When u have a musical ear and u understand the LANGUAGE EG plays with.... Man, This man will bring u to tears! He's so Free! Listening to The Emotion, Joy and Pain he communicates through his playing is Overwhelming! He's a Master! My Mentor 🐐🔥🎸🙌🏾
Several great players out there that have phenomenal skills but none come close to matching the soul and emotion that Eric displays nightly. Been a fan for a very long time and he keeps getting better.
Eric Gales always blows my mind and lighten up my day, you can see everyone being magnetized by the superaura of this superdude, hope to see you live someday!!!
I always thought Bonamassa was the best modern day blues player. That all changed when I heard Eric Gales play for the first time a couple of months ago. Funny thing is I decided to check him out because I read somewhere JB said EG was a beast.
Eric Gales and Ty Tabor my two favorite guitar players ever (Dean Deleo from STP also very creative player but didn't release too much stuff in recent years, but when he does is always mind blowing)
Bonamassa, All he ever plays are old recycled stale blues licks over and over. There is nothing innovative or creative about him. But if you wanna hear a LOT of recycled Eric Johnson licks go check him out. He is great for that. Lol.
What amazing playing. Throughout the whole thing. But how can you not just get lost in those chord at the end? They were put together so f'ing tastefully. Dayum! Mr. Gales... taking over the guitar world day by day!
That was sooo flippin' brilliant... **A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!** Thanks for sharing, Mike...you rock!!!! How was NAMM...did you have a blast...I bet you did!!! 💗💗💗
1st time I saw Gales play was with Experience Hendrix and nobody knew who he was. He played Waterfalls with Eric Johnson, and Mitch Mitchell right before Mitchell died. After the show everyone knew his name!!
Is there video of that? I would love to see that. Especially with Mitch's beautiful drum work on "May This Be Love" (aka Waterfall) a true Hendrix masterpiece!
ruclips.net/video/e_5FvYidt-I/видео.html Here it is. Imho, the greatest guitar duet ever recorded. I've been listening to this for almost 10 years and still gives me the same feeling and tears.
Eric have you ever met michael Wiley hes from Memphis I played with him in high school(Kingsbury) in themid aeventy you remind me of him keep ripping it up Eric love your playing Um left handed but I plav right handed "started left handed but I though I was playinf wrong keep shining brother.
Watching and listening to this was not only a treat for me , but also for Atom, my imaginary dog which came half way through the video blasting out at full volume , it sat in front of the monitor, and .. ( I am not saying it was rocking out , his tail was twitching ) , his attention was totally diverted from a bowl of finest steak tartar laid for him in the kitchen.. Eric is a master-blaster, an icon in the making..
If you'll notice he is playing a right handed guitar upside down without the strings restrung...Hendrix did the same but switched the strings. Amazing!
Dude, you are into old guy music...? LOL! No wonder you are so good! Last time I went to NAMM The Tubes played about this far from me. Wish I'd seen this too!
Wow. And he doesn't change the strings to play left-handed, just like the great Albert King. Just that would make him hard to copy, but he has a style of his own anyway, which is hard nowadays, particularly playing blues I think because so many came before!
He's brilliant but every video the comments are obviously people watching him play. On a track he would be an amazing player, not the greatest ever reincarnation of hendrix
Hendrix was also an incredible songwriter and lyricist. It's funny to say this, cause we think of Hendrix as a guitar player. But I think Maybe songwriting was even his greatest talent. Gales has some great songs, but: Axis, 3rd Stone, Little Wing, Voodoo Chile, Come On, Freedom....nearly ALL of Hendrix's songs are just beautiful and revolutionary. But as a soloist, there's a lot of places Gales can reach Jimi hadn't got to yet. Gales has all that jazz knowledge, that no doubt Hendrix would have moved into in the space of a few more years. But one thing where they are very similar is their expression of pure emotion and their joy and freedom to play....
He's great and all but John Frusciante is better. One thing is jamming but song writing/ composing its a while different thing. And Frusciante definitely can write a hit song/radio friendly. Its not easy writing a catchy song. If it was easy everyone would write a catchy number 1 hit. And John has lots of hits.
Someone's obviously influenced by Jimi Hendrix. However, Jimi Hendrix was the master. Jimi Hendrix + looper.. would of been awesome. Peace ✌️ out people

Free is when you can play anything you want. Ever hear of Wes Montgomery? John Scofield?
He is a true blues man !!! If Kevin Durant could play blues guitar he’d look a lot like Eric
Most amazingly expressed ❤️
@@WilRockQ well 2 out of a million can actually understand that shit ...no one wants to hear that ...thanks...
I could watch this dude play for days. Definitely one of the greatest!

Eric Gales is a pure monster ! He has a big tecnique and a strong expressivity. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the fame he deserves !
Fame has a very tenuous relationship with talent ( Talent for being famous aside - sorry Kardashians & Trumps)
Thank you so much for uploading this!
You're very welcome Tonaya :)
Such a monster player!! Thanks for sharing Mike!!
Amazing chops and tone
Eric plays from the heart ❤️
Thanks for posting Mike. EG's one of my favorites! been following him since his first Eric Gales Band cd came out.
Thank you for sharing! What a great performance!!! Eric is amazing Eric is music 🎶

Bonna is a technical wizard, bar none.....Gales can wring out all the stank and love on a different level. My story anyway.
You forgot Greg Koch and Michael Landau
Bonamassa, All he ever plays are old recycled stale blues licks over and over. There is nothing innovative or creative about him. But if you wanna hear a LOT of recycled Eric Johnson licks go check him out. He is great for that. Lol.
@Henry eric johnson never claimed to be playing any blues. he has his own style.
Got to meet him at a show in Peoria il years ago. Amazing person and player.🤘
What amazing playing. Throughout the whole thing. But how can you not just get lost in those chord at the end? They were put together so f'ing tastefully. Dayum! Mr. Gales... taking over the guitar world day by day!

Eric is full of dimensions. Everytime I think that I've heard his sound he leaves another footprint He's an elusive rascal!

No worries at all Shauna. NAMM was fantastic, broke me, felt awful the first coupe of days and got Conjunctivitis, but was a fantastic time :)

Dude's awesome. Really loved when he jammed with the bassist.
That looks like it was an absolute blast. Wow!
It sounds like all the greats merged into one. .
Lovely feel. . Proper playing not just boring speed scaling. . . Refreshingly good
Never interrupt a guitarist while he’s playing!
Exactly...I was like WTF...?
Thanks for sharing this! Sooo Funky!!
Man, what luck! Eric is a genius. So much feeling coming out of that guitar.
He truly is! One of the best out there today!
Big up the bass player getting his promotion in with a jam
Seeing him and Walter trout tomorrow night! Gonna be awesome
Awesome, have a great night!
Thursday for me
Stunning!
The bass player was kicking it too! Great impromptu jam! Gales is the most interesting blues player left and is an American treasure.
Genius ar work ! great to see buddy ! with LaDonna itching to play some percussion there too :)
Mind blowing indeed.
Long haired dude in the red T diggin' it. Such joy on his face. 😃
Jimi Hendrix+Eric Johnson+Carlos Santana=Eric Gales

Those first few notes had me thinking of BB King...respect and RIP.
There’s Lotsa great players but ain’t nobody doin it like that
There is something about black people’s playing that others cant emulate.. so much groove and soul.
If you'll notice he is playing a right handed guitar upside down without the strings restrung...Hendrix did the same but switched the strings. Amazing!
Wtf Crazy wicked improve...thanks bass player. I'm beside myself...whoa.

Closet thing to Jimmy Hendrix we have
He's even playing lefty on a right-handed guitar
Couldn't agree more!

MONSTER ALERT
Modern day Hendrix
Ken Hall : Among the best players nowadays, but his songwriting was only great on the 2nd album.
I say John Mayer’s better but he’s right behind
Im willing to bet John 5 could do this minus a hand. Good though.
Not a chance-get real
