I was amazed when the chrony in the shroud was mentioned, airgun tech has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years. Couple that with the pinpoint accuracy, and you've got a stellar rifle, nice work Daystate.
It was a pleasure watching you shoot this on Saturday Jake, and you're right, they look so much better in the 'flesh'. Those are some excellent results 'out the box' considering you've only tried two pellet types, and the rilfe is new to you. My own Pulsar is a genuine laser, and it's nice to see it's spiritual successor, the Delta Wolf continuing the trend, and pushing the envelope further. In my opinion, this is the action that should be sitting in the GP stock, providing that all important velocity tuning. Great video as usual Jake, and looking forward to your journey with this one 😊
I am very impressed with the out of the box accuracy and your presentation of the rifle. The electronics have been available for a few years now and I haven't heard of any issues. It definitely looks a cracking piece of kit.
As a happy Alpha Wolf owner (16 months in, also from CSS), will be watching your thoughts on your new AW keenly as your time goes on. Blue one is a beautiful looking bit of kit, congrats on your stunning latest thing!
Agree, love my red one (although that blue is lovely) and is my go-to even after all these months. PRS kit is fantastic, however not too sure on the new rotary single shot loader. Have one, but think I prefer the original flip out type. Looking forward to the content in the near future on the AW. Cheers. @@sub12airgunners
Be good to see the computer setup vid and an indepth accuracy test after it is run in properly if its good now it should get better with a couple of tins of pellets through it this is the best channel on here in my opinion well done mate
Very nice review. Really like this rifle and it looks better in blue not red. also the Brocock Ghost (Daystate sister company). Had to laugh as I am late 60s and my first rifle cost me a whacking £35 lol now these rifles are well over £2,000. To start out now could cost £4k so not a cheap hobby. Plus clubs around here only open Wednesday evening and Sunday morning pity there are not a few more followers. Would be nice to have a shoot in Florida there laws are more relaxed than ours. Tale care happy shooting and nice video.
yes sir i have shot my mates one and was mega impressed with the rifle . an absolute joy to shoot . absolutely accurate . the trigger is sublime and for a bull pup the action noise was minimal. no need to fanny about with it straight out the box it was cock on . very easy to program and the fact you can adjust your pellet speed is the icing on the cake was not particularly pellet fussy and made a pretty crappy shot like me look like the american sniper at 50 yards . will it bench i really think so for sure the pro kit is definitely worth the money 👍
Great video. Not trying to be Nancy Negative, I really like my Delta Wolf, but my main issue is Daystate's stinginess. You pay top money for a premium rifle, and then you get to pay more for a usable butt pad and cheek riser. I don't mind paying for a bigger bottle or moderator, those are upgrades. But to pay so much money and not have an adjustable cheek riser and that ridiculous lump of plastic they call a butt pad is just cheap for the sake of being cheap. And if you pay more premium money for a barrel kit to shoot another caliber, you get to pay even more for a magazine. Yep, $625 US for a barrel kit and another $100 for a mag. I love my Delta Wolf, but I think the weird teal moderator isn't the tackiest thing about Daystate. I would be interested to know what pellet weights are pre-loaded in the factory tune settings for the sub-12 rifles. My Delta with updated FAC firmware only gives .177 weights of 13.43 and 15.89 grains. I'm not even sure who makes a 15.89gr pellet. So I just use the advanced settings for everything, works great. And the .30 barrel is an efficient beast. I use the same reg pressure (120 bar) to shoot .177 at 12 fpe from the 23" barrel as the .30 with the 27" barrel at 93 fpe. (Disclaimer, I'm in the states so I'm allowed to turn the amplifier up to 11). I was looking for one rifle that I could use for anything and this is it. Anyway, congrats on getting what is clearly a shooter. I don't have the attention span for benchrest, I've been using my Delta for FT and our Extreme FT (out to 100 yards).
Glad you’ve found your favourite rifle. Personally I don’t like the idea of electronics. Again you mention a rifle’s single piece main block and this has me interested (at least a long sturdy breech housing to hold more of the barrel securely for a more traditional rifle), or more precisely just creating a precise hole through a long breech block has me bewildered; using either a small lathe (400mm ctc), drill press or borrowed milling machine. Can you suggest how someone in a small workshop would produce a precise 14mm/16mm hole through a solid block of say 250 to 300mm? Thanks.
They are, but just save up man, sell some other stuff you don't need, and buy a Red Wolf, then you can sell all of your other guns because you will not need them :)
best gun ever - that truly is a bold statement. one query though - if the cheek piece comes as part of the upgrade kit, does a standard rifle mean a 90 degree corner in the cheek? Also, I think the omission of a decent butt pad is not good in this day and age. Regarding the support - thats excellent news and I hope other manufacturers follow suit.....be prepared for their calls :D :D :D
🤣 yes Jake fancied getting some stick, best gun ever is always going to be a fun statement 🤣 the cheek piece comes with the gun it's the adjustable one that comes with the pro kit and i agree a butt pad should come with the gun.
Great gun with out a doubt but would it take being dropped 6 foot up a high seat like my hw 100 bpk did this weekend.with the side lever open I may add.and yes still shot great, day states are to be treasured and why not.
There does seem to be a pattern a curing when you shoot a 50 yards , I had the same with my delta wolf , I always shoot groups of 5 like your self, most of the time you would get 3 touching and then 2 going off , would drive me potty , I kept blaming myself or the pellets , but in the end I had to just except that’s how it shoots , great informative vid again buddy
Well, well Daystate have gone up in my estimation! Making videos to help owners! Made in England and with the cost of sending abroad, I can see myself owning one in future. Well done. Only one thing I would like to see added. The chronograph, make it like the FX pocket chronograph so it speaks from smart phones and we don't have to look at the screen on the rifle.
Great video. I had to treat myself to one after watching this 😉. I was wondering if you've thought anymore about making a video for tuning it? I would be very interested in seeing what settings you've found to be optimum 👍
That is one good looking rifle and looks to give good performance out of the box. Whilst tempting I do have my eyes out for an Epic 2 which looks like they are close to shipping now.
I have both FX AND DAYSTATE = IMPACT M3 and ALPHA WOLF BLUE, keep this on mind one rifle is mechanical the other one is mechanical/electronic which means it has a computer , solenoids, however both need someone capable of thinking , mechanically inclined to work on those guns ,you can add on a lot of accessories so now that we establish the fundamentals let’s not be so dramatic if you can’t get part or extra warranty for you gun , stack up on extra parts most common to fail ( o-rings, trigger, etc) be safe.
Enjoyed video and your presentation very much - as usual I may add. Just a couple of small questions "Which single shot loader did you use for the test? " & "Does your trigger blade add to ultimate accuracy - in your opinion?" Thanks agin for a thoroughly professional video - looking forward to the next, regardless of model chosen.

Hi Jeff, how do the electronic triggers feel compared to a normal 2stage trigger, also would the scope rail fit the brk ghost as it seems lower than the ghost one I've always been fussy about having my scope too high 😀

Hi, I have a new red wolf. Having problems finding a palm rest for HFT. Tried a few but not suitable. The one I like best has an opening to insert fill probe. Trouble is even with a long adapter I can’t get my finger and thumb in to lock it on. Been considering a spark plug plier. Do you know if there’s an extra extra long foster adapter on the market ? It would be helpful to new owners if you could explain what effect the adjustments to reg pressure, pulse and voltage have to the shots and how they relate to each other. Love this rifle but I use factory loaded sets would love to use my own but unsure how this triangle of settings work. Your explanation is always clear and informative.
Hi from Los Angeles, CA - I just ordered an Alpha Wolf Blue special edition and have been searching for info on the gun- and came across your channel. Thanks for your work on these videos. Mine won't be a Sub12 airgun - will there be much difference in programming and maintenance between the Sub12 and US models? Also, I noticed Daystate has a video on the Safari Edition of the Alpha Wolf, but nothing on the Blue Special Edition. Is there much difference between the two - other than looks. I MUCH prefer the blue stock - and agree with you that the blue moderator looks a little off, color-wise. I didn't order the accessory kit, but did get the PRS butt pad and an upgraded Accu-Tac BR-4 G2 bipod.
Hi thanks for watching the videos 👍 it's great to have viewers from across the pond 😁 the programming will be quite different to the sub 12 you will be able to enter the pellet speeds you would like and the gun will adjust for you, you will just have to adjust the reg 👍 the blue AW is basically the same as the others apart from looks and the cocking handle. good luck with your new gun and i hope it's an absolute lase like ours👍

absolutely, this is a fantastic gun and it is one of my favourites it's had thousands of pellets through it now and it makes the cut and comes to the range every week 😀
Great video as always. No shot count as such ( unlike the later Redwolf) but does have a shot count for the magazine size ( which no one I know uses !) Being a software platform could be added but I would rather see the Bluetooth be put to use ( say via an app to record shot data or sending profiles for different ammunition ) which I’m sure will come as it’s a platform that can be added to. Glad to see the DTD cable being included on this version
I don’t think BSA management really care about their products reliability , 😔and have a track record consistently releasing so say new improved rifles with performance problems. 🤔I guess as long as they sell enough 💵💰. the suits get their money and drive their big cars while manufacturing and selling products that they have no interest or passion for.
I do not understand buttstocks like this. I was taught to hold a rifle much like a modern day PRS shooter....setting up directly behind the rifle and putting the stock against my chest. I do not snug it under my arm pit. So these buttstocks feel horrible for me. I need an actual pad. This is the same reason I hate most shooting benches (and I think they need to change) you should be more directly behind the gun as opposed to canted off the side.
Nope, as soon as you mention electronics i'm not interested!!. I bought a Daystate 30 odd years ago & after 20 years the trigger had problems. I contacted Daystate. NOT INTERESTED!!. You can still get parts for 100 year old BSA's, but Daystate are only interested in selling & nothing else. Daystate also try to come over the 'Rolex' of air rifles ... they are not. Fall for the hype & you will be mugged!
That is not the service i have received over the years so i am surprised to here that 😔 as for parts try to buy a lower block for an r10 they no longer make them so the hole rifle is scrap if you have a problem with that part
In the US, getting service even for new defective daystates can be surprisingly challenging, let alone support for older rifles. Really pushed me away from the brand. :( They are such beautiful rifles, it's unfortunate.

Being a software platform could be added but I would rather see the Bluetooth be put to use ( say via an app to record shot data or sending profiles for different ammunition ) which I’m sure will come as it’s a platform that can be added to.
Glad to see the DTD cable being included on this version
Better than FX then.
this compared to the last FX we had is in a different league 😁😁
what is the pellet speed of this toy?
that would depend on what pellet you wanted to use
@@sub12airgunners can you shoot 20 mm wood from 35m?
We need XTi-50 please😎😎😎
we will be doing one at some point 👍👍
Can you still shoot it if the battery dies?
No you can't shoot with a flat battery but the battery does last thousands and thousands of shots 👍
Daystate affiliated now?
no we are not doing any videos on our channel just technical information videos for there technical department
Chao ban....
😀

I do not understand buttstocks like this. I was taught to hold a rifle much like a modern day PRS shooter....setting up directly behind the rifle and putting the stock against my chest.
I do not snug it under my arm pit. So these buttstocks feel horrible for me. I need an actual pad.
This is the same reason I hate most shooting benches (and I think they need to change) you should be more directly behind the gun as opposed to canted off the side.
I thought that was the ugliest air rifle on the market until i found out about the scout epoch
🤣 you haven't been looking that hard then 🤣🤣
Very nice unfortunately too heavy priced
thanks for watching, yes they are very expensive
Edit: Very nice, unfortunately i can't afford one...
Shot my mate's Alfa wolf safari and my tuned tx200 had less recoil than it.
the older ones had a bit but the later ones have very little recoil 👍👍
Nope, as soon as you mention electronics i'm not interested!!. I bought a Daystate 30 odd years ago & after 20 years the trigger had problems. I contacted Daystate. NOT INTERESTED!!. You can still get parts for 100 year old BSA's, but Daystate are only interested in selling & nothing else. Daystate also try to come over the 'Rolex' of air rifles ... they are not. Fall for the hype & you will be mugged!
Bye…👍
That is not the service i have received over the years so i am surprised to here that 😔 as for parts try to buy a lower block for an r10 they no longer make them so the hole rifle is scrap if you have a problem with that part
People said these things about digital music and cell phones also.
In the US, getting service even for new defective daystates can be surprisingly challenging, let alone support for older rifles. Really pushed me away from the brand. :( They are such beautiful rifles, it's unfortunate.
30 years ago, and after 20 years you had a problem and expected what, a warranty? Can you not hear yourself. 😂
Far to expensive, electronics a no no .
each to there own i love the electronics 😀
