Addiction is the monster not the humans I lost my ex to it also no matter how much I wanted to stay with him I couldn’t because the addiction always wins. And even though we stayed friends because of the kids we could never be together and it broke my soul when he died last year no one knows that pain unless u lived it. Yes I moved on just Priscilla because we have to survive but doesn’t mean in our hearts the flame ever died. This makes me cry for every woman who has ever had to leave because she couldn’t win over addiction or whatever other issues. It’s hard to give up your your first love. I guess no one here ever had to make that sacrifice well good for you.
You’re absolutely right. I didn’t lose my husband to drug or alcohol addiction. Instead, it was cancer probably related to his smoking addiction so I have no idea what awful pain you’ve experienced. I know the pain of his loss, and I feel it everyday but I was lucky that I had 33 years with him and he was my greatest love. I hope you’re looking after yourself and building a good life.

He had been sober for a few years but his body was broken it just couldn’t handle the abuse. I gave him hope up until I couldn’t anymore so then I gave him comfort. I am so blessed to have a sportive husband who understood what I needed to do at my ex husbands death bed. Omg it’ll be a year now in 5 days the pain is still raw my first love like Priscilla the father of my children gone because addiction won.

No she did not. But she made him human. She and many others tried but he had an ADDICTION OF PILLS, you can not help a person in that situation if they refuse to take it. And you can NOT live with a man that have an addiction , it simply do not Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Priscilla knew something was wrong to and she and some others so many times tried to make him seek help but back in those days they did not have what we have today in form of help and today a doctor would not even give him some of the pills he had. And you can not FORCE a person to get clean from addiction , it simply has to come from the person with the problem in this case Elvis.
I think many people loved Elvis; but he ultimately was the one that needed to step up and make the changes necessary....no matter how tough. With his financial affairs--not leaving it up to Colonel Parker to run over him and manage things. He needed to have dropped that relationship a long time ago but was glued to that business arrangement and didn't want to let even the Colonel down. Too many people with too many opposite directions and Elvis just wanted to perform and live his life in his set path which led him into a funk. Change is tough and after so many years, I think he just wanted to continue down the path he was on. He had it all and made much all along the way; but with letting this manager rob him he was setting his course too late to take the bull by the horns....sorry to say!

No she did not. But she made him human. She and many others tried but he had an ADDICTION OF PILLS, you can not help a person in that situation if they refuse to take it. And you can NOT live with a man that have an addiction , it simply do not Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Priscilla knew something was wrong to and she and some others so many times tried to make him seek help but back in those days they did not have what we have today in form of help and today a doctor would not even give him some of the pills he had. And you can not FORCE a person to get clean from addiction , it simply has to come from the person with the problem in this case Elvis.

I think many people loved Elvis; but he ultimately was the one that needed to step up and make the changes necessary....no matter how tough. With his financial affairs--not leaving it up to Colonel Parker to run over him and manage things. He needed to have dropped that relationship a long time ago but was glued to that business arrangement and didn't want to let even the Colonel down. Too many people with too many opposite directions and Elvis just wanted to perform and live his life in his set path which led him into a funk. Change is tough and after so many years, I think he just wanted to continue down the path he was on. He had it all and made much all along the way; but with letting this manager rob him he was setting his course too late to take the bull by the horns....sorry to say!

They might not addicted to pain killers, but are addicted to pornography or any other bad habit that you don't know of. Nobody is perfect. I am helping a friend whose husband is going through rehab. He is a wonderful man and very talented musician too. The harder the challenge, the sweetest the victory. Blessings
