  • Putting an edge on your lamellar not only protects you and your clothes from wear and tear, it helps give it that extra polished and stand out from the rest. I do mine a little differently, so have a look.

    It looks like you're lacing with type 2 paracord, if so you could get a fid which just screws onto the paracord directly and that would help tremendously with lacing. 7:32

    Finding armour in a thrift shop?, I wish!
    Do you do anything to the tip of the leather lacing? I normally glue a short piece of wire, or dip the end in resin to make pushing it through the hundreds and hundreds of holes.
    The armour does look really good.

    I've been watching your two lamellar videos a few times now to try to get the concept and I think I have it. The only problem now is I'm not sure how to weave the plates themselves together as you did at some point between these videos. Do you happen to have one that I just haven't seen or do you have a link that I can see how to do it?. It looks incredible and I can't wait to try my hand at it

    Out of curiosity, are there other pieces to the armor? I've seen other photos of lamellar pauldrons...but was wondering if you ever saw this used with the lower bod---thighs/knees/lower legs?

    How have the 22ga brass plates held up over time, stood up to shots, etc if you don't mind me asking? I'm planning to make a new rig and they seem like a good option.

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  7 месяцев назад

      They've been fine but I also dont get hit in the body a ton. Calontir Trim still has some of these plates that I special ordered if you ask them.

    and would you get a coat of plates if you put the Lamellar between two layers of canvas or leather ?

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  5 месяцев назад

      Well brigadine / a coat of plates is more butted instead of overlapping I think.

      The Brass Lamellar I have here is linked in the description of this video.
      But I'm not certain on bronze, probably nowhere unless you special request it.

    Hi, Have you ever tried attaching lamellae with real (or pseudo) leather laces to be more purist as compared to using paracord, or would that jeopardize its strength ? Thank you

    • @DarkHorseWorkshop
      @DarkHorseWorkshop  2 года назад +1

      I do a lot of combat in my armor, and the pain of replacing broken leather cord is too much for me. Totally doable though, just need to be ready to replace it a lot sooner.
