breed them. We don't anymore and have 2 of the original Mares, and each of them have one of there babys, ( both geldings) one mare is 33ish ( my horse) and she is slowed down some, she's a tough cookie ( she just pulled through an impacted colon, and sand colic, all the while with a pretty good heart murmur) but she has trouble getting started in the morning. I don't want THAT Day to come but IK it will eventually. I am also re starting a gelding that had been rushed in his training, he will kick, bite and buck a bit and has managed to get me once in the upper thigh, he doesn't bite as much and I can ride him bareback in a halter, he could be a great trail horse. God willing and Time allowing, I would love to take on a mustang ( probably a younger one) and train it to be an endurance\trail\hunting-pack horse.
We have mustangs out of the mountains in Oklahoma. Grullas are pretty common there. We have a young grulla mare and a buckskin dunn stud. They started a family and we now have a grulla colt. 😊 Mustangs are amazing horses.
So sad to see that there is soo little interest, and that you can actually buy one for as little as 25 dollars. A cat from our local shelter would cost me more to take home...

So I grew up on a ranch, I want to start training my own horses when I was about 18 (5-6 years ago) and I didn't have much money and my grandpa said that if you train a wild horse you dont have to fix anyone else's mistakes. Now we had some ranch horses that were a handful so I grew up on horses with a lot of energy that weren't trained well so I figured I could train a wild horse no problem. Boy was I in for a surprise. Luckily I bought the Clinton Anderson dvd's or I would still be out there fighting with those horses. It makes me chuckle when I see people say they want to learn how to train a wild horse. You better have a ton of grit and you better have real horsemanship knowledge because if you dont, you will only get frustrated, put yourself in dangerous positions, and won't get much of a horse. I would highly recommend Clinton Anderson's colt starting dvds.
@@EliannaCH no he is not a dog he is a wild animal he will never be happy in captivity just like most other animals. Better to give him a second chance than take over he's life.
Where are you located at when you have these little Mustang auctions for 25 or more because I would like to know if you guys ever right up to Kentucky or Tennessee like that or you know something like that closer to where I'll be moving to or where you located so maybe I could buy my way to where you guys are holding these little auctions at
If you can please answer the question for me how many states do you take these Mustangs and Burros two of you looked at some of us cannot get to out-of-state sample I'll be living in Kentucky and I would really love to own a couple if not a few months just a Mustang I'm looking for mares with foals and a few Jenny's with 5 babies in them too price of one and I really would like to know come June where are you guys going to be at hopefully somewhere near wyomi or really really near Kentucky
Nobody ever answered my questions do you guys take some Mustangs and Burros to Kentucky somewhere and adopt them out there I would like you to get one or two pregnant mares that saving two in one even a burro
Sad these horses that are worth well over a $1000 go for $25, people don't appreciate the wild horse and burro and after a year when adopters get title some wind up at Horse Auction Kill Pens.
No one has told me where the Mustang facility are where I can choose between the Colts and adult horses and mules so where can I go what facility or the Mustang speed helmet being now that we have the right to go there
could you please tell me where you're located at cuz I am moving to Kentucky this coming March April and I plan on coming into your horse adoption I meant I don't have much money but I would like to walk away with two or three horses are some of them get to be pregnant or are some of them pregnant having baby
Sorry I'm lying to speakerphone I just wondering where you're located because come this April May I will be able to. My first two or three Mustang some I've dreamt about all my life and I want to watch where you at least three of them but I would really love to get at least one mirror that is pregnant so could you please let me know where you're located at
What are you doing $25 and up auction that I'm here I mean I will go to Wyoming nowhere anyone can you please let me know where can I get a few Mustang that $25 then. Not just babies I would like to get the pregnant mares because that's two in one you know you're only set one at a time please let me know where this is found located at and if they do in Kentucky or near Kentucky
You adoptions in Kentucky for Mustangs I would really like to adopt me if you come June but Texas is so far away but I might have to make that trail I guess I'm going to tell me how much it would be for me to get a ride somebody to drive my truck my horse back to my property
It's a shame they're removing them off the B.L.M. (PUBLIC LANDS) we pay taxes on for them to stay there. They are removing them because ranchers want the free grazing for their cattle.
TheVictoriaAdvocate How do you order a wild horse online? I am trading my car and all worldly possessions for a horse, some seeds and basic tools needed to survive.
Horses cannot be sold for slaughter in the USA.That is why they have these auctions near the Mexico and Canada borders where buyers from those countries to take the horses back for slaughter

... theyre rehoming them, theyre not separating them. The people who dont want them on their land are separating them. If not for these guys theyd all be run off and dead.
From my experience with mustangs..These horses have been driven out of their home lands and are now kept on private land for the most part. In some cases they are over populated and in poor condition. They need to be homed. Sadly, In areas where they are "free" they are mostly seen as problematic and are being shot. Which is why they are trapped and kept on private lands and/or sold.

So how do burros contribute to predator control? Sacrifice animals?
They will chase and attack dogs and coyotes, driving them away from the herd. In some areas llamas are used in the same way.

“Ferrell horses” are devastating the landscape and displacing true wildlife. They shouldn’t be eradicated but more forms of control should exist.
