This video is an explanation of what BMW actually means by Twin Power Turbo. There is a common misconception that this means twin turbo, when in reality this actually means twin scroll turbo and on all 6 and 4 cylinder models 2011 and newer are all actually single turbo. In this video I explain the differences between the two. I actually prefer the single turbo and there seems to be less issues than with the original twin turbo engine. Both engine are actually exactly same outside of the turbo setup, outside of very minor differences. My goal here is just to inform and not o into detail over load. twin scroll is perfectly fine for such a small engine, besides two actual turbos would make it heavier in the front. My 2014 528 with 2.0 is by far the best bmw engine I've had. Previously owned 525 with 3.0 and 128 with 3.0 they both are under-performing slow engines. I'm loving this new 2.0 in sports mode on the high way... just hoping that my extended warranty will cover chain issues at 100k

The single turbo is my preference, it has less issues than the previous n54 model. However you are comparing an naturally aspirated engine to a turbo engine. Yes the power figures are less but the feel and sound is better on the na engine ( I can't comment on the 525i or 128i) I had a e46 330i and an e90 328i. The f30 328i is faster but feels significantly different to me. The n55 i6 twin scroll and the n54 twin turbo actually put out identical specs. And the extra weight between these engines is very minor. Really the point of the video was just to explain that twin power did not mean twin turbo as some people believe. Thanks for watching. I am a big fan of NA engines, but the n55 I have been very happy with, with over 100k on ours, I have not had injector issues, intake manifold is clean and no other common n54 issues. What's the chain issue?

Well put explanation. I had ideas on how BMW did this turbo, and I was fairly on point, this just cleared up my suspicions.

When poem means the exhaust and the intake on the turbo the exhaust pulls up to help the intake work that's it you're taking two years in a day to explain a simple thing like that

I can hear fine on my end, but this was before I added an external Mic to my go pro. The reason for the heavy breathing was, morning traffic and heading to a job I hated.

Twin Power Turbo means - The engine has Double VANOS and VALVETRONIC (twin power adder) and it has a turbocharger. Has nothing to do with twin-scroll.

Twin power is a twin scroll single turbo on the n55. N54 was a twin turbo but did not come in the x5 at least in the states. There’s also a v8 twin turbo. But twinpower is a reference a twin scroll turbo, not twin turbo.
