    Thanks for video. You may want to tell people that the two grommets have a special way to install:
    Left grommet is supposed to be flipped upside down and installed in the right side. Do the same for the right grommet.

    Don't have any experience with the power plate but I've had no issues with the twin air setup and to be honest any of my dirt bikes twin air has always been my go to when it comes to foam filters 👍

    I ride mainly around the Lake District so also experience four seasons in one day. I took the rotty intake off as I kept finding water making its way past the filter. I ran the stock airbox with guglatec and powerparts pre filter but missed the midrange power increase of the RP intake. I'm now using the power cell airbox, not had any issues with that so far 🤞 bikes getting remapped again in September so I'll be able to see the difference between the RP and Powercell airbox and stock.

      This twin air setup seems to be good took pre filter off to have a look after mucky ride and it was spotless pre filter will need cleaned regularly though

      @@NomadScotlandYeah it looks to be the way to go, I'm sure some of the water ingress was via the two rubber drains and gets forced up if you hit a deep puddle at speed. To be fair the RP setup didn't get very dirty for how open it is and I didn't try it with the drains stuffed with foam. I ran the triple ply filter and filter skin, mainly as it's water resistant. We don't get the dust like the yanks do so I wasn't concerned about the filtering issues they seem to have stateside.
      The midrange it had with the power commander was a decent increase and with the lower gearing I run it was wheelie heaven and it would lug up a rocky hill like a tractor 😎. It was nice but these bikes really don't need more power, just the leanness cleaning up to make them smoother, I'm interested to see what the power is like with the powercell box, headers and the stock ECU mapped.
      I'm headed clockwise around Cumbria and the lakes next outing (early August) and depending on the time I may cut over the north east and see what the tet borderlands trails are like up to Berwick.

      @@NomadScotland Andy at JCN33 is mapping mine although there are a few popping up now that can map the euro5 Bosch ECU, it's a pain as it's read/write on the bench, ECU on and off so it takes a little longer. I'll let you know how it goes

    Thanks for the video, good explanation of the install. Any thoughts on how this setup compares to Rottweiler's Power Plate? You mentioned this pre-filter actually touches the bottom of the seat?

    • @NomadScotland
      @NomadScotland  Год назад +1

      Not sure about the power plate heard good reviews though, the filter barely touches the seat so there's no issues really

  • @boudix5737

    Thanks for the video, but I have a question why you are using the twin air filter instead of leaving the original paper filter like intended on the instruction manual from the new top filter? And why did you place the two foam props first and secondly the aluminium inserts. I thought the foam would go inside of the aluminium inserts, and the foam plugs would go inside of the inserts?

    • @NomadScotland
      @NomadScotland  Год назад +1

      It was a recommendation based on my riding conditions in Scotland mostly wet, boggy etc and I ride about 80% off road so based on that the paper will probably be OK but to offer the best protection twin air is the way to go, I do the same with the Enduro bikes. The natural groves for the foam inserts are already in place the alloy studs just keep them in place stop them rising up.

    Hello, thanks for the video really helpful! When cleaning the filter, do i need to clean them both or it's enough to clean the external one? thanks

    • @NomadScotland
      @NomadScotland  2 месяца назад +1

      I cleaned the pre filter last month and the internal filter was still pretty spotless to be honest just gave it another coat of oil

  • @greatfallskam

    So do those small foam circular inserts go into drain plugs? Do you have to remove the lock mechanism every time you remove the Twin Air pre-filter once installed? Great video.

    • @NomadScotland
      @NomadScotland  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes mate into drain plugs, to be honest since I've installed it the inner filter has remained spotless have washed the pre filter few times though

    • @greatfallskam
      @greatfallskam 11 месяцев назад +1

      Fantastic ! So when you remove to clean the pre filter now, do you have to still move the cross membrane with lock?
      I am on the fence with the KTM / Twin Air pre filter solution or Rottweiler Power Plate one. The later is on sale now for about $100 USD. Any thoughts?
      I am currently using the UNIfilter from AU in place of my paper filter. But, it still doesn't address the dust getting in pre filter area chamber from the snorkel intakes. Great video. @@NomadScotland

    Gemessen ist es weniger Leistung als mit dem originalen Einlass! Es ist nur etwas lauter. Mehr nicht. Sonst ist es einfach großer Müll.
