@@Pat12379 Obviously he has trauma over venom. The "I'm hip" part afaik is just him trying to hide his trauma by making light of keeping the mask on so MJ doesn't worry.
Love how Leo's suit is what eventually becomes the Last Stand suit. You guys did an amazing job with the dub as always!

@@Virtual_Maid_Miyu_Full_Menu It's even better if you read the comics before this, Peter sees his future self die wearing that suit in a police shootout after he killed several criminals, but chooses not to alter that future, and live with the consequences of a life as Spider-man. And a couple issues later, Spider-man gets this suit design drawn up for him, acting as a chilling reminder of the inevitability of the eventual downfall his life will take, and that he chose to live with it.
@@jacksonholder2987 Another theory that I've been seeing about after reading One More Day was that Peter desperately wanted Aunt May to live after the Kingpin shooter incident because he saw himself wearing that Last Stand suit while visiting May's grave before he was ambused and killed by the police. If May had survived and he didn't request that suit to be made by Leo, then perhaps he could avoid his impending fate from that dreaded future he saw.

I love how they don't use the generic superhero music but instead use jazz or blues to sure how Spider-Man isn't just a superhero, he's one of the people.

Seeing Doom there, speaks volumes of how good Leo's work is. I mean, he isnt the type of person that will ever admit that somebody else could make a better job that him, but he still goes to Leo when he needs some tailoring.

Ah I love stories like this, where the little normal guy/gal provides a service that yeah, the big names could get elsewhere probably, but they just do it so well or the service is great they keep coming back. It's usually tailors but I like the one bar that serves them or the mechanic that is nutty enough to fix their shit.
It kind of reminds me of that one Batman The Animated Series episode about the mechanic for the Batmobile. Straight up just a guy who runs an auto shop, who also happens to be Batman's car guy.

Earl was a special character... unfortunately, he was lost to time.
You know you are great at your job when Victor Von Doom himself wants his clothing tailored by you.
He probably was in the area and had his cape ripped, and heard he tailors for both villains and heroes and just decided to try it out.

JMS is THE tone I look for in Spider-Man stories - the humour, the sense of place, small stories are as weighty as the colossal ones - Pete’s interaction with regular New Yorkers is something we just don’t get enough of - the next game would do well to include more of this and fewer Research Stations - wonderful work on this

same here. i honestly dislike it when spider-man deals with end of the world threats. there were some stories like ends of the earth that i was fine with but i feel like that's something the avengers and xmen should focus on. spider-man is essentially a slice of life story with superhero elements and i feel like that slice of life stuff gets diminished when the entire story arc has him fight an army of robots or aliens or is traveling to other dimensions to fight multiversal threats
I rather enjoy stories where it's just another day in the life of Peter Parker. Being with his wife, helping out regular folks, just being as his title says a "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man. It's not always about world-ending threats or drama, sometimes it's just helping everyday people with their problems. I like Slice Of Life stuff.

An amazing down-to-earth story. I really wish Leo was more of a reoccurring character in the Spider-Man mythos. Him and Spidey gained a good relationship and it sure would be nice to have someone make spare suits for ya in case you get caught up in nasty confrontations.
Heck, I would love seeing a story around what Killshot did to Leo, so most of the villains try to find and off Killshot for messing with their tailor.

Leo: Oh, Killshot burst in here with a gun and shot me because he thinks I told Spiderman about his job. But really, he's the friendly neighborhood Spiderman! Of course he patrols during the day, Killshot should've planned for that. Don't worry, I can still tailor adequately with one hand.
Dr. Doom, discreetly sending a memo to everyone is his contacts list: How rude. Professionals know better then to make assumptions, besides this a tailor shop, not an office. He should discuss his work elsewhere. 'Later, after leaving' 'group calls his contacts' You've all seen the memo, right? 'Group confirmation' So you all understand why Killshots on the do not hire list and on the acceptable casualties list. I won't hunt him down yet, but if anyone finds him near Leo again, take him out. 'Hangs up'
See this? RIGHT HERE? This actually FEELS like he is the "friendly neighbourhood spider-man" and not just some random guy in a costume in some anonymous city doing what a thousand others have done before him a million times over! It feels REAL! It has CHARACTER!

@@theandres2391 yup! And that scene with him and Donald Glover was one of the better ones! Amongst others. But in that particular one he shows that underneath the cool anonymity of the costume he's just a regular kid from Queens and I love it ❤
I can't agree more, it provides a certain level of personability to Spiderman that the MCU has been missing. Spiderman isn't a global shield agent, he's a New York City Hero, even FFM, he says as such. The Maguire and Garfield movies got that straight, MCU just wanted Spiderman where they wanted Spiderman.

I’ve always loved that Mary Jane was an actress, in other alliterations she doesn’t even need to be a hollywood superstar, just a serious thespian who can helps Peter when he needs a dramatic touch.

Fun fact-this storyline inspired me in college. I had to create a corporate identity package for a fictional business, so I chose a supersuit tailor. My three-fold brochure folded up into a diamond shape, like Superman’s S symbol.
I love his response when Spider-Man asked him how he knows he's from the neighborhood. Ask me again with that Queens accent how I know you're from the neighborhood.
It’s so sad hearing mj say “I’d wait as long as it took” knowing what the writers do to them later on
First that was great work. However Peter is the worst type* of person in a restaurant. He is ordering two* things not on the menu and insults the waiter .

seeing the last stand suit reminded me of a old friend of mine, funny enough his name was Leo, and he was a big spiddy fan. his favorite suit was actually the last stand suit, he only had one issue with it. The colors. To quote him "The red is fine but it's the over use of black that bugs me. It looks less like a practical version of his costume, and more like a piece of spider-man merch." I remember I asked him. "OK. how would you fix it then?" he replied "Swap those black pants for some blue jeans, keep the red but replace the black segments, minus the eyes, spider symbol, and gloves, with possibly some sort of denim or blue Flannel. And while I'm at it, ad some subtle web patterns unto the mask." and thinking back to this now, after watching this motion comic, it made me think. If the NORMAL last stand suit is the "Bad future" suit, what if my friends was basically the good alternate version of the last stand suit?
Knowing that it's the Last Stand suit makes the reveal so much more cool to me. If I'm not mistaken, Leo's recommendation for a suit comes a bit after Pete sees that future. So the ending's a bit more haunting than the story would suggest.
Either way, you did an amazing job on this comic. The way the action moves between shot to shot is genuinely masterful. This is top tier stuff. Really glad I found this channel!

Vsquidd also left out a joke Leo made about Thor either being a real romantic, or his "hammer" swinging a little to the left after he mentioned the Modern Bride, and gardening magazines. "If you know what I'm saying".
I love Leo and the jazzy feel. Very relaxed in an action comic. So casual. I love it
I remember reading this story long ago. I think I might have it in my collection somewhere. It’s a charming and wholesome story and you guys have done it justice in my opinion. Well done! I like jazz too so extra kudos for your choice of background music. Great voice casting and animation style. Reminds me of the Black Panther animated series. Once again, well done. Read this comic a while back. I really enjoyed it. It's simple, and fun. No need for big villains and big battles. Seeing and hearing it on screen was so awesome. And the scene with Peter and MJ laying in bed is honestly one of my favorite non-action scenes in all of the Spider-man comics I've read.
The voice acting for leo is expertly done.

Superb! I love the early 2000 era Spider-Man, and these small scale episodes are among my favourites. You all did an amazing job, I can't wait to see more!
i like to the think the villains who are smart enough to work leo talked, would probably reason he only did cause it was in his neighborhood.
MJS did a great run on the book. The whole thing about the spider totem and how it has mystical properties related to myths and legends around animal totems and the powers they have. "The spider bite was fate. Not an accident. Why do you think there are so many other spider people, pete?" "Welll...there are a few spider-women...girls...I can't keep track..." "Not the point. The point is, the totem is very powerful...the spider chose you." "you saying if not me getting spider powers, someone else would've?" "I did. So someone else...sometime, someplace would've. But what they do with it, good or bad is on them."

It's funny, while being wholesome, it's a story that kind of eats its own tail with hypocrisy. Exactly what the old guy says is exactly what happens sans the Deus Ex with Spider Man. It shows very real reality in which "the bad guys" aren't stupid, but they chose to trust a guy with his advertised guaranteed anonymity. All prompted by a stupid kid, with dead stupid dad that got himself killed trying to fulfill ideals he's not equipped to fulfill and leaving his son with pretty words that eventually come back in the grandpa's face, prompting him to do the same thing that almost gets BOTH of them killed. And it only turned out decently well because the DA decided to look the other way, and "NOT GET INVOLVED." It's hard to really get into the narrative when you see such realistic human flaws that are only held in check by a fantasy world where there's a Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman that comes to make everything okay. And the kid even pulls out Nazi Germany as a parallel. It definitely makes me like the old guy and Spiderman, but dislike some police officer who died like a chump passing his unrealistic ideals down to his son who is clearly stupid and naive. And then he insults Spiderman, for talking too much. Fuck that little shit. lol
Dude, I've been trying to figure out how to animate the comics, but I really can't wrap my head around it. Super time-consuming for me, too. Well done. I might start doing just a touch of animation in my videos. I wanna collab bro. I'm sure I've mentioned it before.

I can only imagine how Leo got Dr. Freakin' Doom to actually pay for his cloak repairs.

Leo: Look, it's not like I don't feel honored to have such an... esteemed client like yourself, but tailoring isn't exactly as lucrative as some would think. I got bills to pay, and everyone likes eating, you know? Tell you what, though; I give you... let's call it a "world leaders' discount," and as a bonus, I'll strengthen the existing stitching; nothing short of a clawed mutant would be able to tear that.

Digging these small-scope stories, esp where NYC is a character. I forget how good Spiderman's stories can get.
i was 12 when i got with my dad to a comico book store, wanted everything venom, got the final showdown of the very first spiderman series venom and spidey vs carnage, and this one aswell. i didnt really understand the story then, but now for the reason i had it to early in my life, it holds a special place in my heart. a story for the tailor behind the heroes and villains

I dunno… for all the post OMD stories piss me off, you know, for being post OMD… ones like this make me angrier. ESP with how volume 5 ends and vol 6 begins… “I’d wait for you for the rest of my life, anything beyond that we’d have to negotiate”. Yup, that killed me right there.

This was an amazingly produced motion comic! VA's, the editing, and oh my God the music was lovely! Really brought the web head into a more casual New York compared to the hyperreality of the marvel universe version. it's nice to not have a story that doesn't focus or revolve around a crisis event, and have it be more of a slice of life story comparatively
