I had the pleasure of living right nearby your location in the 80's. Grew up fishing that stretch as well as the private property to the south (or east) of the county road bridge. I was too young at the time to know (or care) that I wasn't supposed to fish there... lots of good times in that area. You are lucky!
Have a HUGE happy Birthday! I did a little birthday fishing myself last week. Didn't catch trout though. No snow either. It was 85 degrees in Texas. Sunfish were fun and are still pretty fish!

They just closed all Texas State Parks in the middle of White bass run. Guess I’ll be hiking it somewhere else. I have been fishing some cooler/cold days in NM for the last couple of weeks and I can tell you why they are so reluctant to touch them. Other than the less you handle them the better (always). If you are catching (3 days ago, caught 15), in that water/temp, and you handle a few, your hands are now FREEZING!
Oh man, that took me back. I fished that stretch fairly regularly in the late 80s and early 90s. Good times, fond memories. Except for the time I got stuck on the wrong side of the tracks up in the canyon on a stretch where the slide down to the water was really steep. There was enough room between the train and the wall, but not much more than enough. Some of my best nightmares include that ground-shaking, mind-numbing noise. Avoid the trains. Don't ask me how I know that. I just know.
Where did you exactly catch this fish? And on what specific setup? Did you wear a buff? Will you give me a ride here and guide me? BTW I’m only in town for a day or two and never fished.
Ugh, local streams don't open up for another couple weeks. The place were I planned on going last weekend got close due to idiots camping on top of each other and fishing elbow to elbow. Also glad to see I'm not the only one who yells at geese.

Dang fishing streams is closed here in Idaho for spawning. Lakes are still open and I would like to take my float tube out bit we have no lakes close
