The Mach 1 will go down in history as the perfect S550. That doesn’t mean the most badass or fastest, that belongs to the GT500. The GT350 is the most unique because of the FPC. But the perfect S550 is the Mach 1. Performance, amazing looks, reliability and history. All in one.

    • @TheMGChannel

@@ameltjr9802 You're wrong. The S550 has all the handling of the GT350R, and it has the rock-solid Coyote. It's the best S550 NA Mustang. Even Ford engineers said this at their respective Track Attack events. The Voodoo engine is flawed. Unbalanced crankshaft, incorrect firing order....there's a reason why Ford Racing removed the FPC for a CPC on their cars. Anyway, believe your delusion tho. 👍

Went from a 2016 GT350 Track Pack to a base 2021 Mach 1 6MT, and to me the GT350 is much more fun. However, the Mach 1 is easier daily driver with more comfortable suspension and better low end torque. Can't go wrong with either car. But personally I want to get back into another Shelby.

I had a used GT350 2018 base. I got it with 11k miles and sold it at 17k. I do miss it sometimes but I enjoy driving my purple 2022 mach1 more. I have digital dash, safety features, and all cooling and suspension upgrades. I like the front bumper uniqueness better and the 500’s rear end. I feel way more confidence in my elite package car than I did in my gt350. I actually had to by a apr wing because my small tires and back end was always loosing traction when punching it. I love the no lift shift and still have the tremic and a way more reliable engine one of the greatest of all time with the coyote. I also have better recaros than the ones in my 350. I would sweat with the suede ones. Also the 350 was made for 6 yrs and the Mach 1 on for 3 as far as collectibility well that’s a no brainer unless you have a R I’m thinking.

The C&D VIR lap time is to be taken with a grain of salt. The GT350R did I think something like 7:38 on the Nurburgring. C&D use different drivers every year and all of the cars in each year are driven by different drivers. The track also has gone through lots of repavement. It is not scientific at all. Their lap times are all over the place. All I am saying is it should not really be a factor considered to decide on which one to buy

    • @TheMGChannel

It’s not the main factor but it tells you that they are in the same ball park, keep in mind that we are talking about the 350R with the carbon fiber wheels probably no radio or AC. That alone speaks volume about the Mach 1. Also considering the Mach 1 is down 46 hp from the R.

I'll add that the greater comfort and civility of the Mach means that I'll drive it more than the 350. The 350 was awesome, but I found that it could be just too "wild." The stiffer suspension, the Recaro's, the tramlining, and the temptation to always keep it above 4000 rpm, made it sometimes feel like a lot of work to drive.

I am going to install the splitter, and am thinking about the stiffer springs, and heavier sway bar...but honestly, I doubt I'll ever push the car enough to fully utilize those parts.
I hate using the tern "race car" because you'll get chuckles from people, but the Shelby IS like driving a race car on the street. Yep, it's a blast, but I just grew tired of that "race car" feel. Im glad I made the switch. I will definitely drive and enjoy the Mach more.

Mine has the Tremec 6 speed, both the HP and non HP cars have the same hardware (oil coolers, same almost everything) the difference is an extra front lip, the spoiler and the wider wheels with the Michelin cup 2s.

HP Mach1 has stiffer rear sway bar stiffer springs and a slightly different tuned magnaride as well.

@@TheMGChannelYeah man, check again. The HP also has the adjustable camber plates, and some beefier suspension bits but it's also the wing that produces more downforce along with splitter, wider wheels and tires, and even the magneride is tuned different. Mach 1 base is a a refined PP2, the Mach 1 HP is a 350R killer on track. Mine is also a 700A Elite manual with factory Recaros. I would never own a base and no Recaros.
