To call this show a design failure is pretty close minded. The black platform fulfilled its purpose of being a stage for soloists and features. So what if it’s unworkable, it’s job isn’t to be moved around, the BD’s props for example. Calling this show emotionless is your subjective opinion, not fact. I mean have you even heard the ballad? Did you even see the performers at the end of the show? That’s raw emotion and hype right there, and if you ever marched with a drum corps you would know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. These people put their lives into this.

Hence why there is soooooo much small detailing in this show. Think about the listening environment that these guys are being thrown into? It's absolutely incredible. The syncopation by the percussion section throughout the battery and front ensemble, the angelic horn parts, the ridiculously fast and precise drill moves? It's incredible. Absolutely breathtaking.

They are solid all around every section of this amazing group is respected in my eyes....I’m just amazed how much this drum line has changed the game.... Much respect to all its staff and who ever writes the book... The brass are from another planet dam they sound amazing if that isn’t enough to explain how amazing this group is....I would like to see them groove and dance while playing like this...

This was the cleanest show of 2019, but its concept was just too out there. It's literally meant to represent the tight, unforgivingly-rigid technical skill that lies within every single performer. The X-factor that makes a good show great was their ENTIRE show. It's mind-boggling to be honest, but it's just awesome as well.
With respect to the Bluecoats who I have watched but not heard because Beatles is like cockroaches in my ears, this is clearly the best show of the year. I think the judges still have their heads up their rears and still reward hideous props, digital samples and obtuse concepts that bypass the audience altogether. This is not the Met. This is drum corps. It is within the confines of our limitations that we find the infinite possibilities of our creativity.

I've been in that situation before, where I stayed in the same set, they rehearsed it for like 15 min. You just work on visuals for other parts.
