Especially considering that schools separate Boys n girls for 'health and sex education, and dont explain to Boys how a female body works.... Or how you can release an egg without having a prepared uterus, or how even if you don't have periods, either from PCOS or HRT that egg still wants to hang out sometimes and can get re absorbed by the uterus (and why its important to use birth control even if your periods stopped to prevent unprepared pregnancy, both unprepared in your external and internal life

Nice to see an engineering kind of vibe for explaining this topic. I don't think this is as an angle that has been pursued a lot for this topic. And we all learn differently. I think this kept the "human" aspect and a good sense of humor, while focusing on what technically is going on. Some people will prefer this information in this form over any other way. Whatever helps the most people learn is great, in my book. And as a benefit from this approach, the info here is very clear. I would say no-nonsense, which it is in the colloquial sense, but there is actually just the right amount of "good nonsense" as well to keep it lighthearted. Thanks!

I had incredibly heavy and debilitatingly painful periods growing up, and the only thing a gyno ever did was prescribe naproxen, which is Aleve.
Anyone who menstruates, if you’re reading this and have serious life interrupting pain, or bleed for more than seven days regularly, that is not normal and you deserve a doctor who will help you find a solution, or at least a reason. It may be endometriosis or PCOS, or it may seem totally weird and unrelated! I had undiagnosed celiacs, and didn’t figure it out till I was 25. I stopped eating gluten and suddenly I could have a period with just a couple days of cramps, which lasted six days. Instead of a solid week of curl up can’t move pain and extremely heavy flow.
I’m not saying everyone with dysmenorrhea has a food intolerance or autoimmune disease like me! But bodies are complicated and menstruation shouldn’t put your life on hold every time it happens.

@@smirnovamaria9611 about 2% of pregnancies are ectopic, meaning outside the uterus. Usually in the tube but can migrate out into the abdominal cavity. Ectopic pregnancies are doomed & put mom’s life at risk, too. And there is no way to re-implant an embryo into the uterus & anyone who suggests that doesn’t understand how anything works.

Wow... I was a curious kid, raised by my mom, a teacher, so periods were never a full scary mystery to me, additionally I've always tried to talk to the females in my life about periods to better understand what they have to deal with, so I felt like I had a decent grasp on the concept... but this... this REALLY made me actually understand the mechanics of it so much more than I ever have. Thank you so much to Simone and all involved.

I simultaneously feel proud, intrigued, and very nauseated by something that happened last month. I passed a type of “cast,” which means the lining shed in the exact shape of my anatomy to stay together. It was absolutely horrifying and disgusting, but the Internet comforted me by letting me know what the sac was and that despite doctors not knowing why it happens, it’s totally normal in a healthy way. Like 1/3 of women have experienced it. Thank god.

@@Ck87JF I don't know what you mean. Actually it was for a group making menstrual cups for women in Africa. Apparently other products are no good because lions smell the blood and come into the villages. The model I made was 3D printed and used to show the girls and women how to use it because most of them don't know how to read.

@@3DJapan sorry, I was making a dumb joke that didn't entirely work in the context of your comment. Basically, you and your girlfriend/wife having a baby girl, thus making a scale 3D model.
