Ben, it's always a blast to have you in the boat, and you get it done. Let's do it again soon.
Do you guide?!
This type of fishing has no room for limp wrist, it takes muscle to bring these monsters to the boat. Fly fishing for Cajun Bones is becoming very popular down south and the video is proof!!!!
I've been chasing reds on da fly for a long time and its a kick. Geaux Tigers!!!!
All you huge cork suckers listen hear. That was a well done( including real life mistakes and all ) fun to watch video. I for one thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Keep up the great work. If you can call it that. Hugeness was on full display!
That Carolina Skiff embodies all that is good in the world of angling.
Sadly it is no more. About 2 weeks after that was shot I was in an accident on the highway and the J16 took the brunt of it. I was able to upgrade though.
Love the Carolina skiff. Way better than something 3 times over what it should be
At 1:33...did you say Fishing Pole...🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha
Awesome catch
More of these Ben! This was 10/10 quality
Hey man! Would you explain the trick of grabbing the leader better ? I always struggle landing fish on my own , but this would be HUGE! Thanks
Great video, just saw your channel on recommended, really enjoying it so far.
HUGE vid Ben, gotta go to La and try that!
Another good one Ben. Grew up on Mitchell 300s.
just came across your channel today. been watching your vids since this morning. just got into fly fishing this winter. my goal is to get a redfish on a fly one day. watching this is making me so antsy.
I liked this video... until I saw you crack open a Lonestar! Then I loved it! Need a fishin partner? Haha
I just saw ron at the launch today! Was a little star struck
He just sent a video of him getting towed in. How was the fishing?
@@HugeFlyFisherman aw man that sucks! Fishing was tough, super windy but we managed two smaller reds!
Nice line strip trick to grab the leader. Huge!
True that....BUT I may be a bit daft....Explain that one again? I watched on my phone, and not sure I understand the maneuver completely. Thanks.
Hey Huge! Long live the long vids. Keep'em coming!
Man I lived in Florida for 5 years and never had that kind of consistency catching Reds that were slot or bigger! Solid work
Ha - I had a Mitchell 300 (and a 308)... They were awesome!
Wow, cool vid Mr Ben. Lot bigger fish then I'm use too in Nv. Keep it HUGE :)
Thanks for the video. Could you tell me what rod you were using?
What a great time on the water
LOL...Crazy person laugh.... Always handy to have a good no great guide 👌🚶🎣
We need more videos like this
Waiting for you to get too addicted to this and leave Colorado
Dude that was a bad ass move
Subscribed. These are great videos. Well done.
This was awesome!!! great vid
What’s you’re rod/line set up for red fishing and also what size fly usually?
YES! More of this!
Keep these comin!
hey man what are the specs of that line?
Just got back from doing the same. So much fun.
This is so awesome
fucking Epic Video....Y'all put in some nice work together.
Hi dude! Im traveling from Argentina to USA this june and wanted to experience some red fishing... do you think its a good time to ride all the way to lousiana and give it a try? The video blew my mind!
Do it. There is no bad time to fish for redfish.
What fly line were you using and 8 or 9 weight?
nice reds man I am so jealous
Who exactly is "old friend Ron" and can I fish with him??? and what Parish? Great video as always
You can find Ron at www.redchaser.com, but he doesn’t guide anymore. If you want to book a trip, look up the other Ron at marshdawn.com. Tell him I sent you.
I'm stupid jealous.. That's awesome
Awesome . Love the TP reference!
Need to know the story behind each and every rod breakage.
I will always say that if redfish could jump, they'd be the perfect fish. I hope next time you come down I can meet ya and give you some flies. Take care podnah
Quit stealing my line dustin.
Lol which line
@@heavymetalfishingla I figured you watched this one already..... ruclips.net/video/0O0FeeaaiKc/видео.html
what rod r those?
Can we get some “Huge hand liner” stickers
I have to ask what the issue is with Black Drum?
Black Drum is considered more of a trash fish, but great table fare.
Rad video🤘
Fishing 8 or 10 weights for these big boys?

Realize it’s unrealistic but doing one of these once a month or so would be so huge
This is probably a stupid question...and I could have used Googles, but thought I’d give you a chance to interact with your many followers. Primarily fishing for trout, my reel handle is on the left (I’m right handed). So why, when fishing salt, do most people reel on the right?
It’s sort of the old school way to do it, but I’ve always reeled with my right hand because it felt awkward with my left hand. I can do both if needed though. I don’t whine about it like my friends do if they have to use a reel that is rigged differently than theirs. A lot of saltwater guys reel with their dominant hand, but not everyone. There are no rules.
So I've got to jump in with my two cents since i get this question while guiding all the time. All what Huge says below but also maybe put your equation the physical weight of 8-12wt rods and reels (especially with all the old stuff) , muscle spent casting, just up holding ready up on the deck and hard fighting saltwater species. It is physically tiring. Switching hands can give your dominant hand a break each time your landing a fish
Jen Gold I like this...makes sense. Thanks Jen.
20 minutes long! Getting good at this huh?
What WT are you using?

What's your go-to red fly?
¡¡Hola me llamo Ben soy un pescador grande!!
Which areas did you fish?
Yeah, I’m not answering that.
@@HugeFlyFisherman LOL .. areas, not GPS coordinates. We did pretty good out of Delacroix earlier this month but dont' tell anyone. :-)
Yeah, no.
This was quite the weenie question to ask.
I wish the reds in Charleston were that forgiving! Subscribed! Loving the videos Ben! Check us out too!
I am with project healing waters and would like to fly fish for reds and speckled trout in Charleston. Would you point me in the right direction for time of year and a good starting local, please?
Manning the Outdoors visit the channel for more info please !
@@FishandsurfChs subscribed, i will message as well
Why was he so disgusted by the black drum??
Ben.... you made some HUGE mistakes my man...... at least gotta start With mimosas or Carolina coffee and you woulda been all over the connection factor yo!!!🥴
I was a little off my game that morning.
Great video. Hope you start mixing these kind of videos in with your instructional ones. If you buddy is a guide, please give him a plug too
Hunters Baseball World Ron does not guide anymore, but you can call the other Ron. marshdawn.com. Tell him I sent you.
Switching hands to real? Why on earth?
Ryan DiAndrea super Huge . Anyone that fished before a river runs through it came out would cast/reel with the dominant hand . It’s what you would call old school .
I’m amphibious.
@@HugeFlyFisherman You mean you can read minds or you can't eat dairy? Either way not sure what it has to do with fishing.
@@AboutTrout Well....guess i have to change all my reels now
@@AboutTrout pssht, James, were you even born before 1992?
