Now I'm glad I've seen Rise Against live at least 5 times or so. :-P But regarding the final part of this interview: Yeah, hardcore may seem like a macho scene due to all the big dudes with tattoos and stuff (as they put it). But as a gay guy who's been going to hardcore shows for almost a decade I can say that the Hardcore scene is about one of the most open minded of them all and I have never met anyone in the Hardcore scene that was actively homophobic, only the contrary. Which makes sense, because the message behind Hardcore is respect and positivity after all. So to all the LGBT Hardcore lovers: don't feel unwelcome, because you're definitely not.
I'm almost certain I know the girl who sent them that letter. It's very heartening to know they care so much about their fans. That said, it's been two years since Endgame. I'd be thrilled if RA started talking about a new album... Anyone else?
Wikipedia says that in an interview Tim stated that Rise Against is currently focusing on recharging their batteries from two years of touring and will begin work on their next album in the coming months. That interview occurred in January.
That there are so many people in the 21st century who actually take the time and energy to protest against gay marriage or even gay people as such just boggles my mind. It feels like a thing from the past, like protests against other civil rights movements.
Love this guy, love this band. When I heard about this originally during the promo before they released Endgame I was really touched by a band making this kind of stand. It's really interesting actually how few rock/metal/punk bands make a stand for this kind of issue. But now we have Rise Against and Against me and a few Christian bands saying they don't believe in homophobia, I'm hoping more will follow suit.
I don´t think there´s anyone I look up to more. The band is just.......kinda perfect.
I just want to thank Rise Against for sticking up for the voiceless. You mean the world to me.
I have been listening to their music for a long time. just realized that he has different coloured eyes.

Very well put! Terrible that people would think they are not welcome. I hate that!

Wow, Rise Against. They actually went to my high school.
2:32 you can see his heterochromia (two different colored eyes) one brown one blue--kinda cool
I think his eyes are actually rather cool looking. You can see it every time the camera is on him.
