Ive held off getting one myself for the moment, its an interesting bit of kit but its a fair bit of cash. Quite a brave price point to pitch it at..a lot of competition.
I hope it proves to be decent and command the money. Its been great seeing it evolve over the last few years. The guys at epic deserve some success especially with how transparent they have been through its development.
I have to agree its a strong price but you do get a fair bit for the money and yes they do deserve a bit of good luck it's a very solid platform with lots of nice touches 👍

That valving and reg arrangement looks like it could be refined a bit for sub12 specific rigs. I look forward to seeing how your one evolves 😉

Great video as always mate. You’ve made up my mind for my next rifle I got a Deamline tactical like your old one and was going to move onto Impact mk3. But after seeing this it’s gotta be this one. I’ve used Crawley surplus ever since it opened and always go to them as they can source most stuff and fairly priced. This one ticks all the right boxes I do simple tunes with different pellets and don’t fanny around with much. You don’t need a FAC to enjoy shooting or jump through hoops to get one. Always enjoy your vids 👍👍

Nice to see the rife stripped down and the quality of the work inside looks to be decent. I ended up going for the 550mm barrel version. Those two gauges looked to have finished the rifle off very nicely, I might have to indulge in those. Haven't had any issues with my magazines, I brought a second with the rifle. I see CARM have their own version of a magazine now and also a singe shot loader, so I am going to get some from them. I found it awkward to thumb in the pellets.
I found the butt pad has a bit of wobble to it and have to remember to take that up with the adjusting wheel as well as locking it with the lower screw.
The rifle is probably limited at 12ftlb and would really excel as an FAC.
yes a better shot count on the longer one, our new mag has arrived and it's much better than the first one so we must have just got a dodgy one, really looking forward to this one

Nice you have an Epic Two. Got one in .25 with the 550 barrel. Have it now fitted with an 700 .22 barrel kit. After some testing it does now 920 fps with the 25 gr .22 jumbo monster redesigned. Reg is now is now set at 100 bar. Sorry to hear of your trouble with the magazine. Mine is smooth as silk. At testing from 130 to 100 bar groups got smaller. At 100 bar most are 10 mm ctc or smaller. 50 mtr indoor. Smallest was a 5 shot group 6.5 mm ctc. Am very happy with my Epic. After years of ‘ improving’ another big brand , sold most of them it is so nice to have a gun which delivers. Did fit and made a depinger though, it had an loud ping. Now it is solidly dead for sound. Love it. The CZub barrels are pellet barrels. Ordered an 55 LW .22 poly barrel set unchoked for slugs. Hope that works out.
our one is only sub 12 but i can see that it would give good power in fac 😀 we have a new mag now so fingers🤞it will be ok i am sure it will be 😀 thanks for watching 👍

Please do more shots for your groups. 5 shot groups don’t give you a full picture of the dispersion.
Do at least 20 shot groups and you will probably find that your not getting flyers, your getting a natural dispersion of that rifle and pellet combo. As for barrel harmonics on sub 12, not to sure. There’s no data to support it either way. Personally I don’t see it as a problem, there are so many other variables that would eclipse barrel harmonics in sub 12.
Interesting rifle but tactical style not for me. I study ballistics for a hobby and really like to talk with you about how you could really nail down a guns potential. I have recorded data through actual shot trials for 30 different pellets and some of the results have been incredible.

This one's been on my radar but thought you might do a review so good job I waited. I'm always wary of buying the first iteration as so many companies these days seem to bring them to the market first and then let the public do the long term testing for them to highlight problems. This is not exactly a cheap rifle by any measure so you wouldn't expect any initial problems but that magazine issue is obviously one. The rifle looks well made and what particularly appeals to me is the none choked barrel. As more and more of the new lighter style slugs are coming to market, this is a good move by epic as slugs seem to prefer a none choked barrel. It would be interesting if you could try some through for us please?

thanks very much 😀 yes the mag is a bit disappointing but i have spoken to other people with the epic and i think i might just be unlucky nobody seems to be having problems with them, we do plan on do a slug test on this gun as it's unchoked we have a good selection to try so that will be interesting. Glad you like the Ghost i think it's one of the best for the money out there at the mo
I really enjoy your knowledge and smartness when you do these videos I wish I had your knowledge and expertise. Yea the Epic looks pretty good I like it, right now I only have my R3M in 25 caliber and my HW97KT in 22 caliber. The one gun I would love for you to do a review on is the Taipan Tactical with the Kevlar bottle if you ever get a chance to. Happy Easter my friend and take care buddy.

Looks like a very high quality airgun. I also have a small leak in my best fittings connector from time to time. But as it was never there from the beginning, I think mine could be oring wear and tear affecting the seal. I did not know you could service those connectors. What oring should you use to fix it?
yes you can just replace the o ring we supply a spare with our ones 👍 i am not sure what size best fitting use
As usualy another great and honest review. I was looking at getting one of the 550mm barreled ones to hopefully get a much higher shot count out of the box in sub12. so I'd be very untreated if you make any adjustment tools for sale. I am already looking forward to any follow-up videos and any more suggested improvements you might suggest.

Remove the front gauge and put a foster fill in front and then tap threads the side for the gauge would make it a better set up😊

Hi mate great video my mate at my club got one of these and had a major problem with pellets or bits of lead getting into the block some how and it won’t cock he sent it back and they said it’s never happened before but he wasn’t confident with it any more so he has now got a Vulcan 3
not had anything like that with our one 😀 the v3 is a great gun though
Found the magazine as problematic as you did. I asked Darko at Carm for a SSL and he sent one to examine and it eliminated any notchiness. The magazine he sent also works a treat.

The matter became clear. It wasn't the magazine's fault. Transfer Port (limited, with a small hole) had a small technological volcano and milled shot. I corrected it with a mini grinder and now both my TPs are good and reloading is smooth
looks like a brocock xr magazine i wonder if it would fit oneof the earlier mags from before they updated the mags
it may do i will have a nose round see if i can find one to try
Just a quick update I had a look on their website they do this model with a bottle or maybe a conversion kit. And they are made in CZ 👍👍

Id love to buy so mutch your trigger blades .Recently i purchased an Airmak Katran L and the spinning charging handle you make is not to be found on ebay .It would be so lovely to be able to purchase these items .Any availability?
How did you fit the digital gauge at the front? Considering one for my FX Dreamline but not sure how to go about it.
it's just a direct replacement so very simple to do 😀

I honestly believe,were you received your rifles,did not do a quality check after the shipment arrived and you should had explained in better detail on your dislikes,I’m not trying to judge or tell you how to conduct your channel but so many new comers will watch your vid and will run the wrong way with your cons, the slightest negative review, can sometimes ruin a new company..love your channel sir and keep it coming
I think we gave a very positive view of the gun the only real problem was the mag but overall we love the gun, we can only talk about the gun we have, our aim is only to say what we find we don't wish to put people off a gun or make them rush out and buy one just show them the one we have as honestly as we can 👍
Enjoyed the video showing as it is,I would probably give it a year normally to find out all the problems by then as my skills are 3rd rate compared to yours 👍

Hi do you think the accuracy would be better with the 550 barrel?
in sub 12 i don't think barrel length make any difference to accuracy, i have had supper guns with 280mm and 600mm barrels and a few that haven't been so good cut them down from 500mm to 300mm and they have got much better
As sub12aurgunner said. Don’t associate barrel length with accuracy. If you could have complete control of the other variables that exist then a shorter barrel would be more accurate.

Why don’t you make a cap for the guage at the front like a lens cap with a polished steel mirror in the lid so you can see the pressure without pointing the gun at your face as you can angle the cap.

@@Kralk.66 if we are talking redwolf it's no hammer spring, no reg, no trigger mech to interfere with the hammer, a supper simple firing valve, and a match grade LW barrel and about 5 o rings in the whole gun 👍👍
Will Epic address the issue of the faulty Mag??
This is the only time anyone has had mag error, it doesn’t need addressing

Thought the sub 12 reg wasn't adjustable 🤔
yes it is it's just rotated so you cant get to it with out degassing the gun
I really appreciate your videos Jeff, but I can't help thinking that you can't really call the shot results as "Straight out of the box". Seem like there was quite a bit of tinkering done before hand. I'm pretty sure that the majority of buyers of this rifle, spending a good part of £2k aren't going to be expert gunsmiths.
Was interested to see what what your thoughts on the Epic2 were, especially after watching Andy, on AAR gushing over this rifle.
our shooting test is done out of the box with no tinkering using the gun as it came and the mag it came with, we do bits to show on the vid but the test is done first 👍

NO, NO from the folding stock hinge it looks like very cheap plastic adjustable wheels yes they are most probably Ally but in my opinion, it looks cheap. it's a no-no for I at the moment, It is Good video Mat many thanks fletch.

All companies make air rifles with 700mm barrels. Only fx has 800mm barrel. EPIC two company needs to make 800mm barrel.

Sorry but the barrel tension system is total nonsense. We seem to be incorporating barrel characteristics from powder ammunition guns into UK sub 12 air rifles. This needs to stop, we are not that far away from pea shooters.
this is carried over from the high power version it does make for a very solid barrel 😀😀
Totally agree it makes for a steady barrel. But I’m sure the torque setting is about stretching the threads for tightness of the barrel fitting, not about stretching the barrel straight for more accurate shooting.
