- The great blues gitarist Eric Gales is playing with his band, but for the encore he also invites Trombone Shorty, Cory Henry and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. We see the songs 'You Don't Know The Blues', 'The Storm' and 'Catfish Blues' live at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Eric Gales can count legends like Carlos Santana, Dave Navarro and Joe Bonamassa among his fans. The latter calls him “perhaps the best guitarist in the world.” Gales is pretty modest about his own skills: “As a guitar player, it’s been established that I can play a little bit, just a little bit.” Whoever has seen the lefthanded virtuoso rip his strings, knows that this is an incredible understatement. But not a false sense of modesty, because this guitar hero honestly feels he still has much to learn. As a challenge Gales keeps pushing his boundaries. He has worked with rap groups like Prophet Posse and Three 6 Mafia, from his hometown Memphis, and in 2019 he invited guest stars like Doyle Bramhall II and Beth Hart for his album The Bookends. In the same year, Gales won the Blues Music Award as Blues Rock Artist of the Year. His latest album, Crown, was produced by Joe Bonamassa and released recently.

I really like " the storm" especially when there's was a hint of thrill is gone within it, and the fast strumming where it almost sounds like latino music was really unique and i absolutely dig that. The lyrics was what hit me the most though. Not only about inequality but the fact when he said along the lines of he might not be able to go back home, it made me imagine if i was in such circumstances and I might not be back to see my momma again.... that scares me more than shitless too. So much love for you Eric!!!! I truly appreciate the dedication that you are pouring into your art!!!!
