      Hiram Rosa Jr old is gold buddy... I know some might say it's "outdated" but it's all about heritage bro, which my camaro lacks... I mean it's extremely fun to drive, sounds and looks good, but can't find anything that links it with the early generation camaros

      Full throttle for 11 minutes at 203 MPH would get you about 37 miles, on a 18.5 gallon tank, that's just around 2 MPG.

      It's the only old school retro designed muscle car left. The mustangs design is nice but not retro by any means. And Chevy is ruining the look of the Camaro. If Dodge changed the look of the Challenger that's the end of the real muscle car.

      Yeah other than a warrantied drag car you don’t want to drive because it gets gallons to the mile I’m not sure why you’d want an 80k 8 speed auto only red eye hellcat unless you just really love it and have money to spend. You can get a warrantied almost 800hp calloway camaro for probably what this will cost and you can also turn and race on a road course. Or if you need 800Hp whatever ZL1 or ZL1 1LE camaro plus pretty cheap minor bolt ons and you have more power for cheaper and you can also turn and it weighs 1000lbs less. I mean it’s a cool car. Definately more practical in the sense that you can fit adults in the front seats unlike camaro and also back seats and big ass trunk. I’d take cheaper hellcat/hellcat wide body with proper wheel tire fitment for that power and work on having that be relatively cheaper IMHO though. Not the best gas mileage still but it can at least turn reasonably and good enough for public roads and tons of space and not gonna lie badass. Other than cool or collector aspect I don’t really get a factory warrantied like drag car you won’t drive for that much from the factory. If Other than possible emissions legality I’d take much cheaper and maybe less powerful and if you wanna drag in straight lines and show off the cool car and maybe drive around a bit, I feel like you can have a much faster cooler challenger with a lot more power to do that with than something like a demon or factory whatever the hell new one is named. After all half the people buying them will probably void factory warranty and gi ahead and fix it to put out quite a but more power if they are into drag racing. I mean I guess it’s cool to have a 10-11 second drag car from the factory that can only really do that and look cool driving around if you just want something good to go and put a good amount of cars to shame out of the box if you are a good driver but like I feel like a bug portion of the fun and community in drag racing community is in modifying cars and engines to be faster at the strip.... nit that paying your way is wrong, just seems like it’s more fun for same $$$$$ spent to have a probably faster car you upgraded yourself or had help upgrading and running different setups. Idk. An 80k supercar killing track/sports car with 800hp that can well yes also drag if you wish is appealing, like if the corvette Z06 came with all the performance gear for 80,000k including the carbon ceramic breaks basically with the supercharger used on last zr1 as it is much better fit and alleviates cooling issues a lot and is not more expensive that made 800hp. Don’t need that much hp to have fun I mean if it just came with more inter-cooling and all performance items with no bloat non performance oriented options for 70-80k and Man for that price and capabilities, that would be insane and so much more appealing to me personally than Whatever 5000lb challenger xhundred horsepower new challenger boat. If I wanted to add more power and a lot it’s not hard or relatively too expensive or risky at all, meanwhile it’s absurdly fast all around.

    • @TheGrindcorps
      @TheGrindcorps 6 лет назад

      Love the car but overpriced a lot. I mean for the money I could have a faster more powerful Camaro Zl1 or ZL11LE either factory warrantied up to almost 800hp through calloway or another route, meanwhile that car turns and is insanely cheap for the performance it brings not just in a straight line and getting 1000rwhp plus is not that impractical if or that expensive if you really need it. So it’s a lighter faster cheaper car....
      i love the challengers but one dimensional and I think overpriced. If they were cheaper by 5-10k at least say the hellcat that seems more reasonable for what it is. Still awesome car and ultra bad ass. Just kind of one dimensional but it is good at what it tried to be and not really worried abkut what it is not or not trying to be so I’ll give credit there.

    I like the Challenger more and more, the lines are cleaner than the Mustang and the Camaro, and the interior is nicer also. The best part is a push rod V8 with a blower, which is built to last, not like the 2018 Mustang that only last 5,000 miles if you lucky till either the manual trans goes or the engine fails. Keep up the great work Dodge!!!

    Keep in mind, the 797hp version will have the optional 3.09 gears which is one of the most popular and effective modifications that previous hellcat owners have been installing. Dodge says its optional verses the 2.62s. The Demons torque converter will also be included. Dodge is SANDBAGGING big time with the 10.80 number. 797hp, Demon torque converter and Demon gears= Faster than 10.80!!

    Don't know why some people are complaining about this, because the more Challengers the better, this way you can find the car you want! Dodge could've done like Ford with the Mustang, just a 4 banger and a GT, besides the none factory built modded ones like Shelbys and that's about it!! Plus if you have all these cars looking close, then the other guys don't know which Challenger you have and that's good if you don't want to race all the damn time! Plus the more Challengers the longer the car will live on!!

    I don't think demon owners are angry considering the demon does the quarter in a blazing 9.65 seconds and does it's sprint to sixty in 2.3 (officially) but some journalists have gotten it to do 0-60 in 2.23 which is crazy. So no I don't think there mad and 800hp to 840hp is HUGE

    • @waynebollentin989

      Owners with completely stock ones should be being most of them run 10.20-40s stock. 9.65 isn't happening stock. I don't need to hear the excuses either. Hellcat redeye will sell well. Hopefully it runs close to what they claim this time. I think 10.80@ 130mph shouldn't be a problem with that hp and It is a great looking car.

    • @waynebollentin989
      @waynebollentin989 6 лет назад

      Killa T1Acid just about 99% of them ran in the low 10s. Look I'm not knocking it. It's a well built fast car. To get a stock one in the 9s weight has to be removed or more power has to be added. I don't want to hear it's got to be this well prep track either. They hooked just fine. And even if one ran 9.90 most of them just don't. The 9.65 they stretched the truth a bit. Besides when you start running this fast. The gap between a 9.90 and a 9.65 is bigger then most think. Unless you ran this fast most people just don't get it. Like I said I like the car. So I'm not hating on it. I really like what SRTMUSH has done. He is one of the fastest. I know there's another guy that's been 9.10s like I said it's a bad ass car. I won't take that away from it.

    Just my opinion but from a visual standpoint, looking at them from the rear, the modern Challenger has ALWAYS needed a wider stance so I'm all for the other trims getting the widebody. The 9.5" wheels and lowered stance has helped but these widebody models look amazing just sitting there.

      Rick Frank, it just seem you guys don't READ before posting. Ford WILL NOT KILL THE MUSTANG. They've made it VERY CLEAR they can still made OODLE$ OF PROFIT from the S550 platform as it is. They will kill vehicles that they sell more than the Mustang, but aren't as profitable on the long run as the Mustang.

    For the next gen I'd be happy if the styling was the exact same, maybe just thin out the blindspots abit from the c pillar, but anyway keep the style and update everything thing else

      jehad alkhalaf you're kidding right. Dodge is getting left behind big time I won't buy it. Oh wow it's got a wide body kit really. This platform has been out since early 2000s. BORING!!! Ford and Chevy blowing the doors off this PIG, they are not relevant.

    I don't feel the scatpack side body was really necessary. At least just add on 295s to the rear and 255s on the front. Now the scatpack has extra rolling resistance and weight it has to deal with on the front

    I don't mind if they squeeze every last drop they can get out of the Challenger. This is most likely the end of the line for this kind of car. They're saying the replacement will be on a Giulia frame with no V-8. So, just go ahead and keep building these as long as people keep buying them.

      Kevin Niemi Pushrod vs Over Head Cam Engine.... two beasts but operate slightly different
      an OHC motor can rev high where
      Pushrods aren’t as eager to rev high so far only Chevy has been building pushrods that keep pushing the limits in terms of high revs and Additional tech

    Did you guys ask why they gave the Scat Pack the hellcat front bumper? Why would they get rid of the fog lights when they don't need the extra air flow through extra intercoolers?.. I understand that it's probably because that is the bumper that works with the widebody, but still..

  • @giovanni27ist
    @giovanni27ist 6 лет назад

    Even though I can't afford either car. I'm very disappointed that dodge didn't give the Hellcat Charger 717hp and 656tq. The charger fans deserve a car that can compete with the new Hellcat Challenger.
