a great piece for larping or reenactment
Bro, that is some sweet Lamellar! You did a great job man, thanks for the walkthrough.
The Byzantine era certainly had some of the best looking gear imo
Also, RIP your work table with those deep ass cuts lmao.
it took a long time but it was a lot of fun.
i agre the byzantine gear is very nice.
every body needs a trusty work table
I had a friend that made this out of plastic from barrels. Worked great for re-enacting & it was covered by our club colours😁
nice ;) you can make one of a lot of diferent materials. its a fun projekt
I was yesterday old when I learned about lamellar armor. Thank you so much for this video!
you should giv it a try your self its wery easy to do
What?! Armor today? You did an amazing job! Wow. My partner sews, and was commenting how good a job you did, as she watched. Kitten was a highlight for her too…Her adopted cats and our dog, always give the “stamp of approval,” by hanging out during craft and quilting projects. 😉She says Kitten was giving you two thumbs up!
im glad you enjoyed it. haha it think so to kitte mitte cat defenatly aproves
Love the entertainment style - great work too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful lamellar armor.
Another great Video! That turned out great!.. Love that your Katze likes to work with you. A good friend indeed.. Glad you showed up.. Peace man Rolfie
a lot of work but very happy with what i got... god bless
if you wetten the lamellar slats for a few hours then bake it till dry, you can actually harden the leather a fair bit!
il bee making mor lamellar armour in the future it whas great fun
Looks really great. Lot of work but amazing result. Got a couple of medieval clothes and weapons too, but never made some myself.
this is so cool, i'm so sad i didn't find this earlier, thanks so much :) looks amazing
im glad you like it
That armor looks freaking great my man.
thanks i was happy with the result ass well
I think the cat stole the bow!
I assume this is too thin for SCA heavy fighting. Am I right there?
If you were going to boil it, would it be before or after punching the holes?
I love the look of the layering too! It coming together in the center gives it a cool depth to the look. My second hand piece is a straight wall of lines, and doesn't look nearly as good.
leather armour is not optimal for SCA i would say. would love to do one with bronze plates.
i would boil it first becus the leather tends to shrink a bit.
my thinking whas it would give better protection ass well.
when the plates overlap in this way.
Wow Bro 😮... I love your Armour and your style... Good job💪😎🔝
thanks.. i will do som mor armour projektis in the future
Doing the edges with a box cutter like that must have been quite tedious, and looked a bit risky. Would sanding the edges a bit have given you a similar effect with less time and risk? I think it could give it a cool textured look.
i might try that next time
A tip for anyone else making leather lamelar (if you want it to be more functional) is to pour boiling water from a kettle onto the scales before tieing together; this will harden the outside a little. Oil them afterwards to be more weather resistant, too.
thats is what wee cal a pro tip ;)
Great work, love your cat
❤ kitty supervision is the best
she has a tallent for the finer things i n life
great work i love it, if i may ask what is the size of each individual pieces.
thanks in advance
i haw the original plates i made att home.. when i get ther i will uppload the dimensions so you can giv it a ty your self
Where did you get that hood/scarf combo? Does that type of thing have a specific name?
Also, how long (approximately) is the "long time" that it took to make this?
i made it my self. i will make a vide on how to make one chek back in a week or so. its called a sköldehamnshätta i just did som adding to it.
if you work 12 houer day you will haw it done in 2-4 day depending on your previus experience
Solid
thanks
I am honestly tryng to make a brigandine/coat of plates with wooden plates but i cannot manage to make it look decent, where should i put the closing straps to make it look less goofy?
i would say in the back alon the spin or on the sids under the arms
Where did you get the letter and how much did that cost? That looks like it's about 4 mm.
i got it in a medieval market i paid about 10 dollars a kilo for it
Dig the Montage music!! Fuck yeah!! 1+1=23 hahaha
glad you noticed
What are the measurements for the template?
i think 4 cm wide and 6-7 cm long
Epico
how many scales was un total?
i think about 300-400
why not use iron?
i just happend to haw a bunch of leather at home but my plan is to make one out of iron in the future
Dude, how did you learn that? Good, but that cat hates your shit. Carry on.
Trial and error. Will do ;)
