I left Veterinary Medicine to become a full time Financial Advisor. It was probably the most difficult decision I had to make in my life, and in today’s video, I am going to share my thought process as to why I made such a radical career switch, because I know that I will be questioned a lot as to why I would leave a high in demand, honourable, potentially lucrative career for an unpredictable, challenging and often criticized profession.

I left Actuarial Science to become a developer and Index/Stock trader :)
I would have an Actuarial Exam on a Wednesday and the night before I'd rather "code" a gig I got on campus for a website.
Thought math was my passion, only to find out solving IT problems are instead.
This was the most wholesome RUclips content ive seen in AGES bruh.

For the first time I'm prepared to book financial education with somebody I trust . All the best my brother.
My suggestion is to still to continue part time as a vet, to address the shortage of skills in this field and keep it as a plan b, because as you get older your financial responsibilities increase especially as a parent

Wow Pieter, this video spoke right to me! I had to choose between Actuarial Science and Engineering. I chose Engineering and I'm now a software developer - also a highly sought after and well paid profession. But, I am also really struggling to find the spark and I'm doing a lot of introspection about whether this is the right course for me. Thank you for sharing your story, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one, and very inspiring to see you make these hard but rewarding choices.
