  • Do you practice your American English accent and use movies as English pronunciation lessons? In this English lesson I show you how to use a scene from the movie Green Book to improve your English speaking and English pronunciation. You will learn about American English speaking elements like reductions and contractions. When you use movies for learning English you have the opportunity to mimic and learn from native speakers. I have developed a terrific method for your learning over the past 10 years and I’ll show you exactly how to learn English movies’ power for improving your speech. We will look at a scene from Lady Bird together and walk through everything that the native speakers are doing. When you use this approach to learning English with movies you begin to see each of the components that make American English sound the way it does. And you can watch all summer long as we take a new movie each week to give you more and more opportunities to learn English movies and improve your English speaking.
This summer you can also download a free audio lessons to go with this video: rachelsenglish.com/summer-blo...

Thank you Miss Rachel for these lecturers. These lessons are wonderful because they give me super detailed perspectives to the American Spoken English. I spend four hours everyday to learn one of these half-hour lessons which surprises me that how much time, ingenuity and energy you have devoted into these projects. I have tried TOELF test, but I encounter the barrier that how to master the real American spoken English. And from the organization of this text you maybe can tell that my language is far away from the real and effective native one. So I hope can gain some progress from these lessons. Best wishes.

Your videos are really helpful. I practiced listening with American tv shows, and I wrote down what I heard in the shows so that I was able to know what I can't hear, but I didn't understand at all because native English speakers spoke so fast, and they pronounced words very unclearly. And I asked my friends whose native language is English if they can understand what people in the shows say and they said 'Yes, I can understand', but they were not able to explain how people in the shows pronounced words... My friends just pronounced the words very clearly. (Of course, I understand them because if someone who is not trained professionally can't explain his or her native language well to non-native.) But, your videos are SUPER helpful and useful because you explain how native English speakers say naturally and it helps to improve English listening comprehension. I subscribed to you about 3 years ago, and I recommend you to my friends who wanna learn English. I hope your RUclips channel to be more successful! Thank you Rachel.

Now, I sometimes hear sounds not pronunced.
When pronunced “KIN'NA", I hear “KIND OF".
“LOOK AT 'IM", I hear “LOOK AT HIM".
    I hear D F H not existed.
I guss native speakers also hear that way.
