I’m 82 yrs old & I cry too when I hear I hear Elvis sing this song , where no one stands alone. My lovely Wife died at 42 yrs old & that was in 1999! And I’ve been alone ever sense then. Elvis makes me cry with a lot of his. Songs while thinking of my wife! She was a jewel of a lady & I miss her every day & nite. I’m crying now! God Bless Elvis & my wife! There is nothing worse than being alone, it’s true!!!

My dad, greatest Elvis fan I know, passed away last month, and I had to make a CD/DVD of this song to listen to. I feel like it's him and me singing a duet together, with the same love that Lisa Marie had with her dad.
My grandmother passed away in 2007 and my brother last year in April. Elvis was my grandmother's best favorite singer. One more month until my brother marks one year after his passing. Grieving was so hard for me but i thank God for everything. My bro and grandmother not in pain no more from there health condition. Praise the Lord!!!

I know I cannot know for sure, I just hope the Gospel Songs she sang with her dad (like this one), touched her deep within and changed her heart! Clearly she was searching for the Truth, when her son died! Sharing her deep pain in an essay, was in essence, a testimony of her struggles!
And I also hope that she found The One Who gives A Peace that passes all understanding!
If this isn't the case, shame on those who know Christ and knew her! We are called to share the Gospel with everyone, that includes those who are in her position and status...Grace is for all, and the rich are some of the most needing of that Grace!

Well now, first of all, Elvis doesn't say ANYTHING at all today, cause he's been dead for 43 plus years.
Secondly, I'm sure as I already said he just recorded a song he liked. Also he was not alone and sad at all, at this time of his life. His father was living, as was his grandmother and was married to his pregnant wife which made him happy as ever. Sure, he missed performing live, but he was already recording better songs and the year after was his comeback!
Thirdly, I am an Orthodox Christian and LOVE Christ, more than my life.
I'm sure Elvis loved him as well, BUT was a very bad fornicator, and later on an adulterer, and a taker of narcotics. No Matter how many gospel songs you sing, these sins, unless confessed and repented WILL NOT according to our Lord and Savior, be forgiven. So I hope for his eternal souls sake, in the end he confessed and repented of these most terrible sins.

The day Elvis died, I was home from work and had fallen asleep in my chair. The TV was on when a special news bulletin came on saying that the king of rock and roll had been rushed to the hospital and was believed to be dead. That jolted me awake and I went into emotional shock. The next few days felt like a close family member had died. Later, I drove eleven hours to visit Graceland. I still mourn his death to this day.
Aww thanks for sharing. Everyone has their own story of that day, it's so strange and interesting hearing peoples experiences. I was only 5 years old but I can remember that day its hazy but it was such a big event, like the world stopped and a President or major world leader had died. The funeral coverage, all those cars identical in a line endless, and then all the flowers and fans lining the street.. then the massive re-interest in Elvis and the new single release not long after his death, hearing Elvis on the radio aged 5 I knew this man was special and his voice was amazing. I've been a fan ever since. The first album I bought aged 16 (when I got my first wage packet lol) was Elvis Aloha from Hawaii....man I loved that cassette and wore it out! And this was BEFORE the internet and before I even owned a VCR so I had not even seen the concert itself, but I knew from the album it was good and Elvis was at the height of his powers that day.

Elvis always liked the low notes. I think hear Lisa Marie sings not like a female with a higher pitch but with the low and emotional voice of hers, is just amazing. I have listened to every song she released and she's wonderful in all of them. When I got to see her perform her movements is her daddy. I know Elvis is very proud of her.
I pray that the loss of her son is something she will overcome and I hope, as a mother, she will be stronger even with the tragic loss of her son.
