Second best pro fishing tip of all time: “We ain’t gonna catch one if we don’t make a cast...” second only to my Uncle Doug’s Fishing Law Corollary: “You can’t catch a fish without your line in the water.”
Hi Ben, I really appreciate you posting this video. For some reason I envisioned professional fisherman making perfect casts, decisions, but you are showing how human fishing really is. We make bad calls, fall in river, get hung up in trees....etc. Thanks man, you are the best channel on RUclips!!! Ps....Who is disliking these videos? They must not be HUGE!
Great video , nice water . Can’t tell you how many times I’ve made the double black diamond cast and got nada . But every once in a while troutzilla is lurking and that makes it all worth wile . Happy Trails
Every time I watch one of these on the water vids I realize how not huge I am yet. All those pockets and riffles you hit I would definitely have skipped with a dry or just nymph it. Keep me coming!
been recovering from COVID19, got to fish Taylor Park and Taylor Canyon last week! Usual crowd at the tailwater, but surprising quiet down in the public stretch a few miles down! Nice Video!
Awesome video. Watching this video makes me miss Western United States bad! Me and my wife went out to the Henry's Fork during the salmon fly hatch this year and it was a site to see.
Nice to see the drys working Ben. Just taking a short run today up to Viestenz Smith park. Found a great hole not to long ago up there. The wife will paint scenery while I go Big!!
Really enjoyed the scenery! Y’all are wearing long sleeves and waiting for it to warm up some?! It’s 106 here today, was 108 yesterday..so I’m sitting in A/C after work watching some Huge fly fishermen catch some beautiful fish ( including Cuttys, I heard you say it 😂). Loved the drone crashing at the end! Lol! (sorry) Thanks Ben, for the relief from this Huge Tx. heat wave.🥵
Drink one beer and then you're falling down drunk into the creek! 😂 Damn, that's my kind of fishing! You just got yourself another subscriber haha! Mighty fine Browns you're catching there. I gotta get back to Idaho, maybe next year...
I need to cue up a bunch of your sound bites and sayings for when I’m out there... “things are looking up!” “The double dry” “there’s a fish” “on the board”. “This a good looking hole!”
I wish I could hit the like button more. The only problem with this video is it got me way to fired up to chase the trout with dries. But, it’s to warm here to be safe for the trout. So, I guess I’ll just fish the ponds for bass and panfish.
I just finished the Salmon River in Central Idaho I caught three Chinook salmon I don't think there's any Browns in the Idaho Salmon River salmon steelhead bull trout rainbow trout cutthroat trout and Whitefish
Fantastic vid. 1) water was taste, brah 2) we could see that hopper drifting in the sun, then getting eaten, so cool 3) Willie giving zero f*cks, just crushing 4) Was every fish 16" in that water? So jealous. Thanks.
This comment is way late. Those are some nice Salmon River steelhead that look exactly like brown trout! I've fished the salmon several times and never caught steelhead that look like that 😂
Love those streams. Just my size. Is that private property, or public access? Probably private, cause' I don't see any trails on the bank, or trash. Thanks, Ben.
The areal footage is beautiful but if I'm out fishing in a place like this I'd rather not have to listen to a drone scream by. You know, hugging trees and that sort of rot. Love your vid's. Keep 'em coming. Thanks!
To relieve your hiccups. In one breath, say out loud the word “tunafish” seven times . Don’t short change it. Sometimes you have to do it twice. But it does work. Also hilarious in a bar at others expense.
I never thought Huge Fly Fisherman videos could get any huger, but featuring Willi and his epic stache is the pinnacle of hugeness.
These videos are so much more interesting and realistic than the highly edited shows you see on tv. Just like when I'm fishing by myself.
Thank you for representing us right-handed retrievers! 🎣😀👍
freaks...😄
Most reels can be changed to left hand retrieve. All of my fly reels are setup left hand retrieve.
Second best pro fishing tip of all time: “We ain’t gonna catch one if we don’t make a cast...” second only to my Uncle Doug’s Fishing Law Corollary: “You can’t catch a fish without your line in the water.”
I would easily watch another hour of this, great video.
Great video Ben! I grew up on the Salmon River in Idaho (5th generation) and I have never....... nevermind :-)
😉
I know where you're going with this too😂 NEVER HAVE I EVER
I was just making this exact comment and then I remembered...
I'm sorry if he sent tons of views to the Salmon River by watching this video. But...., I'm damn glad he didn't say where he really is. 🙏🤙🎣

One of the best trout fly fishing videos I've seen! Thank you so much for the content! You've earned a subscription!
I’ve been waiting a full week for this
I'm at the point where I hit the "Like" button before I even watch. Some say it's risky, I say what's life without a little risk?
Awesome vid, love the commentary on it makes it much more enjoyable to watch.
We love Willy! Mad Respect!
Love your vids! Absolutely best! Thank you for sharing!
I enjoy the longer style video bro! Keep it up🙌🏽
Every time I watch one of these on the water vids I realize how not huge I am yet. All those pockets and riffles you hit I would definitely have skipped with a dry or just nymph it. Keep me coming!
Man, that's a beautiful river. And some beautiful fish. Thanks Ben!

@ 4:57 did you say "Stuck"? or........ And that closing drone shot looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie! Fun vid, thanks!!
Damn right!! Now this is the shit I could watch all day but i wont cause I’ve got to practice casting 💪🏽💪🏽
Thank you for giving me more content during Insomnia session lol
Best video yet! Thanks man
The quick cut to the burp was phenomenal filmmaking.

I love the crashing drone video at the end. Stay Huge! Fish Lives Matter!
I want a fishing day like this.
It's nice to see I'm not the only one that cast into the trees....
Looking huge dude!
I need to cue up a bunch of your sound bites and sayings for when I’m out there... “things are looking up!” “The double dry” “there’s a fish” “on the board”. “This a good looking hole!”
Great video as always, give us some idea of the gear that you are using.
I love dry fly fishing.

Xtended footage, nice !!, thanks Alotta. What sizes where You using ? Rodwise
I've always wanted to fish in Idaho but it's a little to far for my time and budget but at least I can do weekend colorado trips from time in Colorado

Ben I think you’re the one keeping Pabts in business😜
Problem is us cheap old farts have to fight the hipsters for our Peebers now!
Salmon River Idaho brown trout are so underrated. Secret is out now!
I know right?! I loooove catching browns on the Salmon!!! 😂
Thanks Ben... Curious on the hopper pattern you were using?
A chubby.
I wish I could hit the like button more. The only problem with this video is it got me way to fired up to chase the trout with dries. But, it’s to warm here to be safe for the trout. So, I guess I’ll just fish the ponds for bass and panfish.
Man I’m lake fishing currently for bass and walleye but love the mountain river!
That must be the section of the Salmon River right across the border from the Gallatin in Northeast Montana.
What net do you have. I lost my net today and I need a new one
What rod were you using?
As soon as this video started playing I instantly knew where he was at.
another huge video! hiya Ben, what rod wt do you have on a day like this? same on both days? cheers man

I just finished the Salmon River in Central Idaho I caught three Chinook salmon I don't think there's any Browns in the Idaho Salmon River salmon steelhead bull trout rainbow trout cutthroat trout and Whitefish
I think the huge fisherman is often just a state or two off. But there is pbr available where he is so that helps
That’s because he is not in Idaho “Einstein”.
How often do you fish just a dry fly? Only in shallow/calm pools. I would think really deep pools would be pointless. Any tips would be great 👍
Do you live in Idaho? I’m in Boise and I want to get over to the salmon river soon
Fun..Thanks!
Nice!! 👍🏻🎣
Fantastic vid. 1) water was taste, brah 2) we could see that hopper drifting in the sun, then getting eaten, so cool 3) Willie giving zero f*cks, just crushing 4) Was every fish 16" in that water? So jealous. Thanks.
I watched an entire Kraft Mac and Cheese ad in your brown trout movie and so i hope the youtube people pay you
Damn. I've lived on the Salmon my entire life, and I had no idea there was browns on some of it 🤷♂️💩
Subbed!
🔥
This comment is way late. Those are some nice Salmon River steelhead that look exactly like brown trout! I've fished the salmon several times and never caught steelhead that look like that 😂

All public.
But maybe not the state or river but that's fair
The areal footage is beautiful but if I'm out fishing in a place like this I'd rather not have to listen to a drone scream by. You know, hugging trees and that sort of rot. Love your vid's. Keep 'em coming. Thanks!
